There was a strange man in the town of Arkanis, the people there knew he was a changeling. His red hair and green eyes so fair, and his body so pale and lithe. His father, Brendol, had whipped and burned him but the fairy would not leave and return his human son to him. He eventually gave up these vain efforts and raised the changeling, who he named Armitage.
Armitage grew to be as bitter and resentful as he was beautiful. "I wish death upon my father!" He would cry out into the night and lament his powerlessness, he could hold no iron tools. No knife or scissors.
One night, while Armitage was out for a walk and no moon hung in the sky, his cry was answered. "How would you do it?" Came a deep voice from the dark path.
When Armitage looked behind himself he saw a great black dog with glowing red eyes and a long scar across his face. "I would cut him open and take out his black heart. I would burn him and make him suffer!"
The black dog came to circle Armitage, "I can do those things," he said, "but you must do something for me."
Armitage scowled at the beast. "What do you want?"
The dog smiled at him a horrible smile, drool dripping down his long fangs. "It is nothing you need worry about," he said. "You are so beautiful yet you have not fled me, marry me and I will kill whoever you wish; whenever you wish it."
Of all the things the monster could have wanted, Armitage had not expected him to want such a thing as marriage. "I will marry you only after you make my father suffer and present his heart to me," Armitage told him. "What is your name, black dog?"
"My name is Kylo Ren. What is the name of my husband to be?"
"It is Armitage." And then, magic! The black dog transformed into the most handsome young man Armitage had ever seen. His hair still black as pitch and his face still scarred but his eyes now a rich brown. "Oh!" Armitage gasped.
"Armitage," said Kylo Ren, "I will make your father suffer. He will know it was you that sent me. I will eat all but his heart, I will give it to you in the hollow of his skull."
The changeling blushed deeply over his high cheeks. "That would be a fine gift." He said. Kylo Ren smiled at him and with a twist of thick smoke he was gone.
The next morning all that was left of Brendol was his bloody skeleton, the skull missing, and no trace of Armitage anywhere. But now if one where to walk his path at night they would catch a glimpse of him before a horrible black dog came to eat them.
