Lena stood on her tippy toes, trying desperately to reach the tallest corners of their penthouse to hang more artificial cobwebs. It was her and Kara’s turn hosting the Halloween party, and she didn’t want to disappoint anyone. Kara had always gone all out -- decorations, snacks, drinks, atmosphere -- and Alex and Kelly obviously knew how to throw a party, having thrown Lena’s bachelorette party. Nia and Brainy always had the cops called on their events; they got so wild. Lena knew she had to measure up, even now that there were children in the mix.
She stood on the tips of her shiny black Louboutins, even giving a little hop to try to reach, but it was no use. She was too short. She’d have to get Kara to put it up when she finished getting Lyra ready.
She had just decided to give up when she was gently lifted into the air and brought to rest in a seated position on Kara’s broad shoulder.
“Need a lift?” Kara grinned from below her as she slowly floated up toward the elusive corner.
Lena giggled like a schoolgirl. It didn’t matter how long they had been together, she would never be used to Kara just casually using her powers -- especially in the bedroom -- and it would never not make her giggle like a babbling brook. Kara’s strength was easily one of the sexiest perks of her powers, and being perched up here on her shoulder like she weighed nothing as her wife literally flew her around their penthouse...well, she tried not to be turned on thinking about it.
The doorbell rang and Kara shouted, “It’s open!”
Alex, Kelly, and their little girl, Esme, stepped through the door, the two moms dressed as pirates, and the little one dressed as a parrot. Esme was apparently obsessed with birds, as little kids often are, and so this was the best family costume the two of them could come up with to accompany a bird around.
“Wow! You guys really went nuts,” Kelly said, looking around at the decorations in astonishment.
There were cobwebs, fog, dim green and purple lighting in one room, soft orange glows in another filled with pumpkins (for the kids). The drinks sported neon colors and smoky dry ice. Lena had bought black vodka for effect, and found some crystal glasses shaped like skulls for everyone to drink out of. She’d even gone and researched kiddie cocktails and picked up some eyeballs and things to float in the children’s drinks.
Kara grinned, floating gently to the floor and lifting Lena off her shoulder, setting her gracefully on the ground.
“It was all Lena,” she informed them with a proud smile. She let her hand run down Lena’s back and briefly grabbed her ass. Lena tried not to react the way her body wanted to. Kara knelt down and got face level with Esme.
“Wow! You look great! Are you a parrot?”
Esme merely squawked in response. Kara grinned.
“Well, you’re the coolest parrot I’ve ever seen! Let’s see you fly!” She reached out and picked up the little bird, zooming her carefully around the living room. She was only floating a foot or so off the floor, but Esme squealed with delight all the same.
“Be careful, darling,” Lena cautioned, before turning back to Alex and Kelly. “Well,” she said, taking in their costumes, “Love the pirate look,” she said with a teasing arch of her brow.
Alex rolled her eyes. “What the hell else goes with a damn parrot?”
“Language!” Kelly admonished.
“Anyway,” Alex continued, as if she hadn’t heard her wife, “where’s my niece? And what the hell are you supposed to be? And why the heck does Kara have a mustache?”
“Language! ” Kelly hissed again.
Lena grinned at Kelly’s futile efforts to reform Alex’s colourful vocabulary. She had been trying for the last 5 years, with very little improvement, but Lena had to admire her efforts. At least she got Alex to stop saying ‘fuck’.
“Kara and I are Gomez and Morticia Addams, of course,” she replied, gesturing down to her tight black dress. “And Lyra --” she turned and called down the hall, “Lyra! Your aunts are here, come on out!”
A little girl of no more than six ran out of a bedroom down the hall, her sleek ebony hair pulled into two braided pigtails that swung wildly against her black dress. She raced toward her aunts and nearly dove into their arms yelling, “Auntie Alex! Auntie Kelly!”
“Hey kiddo!” Kelly greeted warmly, pulling the girl into her arms in a gripping hug. “Let me guess, you’re Wednesday Addams?”
Lyra nodded proudly before jumping out of Kelly’s arms and running back to her mother’s side, clinging to her hand and staring up at her in reverie.
“I look just like mommy!”
Lena smiled down at her child with sharp crimson lips and tapped the end of the girl’s nose lightly with the tip of her finger. At that moment, Kara had decided to cease zooming Esme around and brought her over to the crowd.
She was dressed in a silk black suit with burgundy paisley embroidered into the fabric. A burgundy silk ascot wrapped around her neck and a pencil-thin black moustache clung to her upper lip. Her usually long blonde hair had been hidden under a short black wig, shiny with pomade and oil.
Upon seeing the other girl, Esme broke into a shout of glee, and the two of them went running off into the pumpkin patch room to play.
“Be careful!” Lena called after them cautiously.
“So,” Kelly began with a grin, “anything we can do to help set up?”
Lena shook her head. “The only thing left to do is add the dry ice to the drinks, and I’d feel much better if I --”
She didn’t even finish her sentence before Kara had zoomed over using her superspeed, and chiseled the dry ice with her laser vision, adding it to the glasses before appearing back at her side with a rush of wind.
“ -- did it myself,” Lena finished slowly, arching a brow high at her wife. She was trying to look haughty, but truth be told, the display of powers was sexy. And if the look on Kara’s face was anything to go by, she knew exactly what she was doing.
“Well, I guess that’s that,” Kara grinned, and then the bell rang again, announcing the arrival of guests. The party was beginning. It was time to get into character.
The party was in full swing. Halloween music thumped from Lena’s expensive sound system and strobe lights pulsed. Some of the adults were dancing to the music, others were playing party games and laughing at each other’s costumes. Children were herded into the pumpkin patch room for snacks and “scary” movies, (like Halloweentown and Hocus Pocus).
A few drinks in, Lena was really starting to get into character. Not usually someone for public displays of affection, she found she couldn’t keep her hands to herself -- not when Kara looked so dashing in her silk ascot and trousers. Hell, even the moustache was sexy! And given who their characters were, well, it made sense for her to be a little handsy, she thought.
As she brought Kara another Alderbaaren rum cocktail and herself another smoking black vodka tonic, she saw Kara’s happy drunk smile directed toward her.
“Unhappy, darling?” Kara asked with a goofy grin.
“Terribly,” she replied, dropping a kiss on her lips.
Or at least, she only meant to drop a kiss on her lips. Kara apparently had other plans, pulling her close and kissing her deeply, her tongue heavy and wet as it found its way into Lena’s mouth. Lena could barely contain the moan that built in her throat at the way Kara was dominating her mouth. Then she was gone, kissing down her chin, her neck, her arm, all the way to her hand, where she ended with a glassy-eyed, “Cara mia.”
“M-Mon cher,” she replied, still a little starstruck at having been kissed so thoroughly.
“Jesus, can you guys try to keep it in your pants while there are other people around,” Alex asked in disgust.
Truthfully, Lena had forgotten all about the guests. Kara just had that effect on her. Excusing herself to the bathroom to fix her lipstick, she slipped out of the room, trying to regain her composure.
When she returned, she had renewed confidence in her ability to be professional and mature around her wife. Sitting down, she picked up her glass and said, “Lipstick fixed.”
Kara was already staring at her intensely, like she was the single most beautiful thing she had ever seen in her life.
“Perfection achieved, my love,” she said forcefully, leaning into Lena’s vicinity again. Lena leaned back away from her.
“Darling, we have guests.”
“Yeah, you have guests,” Nia added helpfully, a blush on her cheeks.
“Look at her,” Kara said absently, staring intently at Lena as a blush rose in the pale woman’s cheeks. “I would die for her. I would kill for her. Either way, what bliss.”
Lena flushed red. She couldn’t take Kara looking at her like that. It was too much. It was making her lingerie under the tight black dress uncomfortably damp.
“Ohhhh, I see,” Kelly remarked. “They’re in character. That’s a line from the movie.”
Lena flushed again. “Well, it is Halloween,” she reminded them as sternly as she could with Kara now kissing her way up her arm. “Mon cher, do not make me chain you to the bedpost again,” she warned the approaching pair of lips that were currently traversing her bicep.
“Promise?” Kara asked, grinning wickedly in a way that made Lena squirm around looking for purchase.
“Oh what the fuck!” Alex cried, jumping out of her seat and going to grab another drink. Kelly merely giggled. She didn’t get as bent out of shape about PDA the way her wife did. Besides, everyone was a little drunk and it was a party! Let the lovers have their fun. At least they weren’t fighting. That was something Kelly had always loved about the Addams Family. They were supposed to be the ‘odd’ family. The ‘weird’ ones. But funnily enough, in the era of the American family sitcom, they were also the only healthy relationship. The only parents who didn’t threaten their spouse or pretend like they hated them, who had a healthy, loving relationship with their kids and in-laws. If only more shows displayed families like the Addams’, maybe American families wouldn’t be so fucked up.
Alex returned, gulping down a smoking glass of scotch and quickly turned toward Nia and Brainy.
“Brainy, please tell me something distracting, before you have to start planning my funeral from having to be around these two,” she said through her teeth.
Lena couldn’t help it. It was just so much fun teasing Alex. She made it so easy.
“A funeral?” She turned to Kara, grinning seductively. “Do you remember our first funeral?”
“Of course,” Kara replied, clearly catching on. “You were so beautiful -- so pale and mysterious. No one even looked at the corpse.”
Kelly giggled behind her hand as Alex pointedly tried to ignore the way Kara slid closer to Lena on the couch, her silk trousers making a thwipping noise as she went.
“Just think Gomez,” Lena said, scooting closer, her voice getting higher and breathier. “Someday we’ll be buried, side by side, six feet deep in matching coffins. Our lifeless bodies rotting together for all eternity.”
“Oh, Morticia,” Kara breathed, nearly closing the gap. “To live without you, only that would be torture.”
“A day alone, only that would be death,” Lena replied breathlessly, their faces only micrometers apart. The silly role-playing was very quickly giving way to something much more intense.
“Cara mia,” Kara moaned passionately.
“Mon sauvage,” Lena whispered, her tremulous voice revealing just how fucking ruined she was as Kara pulled her into another deep, intense, wet kiss. Her vision whited out as Kara’s tongue made its way into her mouth again, her hands groping all over her body as Lena tried desperately not to moan out loud again.
But that went out the window when Kara bit down on her lip, hard. It ripped a loud moan from her throat and she pushed herself more fully against the hard planes of her wife’s body, pressing closer closer closer. This was not a fucking act anymore. Kara had lit her up, lit her on fire. She needed to be nearer, deeper, fully encompassed by her wife. She wanted Kara inside ---
“Will you fucking cut it out?!”
The force of Alex’s yell made them break apart and also brought Lyra and Esme running in from the other room. Lena and Kara quickly pulled apart, Lena wiping her mouth on the back of her hand. She could feel hickies blooming on her neck already, but she hoped the girls wouldn’t notice.
“Mommy, what’s going on?” Esme asked, running over to Alex, who was burying her face in her hands. Five years of carefully constructing her vocabulary to exclude the word 'fuck' and the two of them had ruined all that progress in the course of one evening.
“Nothing, sweetie. Just Auntie Kara and Auntie Lena are being very bad,” she groaned, trying and failing to keep the bite out of her voice.
Esme and Lyra turned to the problem parents and Lyra frowned.
“Stop being bad Momma,” she said to Kara, her hands on her hips in Supergirl-like fashion. She turned to Lena. “You too, Mommy.”
Lena flushed. She was being reprimanded by her own child. She turned to Kara to see her looking thoroughly admonished, although she clearly found the situation amusing.
“Okay, baby. We’ll stop being bad,” Kara laughed, picking Lyra up and holding her in her lap. Esme climbed into Kelly’s lap and for the rest of the party, Lena managed to keep her wife (and herself) G-rated.
The guests had all gone, Lyra was in bed in a candy coma, and Kara was zooming around cleaning up all of the cups and plates. She had insisted Lena relax and let her do the clearing up after she had worked so hard on the prep and being the perfect hostess.
“Well, that should about do it,” Kara said, coming to a windy stop next to her on the couch. “We can get the cobwebs and pumpkins out tomorrow.”
Lena smiled, reaching over to peel the moustache off her wife’s lip.
“Thank you, darling.”
Kara grinned, taking the thin strip of hair and sticking it to the coffee table in front of them.
“Kara,” Lena groaned, sitting up to grab it, but Kara just stilled her hand, leaning in close to whisper in her ear.
“Leave it,” she breathed, her breath warm and wet in Lena’s ear. “I’ll get it in the morning.”
Lena let out a breath of anticipation. Kara began nuzzling the side of her face, dropping little kisses and nips to her skin as she trailed her mouth down the slope of her neck, up under her chin, to her lips, and up the other side of her jaw to her ear.
“Right now, we have more pressing matters to attend to,” she whispered hotly.
“Oh?” Lena asked innocently, her voice trembling. “Like what?”
With another sly, wicked grin, Kara lifted her into her arms and carried her down the hall.
“Why don’t I show you, cara mia? I’m so much better at doing.”
