"How is he doing?" Asked Dabi from the door, looking at Kurogiri who was sitting next to a unconscious Shigaraki Tomura.
"He's just sleeping. He has a fever but he will be okay." Answered the purple mist man and he stood up to leave the room. "Don't bother him Dabi!" Kurogiri said before he left Shigaraki's room and closed the door.
Dabi went into his own room but he couldn't stay there for too long. Believe it or not, he was worried about his boss. He stood up and went to Shigaraki's room. He heard no sound coming from inside so he assumed the blue haired man was still asleep.
He opened the door and tried to go to the bed as quietly as possible. When he stepped on a cracking board Shigaraki stirred a little in his sleep but didn't wake up. Dabi approached the bed and sat down on the edge next to the young man.
Dabi looked at Shigaraki's features. He looked so much younger in his sleep. In the dim light of the room Dabi noticed all the little scars around his eyes and by his chapped lips which still looked soft and the little mole on his chin. His skin was pale, almost like a porcelain doll. His light blue hair was covering half of his face and the pillow under his head. The locks were like the waves of the sea, beautiful but hiding something terrifying.
Dabi stroked some soft blue hair out of Shigaraki's face and the next moment his eyes opened. Shining red eyes met those piercing turquoise ones.
"Dabi, what are you doing?" Asked Shigaraki confused but he didn't move away from Dabi's touch.
"I take care of you." Answered the black haired man.
"Why?" Asked the younger and sat up in his bed.
"Why not?" Said Dabi easily.
"Why would you take care of me? Out of all people me?" Asked Shigaraki, his voice was trembling and Dabi saw the tears dwell up in his eyes.
"Because you are very..." Dabi's voice became lower and lower as he spoke. "...very imortant to me." He muttered the last part so quiet that Shigaraki couldn't hear it.
"What did you say burnt nugget?"Shigaraki asked confused and a little bit annoyed.
Dabi let out a sigh and repeated the sentence.
"You are very important to me, Tomura..."
Shigaraki was taken aback. He slapped his face to check if he really is awake and not dreaming.
"Hah?! Why did you do that?" Dabi asked, suprised by the other's sudden act.
"Why am I important to you?" Shigaraki said, not caring about the black haired man's question.
"Because..." Dabi started but he didn't know how to finish the sentence. Should he tell the truth? "...I don't know." He couldn't say it just like that. After all confessing your love to your own boss you poke all the time is really fucking hard.
"I-I-I-" Shigaraki stuttered. He couldn't say anything. He turned his face away from Dabi but he noticed the blush on the blue haired man's face. "I'm just going to decay myself." Shigaraki muttered loud enough for Dabi to hear and raised his hand towards his neck.
"NO!" Dabi yelled as he grabbed his boss' wrist before he could touch his neck. Shigaraki turned back to face him, confused about how that single word contained so much worry and despair. Dabi let go of his wrist. He sighed and continued, this time quieter than before. "You wanna know why you're important to me?" He asked and when Shigaraki nodded he continued. "Ok, I love you."
"T-that can't be true." Shigaraki said. He put his hand on his neck, one finger a cm away. His eyes were full of tears. Dabi grabbed his wrist and pulled it away from his neck a second time.
"Don't think I'm going to let you do that!" The black haired man yelled and the tears finally escaped from Shigaraki's eyes. He crawled away from Dabi and cried in his hands, a finger raised safely.
"Hey!" Dabi started in a smooth tone. He climbed on the bed next to the crying man and hugged him, trying to comfort him. "Don't cry!"
"Stop!" Screamed Shigaraki and pushed Dabi away. "Leave me alone!" He yelled and run out the room tears in his eyes.
"Wait!" Dabi shouted after Shigaraki and followed him. The younger ran straight to the roof of the bar. "Shigaraki! What are you thinking to do?" Dabi asked, his voice was ful of anxiety.
"Ummm..." Shigaraki couldn't say a word. His troath was sore from the crying and he backed to the edge of the roof.
"Tomura..." Started Dabi "Don't do what I think you're going to do! Please!" He pleaded ready to jump and hold him back if he takes another step to the edge.
"N-no." Shigaraki took another step and now he was on the edge.
"Shigaraki!" Dabi yelled and ran to the blue haired man who was about to step off. He grabbed his arm and tried to pul him back but Shigaraki was suprisingly strong. "DON'T DO IT, PLEASE!" He begged in a shaky voice. If he could cry there would be rivers of tears streaming down Dabi's face.
"Dabi, let me go! I-I have to..." Shigaraki said on a shaky voice. He struggled a little and he managed to break free from the older male's embrace.
"Why...?" Dabi started but he couldn't even finish that one word before Tomura jumped off the roof. Dabi could've saved him but he froze and just looked at that spot his boss... No, his love stood only a moment ago.
Dabi never came to know Tomura's story but he know it was horrible enough to broke a man as strong as him. Dabi thought Tomura would deserve to be in heaven after all the suffering in this world but he was sure he end up in hell. And Dabi was sure they will meet in hell not too much time later.
(Of course, if Kurogiri finds out Dabi was there when his son jumped off and didn't stop him, he is as good as dead.)
