The first time was a random tuesday. Amy arrived early to the precinct so she didn't question the empty chair at her coworker's desk. He would probably be late.
She got up to make herself a coffee and Rosa, who was also early (man, halloween did bring a lot of crime, everyone was so busy), asked her to go get her a box from the evidence room. She was about to say no, but she looked closely. Rosa didn't look like she had left the precinct in a really long time. So she agreed, a little scared for her safety if she said anything else, and went down to the evidence room.
While getting there, she was thinking about the case. Maybe the perp was never in the house? But as soon as she opened the door all those thoughts washed away.
"CAN YOU SEE THAT I'M THE ONE WHO UNDERSTANDS YOU"
Jake was singing.
"BEEN HERE ALL ALONG…"
Really loud. He was practically performing at this point. With some murderer weapon as his mic? What?
"SO WHY CAN'T YOU SEE E E, YOU BELONG WITH ME E E" And as she was taking her phone out to record that precious moment he turned around and saw her.
"...you belong with me" he finished in whispers.
"Sorry, Peralta! Didn't know you gave concerts…"
He rolled his eyes. Was he blushing?
"Was that Taylor Swift?"
"Oh, shut up!" He was definitely blushing, and this was the best day of her life!
