“Hey, why don’t we get married?”
Just a few words can change your life forever. For the better, obviously. Naruto never thought Sakura would ask him, they hadn’t been on many dates alone after all, Sakura kept bringing Sasuke to everything he invited her to. But he supposed they were at that age where it’s normal to want to settle down and have a family. And he was so excited to finally be with the girl of his dreams!
The only catch? She wanted to get married almost right away. I mean, he had no qualms with it, he’d already waited since they were back in the academy. But he always thought Sakura would want a big, extravagant wedding, and that would take more preparation than just a week. Maybe she was just as excited to get married to him as he was with her! That must be it! And they had everything they needed, a venue, a tux and dress, and all their friends. What more could he ask for?
He was getting ready right now, in the white tux Sakura had picked out for him. But his hair just wouldn’t sit down nicely. Couldn’t today, of all days, his hair behave for once!?
He was interrupted from his battle with his hair by a knock at the door.
“Hey Naruto, you almost ready? I swear, you’re taking longer than Sakura is. What a drag…”
“Hey Shikamaru! Yeah, I’m almost done. I just can’t get my hair to stay down. And shouldn’t you be happier? It’s your friend's wedding day!”
The door opened to reveal Shikamaru, looking nice in a smooth black tux. He was going to be one of Naruto’s groomsmen, so he was glad he actually bothered with his appearance today.
“I’ll be happy when I can get out of this uncomfortable tux you made me wear. Couldn’t you have gotten Sasuke to do this instead of me?” Shikamaru whined, not wanting the responsibility. Or the tux. Or both.
“Haha, I would’ve, but Sasuke said he would be out on a mission today… I can’t believe he’s going to miss my wedding.” It was the only thing Naruto would regret about today, his best friend not making it. But Sakura said she had to have it today, and he wasn’t going to argue with his adorable future wife~
“Well, I’m pretty sure they’re ready to start, and your hair is never tame anyways, so let’s just go. The sooner we start, the sooner it’ll be over and I can change.” Shikamaru yawned, then grabbed Naruto by the elbow and dragged him out of the dressing room so he’d stop trying to fix his hair. They made their way to the hall where they were having the ceremony, Shikamaru stopped to go with the other groomsmen, it was just Kiba and Chouji. Sakura didn’t want a long parade of people going before her. It made him excited, thinking that she couldn’t wait to be married, just like him.
He had nagged Grandma Tsunade into escorting him down the aisle. He thought it would’ve made his parents proud that he had so many people that he could rely on and call friends and family. He could only hope that they would have approved of his choice in a bride as well.
As the piano started to play, Naruto and Tsunade strode down the aisle confidently, Tsunade kissed him gently on the forehead and whispered how proud she was of him before leaving him at the altar.
Next came Kiba and Hinata, Shikamaru and Temari, and Chouji and Ino. Finally, he would get to see what his dream girl looked like in a wedding dress. He only wished that Sasuke could have been here to celebrate with him…
As the music changed, and the doors opened to reveal Sakura in a simple, but elegant gown, Naruto couldn’t help but think of how lucky he was.
Sakura walked down the aisle gracefully, the bouquet of white lilies she had picked matched her dress beautifully. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. When she made it to him, he grabbed her hands and smiled brightly at her, trying to convey just how happy he was.
They went through their vows, and it finally came time to kiss the bride. Naruto lifted the veil off of Sakura’s face, but before he could kiss her, she pulled back, pulled her hands from his so she could make the Ram hand seal, and said ‘dispel’.
In a cloud of white smoke, Sakura disappeared, and it was Sasuke standing there in her place, in a sharp black tux, smirking at him.
“I believe this is the part where I kiss you dobe” was all Sasuke said before he leaned down to claim Naruto as his.
Naruto couldn’t believe what was happening, not only was Sasuke stealing his wedding, but also his first kiss! Well, his first real kiss… They had already kissed a few times in the past on accident. But how could Sasuke do this on his wedding day!? And he was stealing the wrong person! If anything, shouldn’t Sasuke be trying to get Sakura? This was all so wrong.
But at the same time, it felt so right…
Sasuke was still kissing him, it felt like his mind was in chaos. Was this really happening to him? Why would Sasuke want someone like him anyways? He had never thought this would be possible, so he went after Sakura instead all these years. If he had known… Everything would be different.
With that thought in mind, Naruto started kissing Sasuke back for real. It was only when someone coughed that they broke apart, Naruto blushing in embarrassment.
“Did you plan this from the start Sasuke?”
“No, but I couldn’t let you get married to Sakura, not without telling you how I feel. That, and she was never planning on marrying you, she was just going to send in some other ugly girl in her place as a joke. How could I let the man I love go through that?” Sasuke smiled down at him, looking every bit the part of a beaming groom.
“Well, I suppose I can accept your confession.” Naruto huffed, pouting at being tricked like this, but knowing he would be much happier with Sasuke than with anyone else.
With that out of the way, Sasuke lifted him up into a bridal carry and sprinted down the aisle through all the people still gaping at him.
“Wha-what are you doing now Sasuke-teme!?” Naruto screeched at being taken away so suddenly.
“I figured we could get started on our wedding night right away. Who needs an after party when I have you?” Sasuke smirked down at him.
Naruto could only scream about being kidnapped before being cut off by Sasuke kissing him again. He decided he could definitely get used to this, before being tossed in a bed. How did they get here so fast??
Sasuke put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door before shutting it and enjoying his new husband.
Omake:
Sakura was hiding in the seats, wearing a wig so no one would recognize her. Only Ino knew her plan to make Naruto stop hitting on her for good. She was surprised Naruto went along with it, but she knew he was an idiot who would do anything for her. She was just glad that they could find some ugly girl willing to play the part of the fake bride.
Speak of the devil, here comes the bride! She even transformed into Sakura to keep the prank going longer! Perfect!
Sakura was ready to laugh forever at the look on Naruto’s face when the girl dispelled the transformation jutsu, only to choke when it turned out to be Sasuke. And when Sasuke and Naruto kissed, she could only froth at the mouth and faint in shock.
“Uhh, I think someone died over here.”
“Just leave them, we’ve had enough excitement for one day already. At least now I can get out of this tux.”
