It has been a few weeks now. Senkuu really thought with time his crush on his upperclassmen Gen Asagirir would fade but no. His feelings only got worse. Senkuu was still able to act normal around Gen. He wasn’t some blushing school girl but, he did have to admit when Gen was close to him Senkuu rather enjoyed their time together. Even if most of the time Senkuu would be a sarcastic know it all. Gen was more than happy to make an excuse to hang out together and they would… despite all Tsukasa’s and Taiju’s and now even Kohaku’s teasing.
“Hey Senkuuuu,” Kohaku deviously sang.
“What Kohaku?” Senkuu looked up from putting on house slippers.
“You were out a bit late… Any reason?” She asked.
“Out with a friend,” Senkuu replied.
“Ohh and who would that be,” Kohaku smirked.
“Why do you care?”
“Ohhhh~ I was just thinking you’ve been spending a lot of time with a certain someone,” Kohaku cooed.
“I hang out with Taiju and Tsukasa all the time,” Senkuu pointed out.
“Yeah but you aren’t on call with them until 12 am,” Kohaku deadpanned.
Senkuu tried to brush off the statement but he felt his face get red.
The big oaf was even worse. Kohaku was mostly quiet about it and only teased Taiju on the other hand.
“I’m so happy for you Senkuu!” Taiju pulled Senkuu into a deadly bear hug.
“Let go, big oaf!” Senkuu squmired.
“Oh right, sorry,” Taiju let go of Senkuu and Senkuu stumblemed a bit. “But this is your first crush! That’s a big deal,” Taiju proudly said.
“Please, It’s just a small crush,”
“But still! You always said you didn’t need anyone. You had science,”
“I said small,”
“So what you meant by'' You know how Taiju feels,” was just supposed to be a small crush?” Tsukasa called Senkuu out.
“Tch that’s not what I mean,” Senkuu argued back.
“Well, what do you think of him?” Taiju asked.
“He’s a real pain, you know that,” Senkuu rolled his eyes. “Senkuu chan this, Senkuu chan that,”
“And yet you indulge him?” Tsukasa said.
Senkuu opened his mouth to say something witty back but nothing.
Senkuu wasn't as loud as Taiju about his crushes but… his crush on Asagiri Gen was growing worse. Senkuu still didn’t know if that was a good thing.
How Senkuu felt was just a bunch of chemicals in his brain so it was science but it was so illogical. It didn’t have a pattern or an equation to it. If it did, would Senkuu have picked Gen?
“What do you mean you don’t want to confess?” Kohaku nearly shouted.
“Keep it down would ya?” Senkuu cleaned his ear out with his pinky.
“Why not?” Kohaku questioned.
“He’s already a pain. Besides, the crush will pass,” Senkuu replied.
“A pain? A pain you’ve been hanging out more and more,” Kohaku corrected.
“He’s an idiot. He needs help studying,” Senkuu replied.
“Ruri’s told me that he’s at the top of the class,” Kohaku crossed her arm.
“So?”
“Sounds like you’re making excuses,” Kohaku pointed out.
Senkuu finally pulled his eyes away from his computer screen to look at his step-sister. “What makes you say that?”
“You’re a lot colder when you talk about him but when you’re around him you seem so happy,” Kohaku recalled. “Even when you come home after hanging out. You’re smiling,”
“Am I not allowed to smile?” Senkuu sarcastically asked.
“Senkuu,” Kohaku groaned. “You know what I’m talking about,”
Senkuu wanted to say Kohaku was wrong. His crush might be growing but it wasn’t that bad yet. Right?
“Senkuu chan!” Gen loosely put his arms around Senkuu’s neck.
Why is it always at my shoe locker?
“Oh hello Taiju kun,” Gen turned his head to greet Taiju.
“Oh hey Asagiri,” Taiju seemed hesitant to say.
“Something you want, Gen?” Senkuu asked.
Senkuu had started to use Gen’s first name more and more. Senkuu rationalized it by saying they’ve known each other long enough and Gen called him by his first name.
Gen rested his chin on Senkuu’s shoulder as he let out a hum like he was thinking. “Nope, I just want to say hi,” Gen let go and backed off.
“You just came here to annoy me?” Senkuu smirked.
Senkuu missed the physical touch but didn’t bring it up.
“Wha?? Senkuu chan you hurt me,” Gen whined. “I just wanted to see my favorite underclassman,”
“Senkuu got on his shoes and turned to face Gen. “Is it really worth bringing up if you act like a middle schooler?” Senkuu raised an eyebrow.
“Ude- ray,” Gen huffed.
“See?”
“Whatever,” Gen playfully rolled his eyes. “But really I just wanted to say hi. As much as I’d love to banter with you more, I got to get home. See yaaaaaa dear Senkuu chan,” Gen waved.
Senkuu turned his attention back to Taiju who stood there dumbfounded.
“Dear? Wha- I- Senkuu, Asagiri hugged you?? From behind? And you didn’t push him off?” Taiju questioned, not even finishing a full thought.
“He’s too clingy. There’d be no point to try,” Senkuu shrugged.
“But you don’t even let me or Tsukasa hug you as long,” Taiju pointed out.
“Well you two crush me with your death grip,” Senkuu scoffed.
“But- but,” Taiju stammered.
“It’s not like I wanted him to hug me,” Senkuu huffed.
“Soooo. Can I hug you?” Taiju asked. Senkuu cringed. “Yeah, that’s what I thought,”
“So we all see it?” Kohaku asked.
“Even I see it!” Taiju shouted.
“Neither of them is good at hiding it,” Ruri added.
“Even at lunch, Gen will randomly talk about Senkuu,” Tsukasa recalled.
It was before school one morning. Tsukasa, Kohaku, Ruri, and Taiju all meet up to talk about their friend’s crushes on each other.
“I can’t tell if they’re dense or just too proud to confess,” Ruri stated
“Prideful, if they would both stop being so prideful we won’t be here in the first place,” Kohaku sighed.
“Soooo what can we do?” Taiju questioned.
“We could just leave them alone,” Ruri timidly pointed out.
“Normally I would agree but seeing the way they look at each other,” Tsukasa replied. “Worst part is I don’t even think Senkuu knows he’s doing it,”
“Pinning idiots,” Kohaku rolled her eyes. “I say we come up with a plan to get them together!”
“Ummm.. Is that really -,” Ruri started.
“Oh that’s a great idea!” Taiju boomed.
“Like setting them out on a proper date?” Tsukasa smirked.
“And not at our house please,” Kohaku added. “I can’t stand seeing them being all cute,”
Gen hid around the corner from where the others were. He had just come to ask Ruri a favor but now his face was bright red with blush.

They're going to do WHATT!?
And so the plan “Get Senkuu and Gen together so they’ll stop pining after each other
and making all of us jealous
” started.
“Sengen” for short.
