Chapter Text

Rancis drove as fast as his kart could take him,why did Tafyta always say those things? Sure he never participated in bullying the Glitch as much as the others, and yes he’d never yet won a single race, and okay, maybe he didn’t always act like King Candy wanted them to, watching the Glitch rather than preventing her from building her makeshift kart, the one they’d destroyed, that didn’t mean she had to say those things to him, her voice still echoed in his ears as he drove his Kit-Kart along the bumpy narrow path,“face it Fluggerbutter, you’ve never won a race, you don’t try to prevent the glitch from racing,& the players don’t even pick you that often as the racer they use, you're so vain about your appearance that I’m surprised you even know how to drive that monstrosity you call a race kart, there’s no way your coded to be so stupidly and annoyingly, well, you!” As he tried to defend himself she suddenly became violent and shoved him into a chocolate mud puddle, the others proceeded to follow her lead as she began kicking, and stomping on him, like they always did when the glitch wasn’t around, and with that they’d driven off all of them laughing except Candlehead who merely drove off not saying anything,“face it Rancis,” Taffyta called over her shoulder,“you will never be a true racer because you’re just a pathetic little boy, and that’s all you’ll ever be!”

Rancis felt his eyes tear up at the memory,& only just managed see the huge jawbreaker boulder in front of him in time, his kart swerved to avoid it and he crashed into Diet Cola Mountain,‘perfect just perfect,’he thought climbing out, he pushed his kart into a nearby forest of cotton candy trees,& sat down, leaning against the mountain, he yelled in shock and surprise when he fell through the side of the bottle shaped volcanic mountain, as if it had swallowed him whole, landing on a peanut brittle ground that felt slightly warm, shakily getting to his feet, Rancis walked further into the volcano, gazing in awe at the inside of the mountain in the direct center was a massive lake of boiling hot diet cola,‘well that explains the mountains name I guess,’he thought, when he heard a *splash*,a giant burst of cola shot up from the lake and splashed back in, sending drops of hot cola flying in all directions, his eyes widened in shock as he stared up at what he now saw to be giant hanging stalactites of Mentos from the inner top of the volcano, mouth agape as another mento fell into the cola, the ground rumbled and another burst of cola shot up and rained down around him, only just managing to dodge out of the way, he noticed a wooden sign that read “Diet Cola Hot-Springs, Watch Out For Falling Mentos” he turned around and walked away from the lake, and saw a makeshift bed made of a small sponge cake several candy wrappers lay on top of it,& he could only assume they were meant to be blankets,& two gram crackers stood to the left and right of the cake bed with a third on top of them, likely meant to protect the inhabitant of the mountain from cola bursts, he turned around,& walked back towards the wall he’d fallen in from, hoping that it worked both ways,& he could leave the mountain, when the wall began to glow blue, he backed away,& winced when he put pressure on his left leg where Minty had stepped on it,just as a kart burst through the wall, at least it looked like a kart, it was all different colors,& a mish-mash of candies,& frostings, in the driver's seat was the glitch,& that giant guy who’d saved her from them, but he didn’t have time to think as the kart slammed into his chest,& he fell backwards with a small grunt of pain.

he lay there for a few moments before he began to crawl back towards the hot springs to hide,if they saw him there was no telling what they might do,as he slowly passed them,he heard them talking,“what is the big whoop about that crummy medal?” the glitch was asking,he couldn’t make out what that guy was saying as a sudden headache tore through him,the next thing he heard was the glitch saying,“no I get it,that’s exactly what racing would do for me!” “yeah,well guess what?” the guy said, “what?” she asked,“neither one of us is getting what we want!” Rancis had made it to the other side and was next to the sponge cake,just as the guy banged his hands on the ground,causing a mento to fall into the lake,the ground rumbled,& a geyser of cola shot up,& rained down,splashing his left leg causing him to cry out in pain,to his horror they came around,& the guy read the sign,“diet cola hot springs. . .watch out for falling mentos?” the glitch ran up to him,holding a piece of rock candy,“yeah,check it out!” she threw the candy up,& a mento dropped down causing a giant burst of cola to shoot up,Rancis inched slowly behind the sponge bed,but not before the guy noticed him,“HEY!” he shouted,and Rancis froze,“IT’S YOU!” he yelled,“YOU HELPED IN DESTROYING HER KART!!!!” Rancis started to panic,“I-I-I,”he stuttered,failing to formulate words,“ANSWER ME!!!” the guy screamed,“HOW ARE YOU A RACER WHEN YOU ACT LIKE THAT!?!?!?! THERE’S NO WAY YOU COULD POSSIBLY BE MEANT TO BE A TRUE RACER!!!!” and those words were what finally pushed him over the edge,he was sent spiralling into a panic as Taffyta’s words came crashing over him,panicking he curled up,covering his head with his already injured arms in a futile attempt to protect it,breathing fast,and uneven,tears pouring out of his eyes,sounds and colors blurred around him,and blended together,he couldn’t focus,all he heard was the laughing and taunting of his fellow racers as they kicked,& stepped on him,he rolled onto his side,and cried out in pain,his leg burning as if on fire,he couldn’t breathe,he was in agony,his chest hurt,everything hurt,his head pounded,trembling he tried to regain control of himself,but he felt like he was dying,his body shook as a sudden chill overtook him,a flash of heat struck his body,and he whimpered,clutching his head as it pounded fiercely,he couldn’t see,he lay there,panicking,& crying,tears flooding out of his normally calm bright blue eyes.

Vanellope stared in shock at the peanut butter cup themed racer in front of her,panicking,sobbing,clutching his head with arms that were soaked in the games equivalent of blood,she’d never seen the normally calm,and slightly vain and egotistical Rancis like this,he was also covered in chocolate mud,she shared a look with Ralph, the wrecker shrugged,as Rancis whimpered in front of them,whispering incomprehensible words,she could barely make out what he was saying,so against her better judgement,she slowly walked over to him,and sat down next to him,gently she sat him up,and pulled him into a hug,for a few minutes he continued to sob into her shoulder,but slowly he began to calm down,hiccuping slightly,as tears continued to stream down his face,she stared at him in horror,he had a black eye,a massive quickly bruising bump on his forehead,cuts all over his arms,and his ankle was swollen making it fairly obvious that it was either sprained,twisted or broken,she slowly breathed in and out,as she continued to hug him,eventually he stopped crying,and calmed down,breathing shakily,still hiccuping slightly,eventually she had to ask,“Rancis?” he looked up at her,fear evident in his eyes,“y-yes?” he stuttered,“who did this to you?” she asked him,his eyes widened,“uh-I-uh, no one!” he stammered,“I-I j-just crashed m-my k-kart!”

Vanellope shook her head,“you’re not that good a liar, and I'm not that stupid,”she said before she pulled him back into a hug,“who really did it?” he hesitated before replying,“T-Taffyta a-and the o-others,”Vanellope glitched slightly, the blue pixels made their way down her arms, and turned a peanut butter orange-brown as they enveloped Rancis.

Memories that didn’t belong to her flooded to the forefront of Vanellope’s mind,she was on the ground whimpering in pain,as Taffyta and the others kicked her,and insulted her,she was standing on the third place podium as the third place trophy was ripped from her hands and smashed upon the ground,while she was held back by Swizzle and Crumbelina,helpless to stop them,she was peering out from behind a jawbreaker watching the glitch make a deal with the big guy and wishing she’d thought to help too,she was lying in a chocolate mud puddle while Taffyta taunted her and kicked her,before driving away,and calling over her shoulder how she would never be a true racer,because she was just too pathetic,she gasped as she was pulled back to reality while Rancis hugged her,gripping her like a lifeline,she was horrified that Taffyta would do that,not just to her,but to one of her own friends,she realized that the Rancis she dealt with around Taffyta was merely an act,a cleverly constructed mask to hide his true feelings and personality,“Rancis,I-I’m sorry!” she said quietly,“wh-why?” he asked,“I’m th-the one who sh-should a-apologize to y-you,”she shook her head,“it’s fine,”she replied,but he shook his head,“n-no it’s n-not!” he insisted,“I-I helped torment you f-for y-years, you can’t f-forgive me! You-you can’t f-forg-give me! Y-you have to h-hate m-me!!” but she just pulled him into another hug,“but I do forgive you,”she said,“and I could never hate you,”he stared at her before whispering,“I’m sorry,”almost to quietly for Ralph to hear,and Vanellope smiled,“I forgive you!” she said cheerfully,“now let’s see what we can do to fix you up and then we can do official introductions!”

Rancis winced in pain as the glitch gently wrapped a bandage around his arm,he knew she was trying to help,but it still hurt when touched,“and done!” she said,Rancis pulled his new friend into a hug,“th-thank you,”he said,and she smiled,“no problem!” she said,“and now for some introductions!” she gestured towards the big guy,“this is Stink Brain AKA Ralph!” she exclaimed,“he helped me build a real actual kart so I can race and win him back the medal he earned in Hero’s Duty,”she giggled,“heh, Doodie!” Rancis looked up at Ralph,and offered him a nervous smile,after a moment Ralph returned it,“the glitch started talking again,“and my name’s Vanellope Von Shweetz!” she said,“but please just call me Vanellope!” he nodded,secretly happy to know her name as he didn’t enjoy referring to her a “the glitch” she grinned,“now,introduce yourself to Ralph!” Rancis turned to look at Ralph and took a breath before saying,“I-I’m Rancis Fl-Fluggerbutter,” Ralph nodded,“right,”he said,“now,Vanellope,we’re going to teach you how to drive,”he proceeded to create a track around the lake of cola before bringing the kart over,Vanellope jumped up and down in excitement,all the while yelling,“I’m gonna learn to drive,I’m gonna learn to drive,I’m gonna learn to-oh wait do you know how to drive?” she suddenly asked Ralph,who replied,“yeah! I mean I’ve never done it, but. . . look kid I flew a spaceship today,”Vanellope looked skeptical,“you crashed it,”she deadpanned,& Rancis giggled, before limping over to them.

“he might not know how to drive,but I do!” he told Vanellope,“I could help teach you if you want!” she beamed at him,“really?” she asked,& he nodded,“it’s the least I could do,”he replied,he climbed onto the kart so that he was more or less where Ralph had been sitting when he and Vanellope had come crashing through the secret entrance,& sat down,Vanellope climbed into the driver’s seat,& Ralph walked over to them,“Alright,”he said,“start it up!” Vanellope looked at the buttons for a while before Rancis tapped her on the shoulder and pointed out the ignition,she pressed it and the kart rattled to life,the engine humming gently,“right” Ralph said,“there are some buttons on the floor right there-” “Pedals,”Vanellope supplied,“right,pedals,”Ralph said before pressing the accelerator,the engine hummed louder,“right,that’s the go pedal-” “the accelerator or gas” Rancis told him,and he nodded before pressing the brake“and this I believe,is the stopper-” “the brake,”Rancis told them,and Ralph nodded before pressing the clutch,“and this. . .” he picked up the kart and pressed it a few more times,Ranics was about to tell them what it did when Vanellope noticed the joystick,“ooh,what’s this joystick do?” she asked before moving it forward,the kart lurched forwards,pulling Ralph onto his stomach,and Rancis yelped at the sudden movement,once the kart stopped,he explained what they did,and Ralph came up to them,“alright,that’s good,”he told Vanellope,and they continued

Vanellope was ecstatic,and called out to Ralph,“Hey Ralphie watch this!” before driving through the fence onto the unfinished track,Rancis was amazed,but a little nervous as the approached the Mentos Stalactites,and he was right to worry,as they made the jump,Vanellope glitched them higher in her excitement,and the two of them ducked to avoid hitting the mentos,they fell down and splashed into the lake causing it the send several bursts of hot cola up,they splashed back down,sending drops of hot liquid over to ralph,who tried to dodge,they heard his cries of,“Ooh!” “Ouch!” and,“Hot Cola!” before Vanellope pulled up next to him,“so how did I do?” she asked,Rancis put a hand on her shoulder,she turned to him,and he offered her a smile,“you did good!” he told her and she grinned at him,& Ralph just nodded,& said,“but you’ve got to get that glitching under control,”Vanellope nodded and said,“okay,I’ll work on it” before they got ready to go,before they could leave,the wall glowedd blue,and a small man dressed all in blue and a woman wearing armor burst in through the secret entrance, Ralph,Vanellope,and Rancis stared up at Sergeant Tamora Calhoun,& Fix-It Felix Jr. in complete and utter shock.

Rancis stared up at Calhoun and Felix, mouth gaping, eyes wide,Ralph chuckled awkwardly and said,“heh, uh Felix I can explain,” Felix jumped down and hugged Ralph,“you don’t have to brother,”he said,“Q-bert and his friends told me what happened, and I’m sorry you felt like you had to win a medal to be a good guy,I should have stood up to Gene for you” Calhoun stared at Rancis and Vanellope,“so you decided to get attatched to kids huh?” she asked,and Vanellope shook her head,“nope! I’m going to get his medal back,and Rancis here helped me learn to drive!” Ralph nodded and Felix stared at the kart Vanellope and Rancis were sitting in “Ralph did you help her build this?” he asked,and the wrecker nodded,“hey Felix I was wondering,could you use that hammer of yours on Rancis?” he asked,Felix took a better look at Rancis,and gasped as he realized the state the young boy was in,in a flash he had whipped out his hammer and moved over to the kart he held out his hammer and Rancis’s eyes widened,he turned away from the handyman,hands raising in an attempt to shield his head,“it’s okay kid,”Ralph said,“Felix’s hammer fixes things,that’s why he’s called Fix-It Felix!” Rancis slowly lowered his hands and looked up at Felix who smiled gently before lightly tapping Rancis on his forehead with the golden hammer,a light cheerful *ding!* sounded and the bump vanished form Rancis’s forehead,it was as if it had never been there,Felix turned his attention to the Reeces cup boy’s black eye tapping his hammer against it,next Felix repaired his arms and finally tapped his hammer on Rancis’s broken ankle,once Rancis was healed Calhoun explained what she and Felix had been up to,Vanellope and Rancis were shocked to learn about what Cy-Bugs could do,and Ralph was relieved that Felix and Calhoun had destroye the nest of eggs,apologizing to Calhoun again and again for almost screwing up her game,then he explained what he and Vanellope had been doing they agreed that Vanellope had to race and they all walked out of the volcano,only to be met with King Candy and his guards, and taken to the Fungeon.

“why Ranthitsh I’m disthapointed in you!” King Candy said,“palling around with the glitsch,do you really think thisth isth how to win a racthe?”he asked,and Rancis gulped before replying,“she has a name! And She isn't a Glitch,she’s my friend!” King Candy stood there a moment,mouth agape,before he grabbed Rancis by his collar and pulled him along to view several cells,Felix and Calhoun were chained up in the first,Ralph in the second and Vanellope in the third,“lastht chancth Fluggerbutter!” he said,“it’sth her or Racthing!” Rancis glared at him defiantly,“Vanellope!” he said,“I choose Vanellope!” Candy leered at him,“that can be arranged little guy!” he said,dragging Rancis to a locked vault,“thisth isth the code room” he said “I deleted the glitschesth code and now I’m going to delete yoursth too!” the Reeces cup boys eyes widened in shock,“you wanted to be with her,now you can be!” Candy shouted,“the racthersth will hate both of you now and the troublemakersth will be sent back to their gameths where I will wipe their memorieths of todayths events!” you two will live asth outcasthsths,and there’ths nothing you can do about it!”

He jumped into the vault, pulling Rancis with him, and made his way over to a code box marked “Rancis Fluggerbutter” he began pulling wires out of it, Rancis cried out in pain as his code was violently ripped from his body, he stared at his hands, orange-brown pixels flashed within them, he was glitching, he would soon be sharing Vanellope’s fate, he was turning into nothing more than a glitch,Candy laughed and Rancis began to loose consciousness, the last thing he heard was King Candy saying,“hoo-hoo! Game Over Glitcth!”

When he opened his eyes he saw a girl standing over him,she had black hair dotted with pieces of multicolored candy,it was tied back in a ponytail with a length of licorice,her amber eyes were staring at him with concern,“are you okay?” she asked,holding out a hand to help him up,he took it and she pulled him up, no sooner had he stood up than pain wracked his small body,he cried out,orange-brown pixels flashing around him,as his code broke up and reassembled itself,the girl gasped,“I’m not the only one anymore” she whispered,“n-not the o-only what any-anymore?” he stammered, whimpering in pain,“the only glitch,”she replied,“oh Rancis what did he do to you?” he stared at her,“i-is that my name?” he asked,her mouth fell open on pure shock,“y-you don’t remember your own name?” she asked and he sadly shook his head,wincing as it pounded,pain wracking him once again,“I think I recognize you,but I can’t remember your name,”he told her “I’m sorry.”

She stared at him a moment before pulling him into a hug,“don’t worry,I’ll help you get your memories back Rancis!” she promised,with a determined expression on her face,“but for now here’s the key information you need to know,your name is Rancis Fluggerbutter,you’re a racer that King Candy turned into a glitch because you stuck up for me my name is Vanellope,Vanellope Von Shweetz,and I’m a glitch but I’m going to be a Racer,and we can race if we cross the finish during the Random Roster Race,we already paid our fee of one gold coin!” Rancis looked at her,“but don’t we need karts to race?” he asked and she shook her head,“nope we have my Candy Kart!” she said cheerfully,“but we need to find Ralph and Felix before they leave with that Calhoun lady,King Candy wiped their memories of today,so we need to help them,” Rancis stared at her “why before they leave the game?” he asked and Vanellope sighed,“because Glitches can’t leave their games,and since we’re glitches we can’t leave,”she replied and Rancis stared down at his shoes,“oh” he said, “but why do we need to find them?” he asked,“because my kart is kind of. . . sort of. . . broken,” she replied putting her hand to the back of her neck, she moved to the side to reveal the shattered remains of a kart, Rancis stared at it,“okay,”he said “let’s go find them” Vanellope nodded “Let’s go!” she said grabbing Rancis’s hand and pulling him along,not noticing how he blushed at the sudden contact.

'Don’t worry Rancis I promise you no matter what it takes,I’ll get your memories back,until then I’ll help you remember!'

(somewhere from 4 to 6 hours later)

(somewhat Candlehead's POV)

"for the last time I'm sorry!" Candlehead pleaded, following Taffyta as she stomped away,"I don't want to hear it Candlehead!" she screamed "if Those Glitches race It's all your fault!" Candlehead stood there as her friend walked off she considered going after her but her thought process was interrupted by a cry of  "LOOK OUT!!!!!" she turned in time to see a flurry of black, mint green, brown, and golden yellow barreling towards her, she tried to dodge but it hit her, right in the chest, she toppled yelping in shock, she stared indignantly at the boy and girl above her,"the girl offered her a hand which she begrudgingly took, once on her feet she took a better look at the people who'd crashed into her, the girl who'd helped her up was staring at her, an apologetic look in her amber eyes, she had a double Reeces cup wrapper skirts mint green hoodie with licorice laces, her black hair was pulled back in a ponytail with a length of licorice, and an assortment of hard candies in various colors were scattered throughout her vantablack bangs, the boy next to her was wearing a brown blazer with golden-yellow stripes down the sleeves, his pants were the same color and he had a bright orange shirt under the blazer, his hair was golden-yellow, and his bangs were curled up in the front, he stared at her, bright blue eyes full of concern, and worry, "are you okay?" he asked her and she nodded, "yeah,I-" she stopped, "wait a second. . . YOU TWO ARE THE GLITCHES KING CANDY WARNED US ABOUT!!!!!" she shrieked, at the mention of the kings name his eyes widened and he dropped to the ground, glitching pixels colored a peanut butter brown flashed as his code flickered, disassembling and reconstructing itself, he was shaking and looked like he was having trouble breathing, tears were flooding out of his eyes, and he was whimpering, whispering words too quiet to hear.

(somewhat Rancis's POV)

Rancis clutched his head as he was wracked with pain, he shivered as a sudden chill went down his spine, and whimpered when a heat flash struck him, his head pounded and everything hurt, he couldn't breathe, he was panicking, breathing uneven and even unstable as he felt his body glitch painfully sounds blended together and all he could see were brown pixels, he gasped for breath as tears streamed out of his eyes, he rolled onto his side, whimpering in pain, when he felt someone hugging him, gently yet firmly, after a few minutes he slowly began to calm down, he looked up at the racer hugging him, she smiled down at him,"I'm Candlehead!" she said,"and I'm sorry for what I said, can I know your names?" Vanellope nodded,"Vanellope Von Shweetz just Call me Vanellope or Vanny for short!" she said, Rancis hiccuped a few times,"R-Rancis Fl-Fluggerbutter,"he stammered, and Candlehead smiled,"It's nice to meet you!" she said,"if I may ask, why do you want to race?"

Vanellope grinned,"I want to race because I can feel that I was meant to do it,I can feel it in my code! Rancis needs his memories restored and Sour Bill told us that by racing we could reset the game, which will get his memories back!" she had a determined look on her face as she pulled Rancis into a hug, Rancis blushed, face turning a strawberry red, he muttered something under his breath,"what was that Rancis?" Vanellope asked, Rancis blushed bright red,"you-you look cute when you're determined,"he whispered, Vanellope turned scarlet, and Candlehead giggled, "awwww you 2 are sooooo cute together!!!!!" she exclaimed,"I-shut up!" Vanellope said as Rancis turned bright red, they were interrupted by a yell of,"THERE THEY ARE GET THOSE GLITCHESTH!!!!!!" they turned, and there was King Candy anger evident in his eyes, Vanellope glanced at Rancis, noticing that he was starting to slip back into panic, she grabbed his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze, he blushed but managed to calm down long enough for the 3 of them to get the heck out of there.

They were almost to Diet Cola Mountain when Rancis bumped into someone, they heard a small grunt, he looked up to see a small man dressed all in blue, save for the brown utility belt and golden hammer, "oh my, are you kids okay?" he asked and Vanellope stared up at him, "y-your Fix-It Felix!" she exclaimed, and he stared at her, "alright kids get out of here! we don't have time for babysitting!" a new voice said, "now wait ma'am, maybe they can help us get home!" Felix started to say, Rancis stared up at Felix and Calhoun mouth gaping, eyes wide,"e-excuse me but, w-where's Wreck-It Ralph?" he asked in a small voice and Felix gasped, "oh my land! we lost Ralph!! we need to go find him!!!" Candlehead stared off into the distance, "is that him?" the candlehat wearing racer asked pointing to a large man with huge hands and feet, and Felix nodded, "that's him!" he said before calling out "Ralph!" the wrecker turned and laughed, "Felix!" the 2 ran up and hugged each other, "I missed you brother!" Felix said, "sorry,I got lost in this weird cotton candy trees," Ralph said, and Vanellope snapped her fingers, "wait a second, THAT'S IT!!!" she cried, "did you see a race kart in those trees?" she asked and Ralph nodded, "yeah, looked like a Reeces cup to be honest,"he said and Vanellope grinned, Rancis gave Vanellope a small smile, "that sounds familiar,"he whispered softly, and she gave him a wide smile, "maybe your memories are starting to come back!" she said happily, and Rancis smiled, "maybe,"he whispered, "I'm sorry but can someone please explain what the heck is happening?" Calhoun asked. . .

"Alright!" said Ralph, "Let's go make us some candy Karts!" and Candlehead laughed, "YAY KART BAKING!!!!!!" she exclaimed happily jumping around, Vanellope grinned,Felix smiled,Calhoun. . .well she never really smiles before the wedding at the end of the movie, even Rancis had to smile at Candlehead's overreaction to Ralph's words, Vanellope was exited, soon they could get her friends memories back, and then they could finally race together!

Chapter Text

"Hurry up!" Candlehead called, they were halfway to the kart bakery and she was exited to see what kind of kart her new friend would soon have, Vanellope drove her newly fixed kart up to the entrance and they were relieved to see that the old guard was on break which made sneaking in a whole heck of a lot easier once inside the bakery lit up and several kart models appeared, after a moment of looking around at the different options Rancis chose a kart model similar to Vanellope's but slightly smaller, the wall opened and a cheerful male voice said "Welcome to the Bakery! Let's bake a Car!" very enthusiastically,

They moved over to the first section, ""you have one minute, ready set GO!" "Step one, Mixing!" Candlehead said along with the overenthusiastic voice, under the guidance of Candlehead Rancis managed to put all the right ingredients into the bowl where a giant mixer beat the all together into batter, next step "Baking!" Rancis ran over to the giant pump and jumped up and down on it, but try as he might he couldn't get it to the right temperature so he had to enlist the help of Ralph. . . who promptly broke the pump for the second time and had to blow into the pipe to get it to the right temperature, next up "Decorating!" Rancis aimed the canon at the wheels, then upon Vanellope's insistence he tried for "a butt-load(Vanellope's words not mine)" of frosting. . . and accidentally hit the frosting and sprinkles glass containers causing, the whole section to collapse, "Congratulations You did it and Here's Your Car!" the voice said, what came out looked slightly like Vanellope's kart but with a different color scheme, "wow" Rancis breathed in awe, "it's beautiful!" he told Vanellope, who grinned and grabbed some icing, "come on!" she said, "a work of art like this must be signed!" a few moments later the kart had "RV1" written on the sides, "it stands for Rancis and Vanellope," Rancis explained to Vanellope blushing slightly, "I couldn't have done it without you guys, thank you!" Vanellope grinned and hugged him, not seeing how he turned a bright shade of cherry red, but once she did she turned a fiery shade of scarlet.

Just as they were about to leave the door opened and there was Sour Bill, "eh whatever," he said, "go race, I want this game to be restored already" before walking out Candlehead blinked in confusion, "that was weird" she said before turning back to Rancis and Vanellope, "AAAWWWWWWWW" she exclaimed upon seeing them hugging, "YOU GUYS ARE SO CUUUUUTE!!!!!!!" they promptly blushed bright red again, "sh-shut up" Vanellope said while Rancis stood there, face bright scarlet, not sure what to say, he smiled a little, watching Vanellope chase Candlehead around the bakery, screaming at her, still blushing bright red,Ralph who had been staring at Vanellope's kart gasped,"wait a minute, I remember now!" he exclaimed,"so do I" Felix said,"and I want to apologize ma'am, for reminding you of your past," Calhoun stared at him,then she smiled,"it's fine," she said,unfortunatly their moment was interrupted by King Candy bursting in, "GET THOSTHE GLITSCHESTH!!!!!!" he cried to Winchel and Duncan,the 2 donut cops ran in, "okay, time to go!" Vanellope cried hopping into her kart, Candlehead jumped into the Ice Screamer,Ralph hopped onto the back of Vanellope's kart, and Felix and Calhoun joined Rancis in the RV1,they all stepped on the gas and sped out of the bakery,KC and the guards hot on their trail. . .

they went on a chase through the candy cane tree forest(Ralph was covered in candy canes when they exited),Ice Cream Mountains(Felix was shivering after that one),King Candy's castle(Vanellope was laughing as they destroyed wall after wall in the massive building),the dump(Calhoun spat out old pieces of sugary food after they drove through a pile of junk), and finally right into the wall of Diet Cola Mountain losing their pursuers at last.

Ranics skidded to a stop right before he hit the wall, Vanellope pulled up next top him and moved her pink racing goggles up and grinned at him, they got out of their karts, and smiled at each other. . . before Candlehead slammed into them "GROUP HUG!!!!!!" she screamed, pulling Ralph, Calhoun, and Felix into thee hug, Vanellope snorted with laughter, and Rancis felt a laugh bubbling within him, he grinned, soon they were all rolling around on the floor, howling with laughter, it was a good ending to a rather crazy day, and they soon began to doze off, none of them cold as the volcano provided them with heat, the last this Rancis remembered before he drifted off was thinking 'thanks for everything Vanellope, I hope one day I can repay your kindness,' blushing slightly at the thought of Vanellope,Rancis closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.

(Candlehead's POV)

'okay, you've got this' I thought, 'just get them to admit how they feel and the rest will happen on its own!'  I'd convinced Felix to ask Calhoun out on a date because it's obvious that they like each other, now the tricky thing is that I also noticed that Vanellope and Rancis like each other and every time I try to talk to either of them about it Rancis goes strawberry red or Vanellope tells me to shut up. . . or both of them go red and Vanellope tells me to shut up, but I do have a plan to get them to admit how they feel about each other, I'll just ask both of them who they value the most while the other is listening, they'll have to tell each other then! right? right! wow Candlehead you're such a genius you scare me sometimes! anyway, I've got to go help Felix get ready because reasons! bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(regular POV. . . [so I guess try to go back to visualizing as you read if you can, thanks!])

Candlehead walked over to Rancis, the peanut butter glitch(and yes he is a glitch at this point in the story, read like chapter 3 or 4 it's explained there) was staring at Vanellope, who was practicing her driving, with a caring look on his face, actually caring isn't the right word, more like a loving look, he might as well have had heart bubbles floating above him, something that to Candlehead only re-enforced her belief that the two were perfect for each other, she waited for Vanellope to drive up to them, and quickly diverted Rancis's attention by asking(conveniently loud enough for Vanellope to hear), "say Rancis I've been meaning to ask you, who do you care for the most?" Rancis blushed and whispered something,"what was that?" Candlehead asked, and Rancis whispered it a bit louder,"didn't quite catch that," Candlehead told him, Rancis blushed a fiery shade of scarlet,"V-Vanellope," he stuttered, the aforementioned glitch blushed bright red and Candlehead turned to her,"and who do you care for the most Vanellope?" she asked, the blushing Glitch muttered something,"say again?" Candlehead asked and Vanellope muttered it a bit louder,"one more time," Candlehead told her, Vanellope squeezer her eyes shut and said,"Rancis okay?!?!?" before she gasped, blushing bright scarlet, the Peanut Butter glitch turned fiery red and Candlehead smirked,"I knew it!" she cried triumphantly, and started doing a weird victory dance,"I'm such a wonderful super geniuuusssss!" she sang in an extremely annoying tone Vanellope glared at her before pelting her in the head with a candy rock, Candlehead passed out and Rancis turned to face Vanellope,"d-did you really mean it?" he asked and Vanellope nodded "I guess I did" sh replied still blushing slightly,"Rancis walked up to her smiling softly,"can I hug you?" he asked quietly, Vanellope nodded and the two of them quietly hugged each other for a few moments, sadly this was interrupted by Candlehead jolting back into consciousness with a gasp before jumping around the cavern shrieking; "THE SHIP HAS SAILED!!!!! THE SHIP HAS SAILED!!!! sort of BUT IT'S GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!!" Vanellope and Rancis glared at her with a murderous look in their eyes before the began chasing her around the cavern with rock candies while she shrieked,"I LIVE WITHOUT REGRETS!!!!!"

On the off chance that anyone actually liked this story to begin with, I would like to apologize. This is a story that, if I’m honest, I’m not exactly proud of. While the concept was, and still is something I’d like to entertain the idea of, the writing here is, well. . . Not.

If you compare this story to one of my more recent ones, you’ll see that my writing here is actually pretty bad. Mistakes in grammar, paragraphs that drag on for far too long, and dialogue being given without a specification as to who’s speaking. And that’s just the superficial things on the surface.

add to that the fact that this story is, in all honesty, pretty cringy, and you can see why this needs to happen.

I’ve decided to try and rewrite it to give it both better grammar, and a more compelling plot. This should allow me to both further improve my writing, and provide content for any people who, for some god unknown reason, liked this story.

that aside, if you did like the story, keep an ear to the proverbial ground for the rewrite. And thank you for taking the time to read this.
