Focusing Chakra into my foot I hit the ground and the ground underneath the three anbu surrounding me turns to mud trapping them and before they can escape they're trapped in my earth coffin jutsu.
"Excellent Kentai! You barely use handsigns anymore." My teacher said and when I turn around to face him I see another Anbu standing beside him.
"Kentai you've been summoned." He said. "By who?" I asked confused.
I followed behind my escort to whoever summoned and I recognized the door we walked through and I rolled my eyes at who summoned me. I thanked my escort and walked into the room and he closed the door behind me.
I let out a long sigh as I walked to the center room. "Why did you summon me?"
"You had better show some respect!" Danzo said sternly and all I could do was roll my eyes.
"Right." I said and cleared my throat. "Why did you summon me? Lord Danzo." I said sarcastically with a fake smile.
His glare on me hardens but quickly softens as he puts on his own smile which makes me drop my own. "Welcome to the Foundation." He said.
I clench my hands into a fist and glare at him. "I already told you I'm not interested in the Foundation and I don't want to be part of it. I was scouted by the Anbu and that's why I've been training with them." I said angrily.
"Too bad, I already have the elders advisement and no matter how hard Lady Tsunade fights for you she will be out voted." He said and dismissed me.
"Asshole." I muttered and stormed out the room. Once the door closed I saw someone standing to my right and I glance over and see Sai.
"What are you doing here?" I asked as I walk pass him. "I heard you were summoned and wanted to know why." He said following me. "Since when are you curious?" I asked suspiciously.
"Well out of everyone I've met here you are very different from the rest." Sai said opening the door to the exit for me.
Explains why we're always attached at the hip whenever I'm around.
"Aww are you trying to say that we're friends." I said teasingly as we walked into town. "Well I guess so." Sai said awkwardly.
"Well I'm glad you're my friend I only have a few of those here. Especially since we're in the Foundation together." I said sighing at the last part.
"You're a member of the Foundation now?" He asked. "For now. I'm not letting my training with the Anbu go to waste." I said.
"I might have some good news for you. That friend you talked about that you left the village with for a while. I think he's returned." Sai said.
"Wait, really!" I said excitedly. "I've got to fi-" I stop talking suddenly hearing a loud crash a street over and hear a familiar voice yelling.
"Nevermind I think I found him." I said and waved goodbye to Sai and head to the next street. As I walk down the street I see Sakura holding Naruto by his shirt.
"Hey Sakura what are you doing to Naruto?" I asked concerned. "Oh hey, Kentai." She said dropping Naruto. "It's nothing just turns out he hasn't grown up one bit."
"Kentai!" Naruto said jumping up and looked at me in shock. "What?" I asked taking a step back as he stared at me. "You changed a lot over the year you left me and pervy sage. I mean your clothes and your hair! Did your hair grow longer?" He said stroking my hair.
"Yeah it did actually." I said and before he could respond Sakura punched Naruto sending him meters away then goes up to him and grabs him by the collar.
"What did he do this time?" I asked confused as she gripes at him. "Trust me you don't wanna know." Jiraya Sensei said. "She hasn't changed either." I muttered.
I accompanied them to Lady Tsunade's office where Naruto catches up on everything he missed since he's been gone. Soon Shikamaru and Temari walk in and we greet them.
"Hey Shikamaru, so you two are dating now?" Naruto said. "No, you idiot I'm assigned to guard her. The chunin exams are coming up and I'm in charge of them."
"The chunin exams huh?" Naruto said in thought. "By the way, you should really participate everyone else has already been promoted." I said.
"Wait, everyone! Even you Sakura?" Naruto asked shocked. "Yep but that's nothing. Kentai here is also joining the Anbu Black Ops she's already started training." She answered.
"What the Anbu!" Naruto said surprised. "Please it's not that big of a deal." I glanced at Lady Tsunade but she avoided my eyes. "Anyway, why don't you say hi to Kakashi Sensei he's outside."
I pointed toward the window and giving me a confused look Naruto looked outside and saw him. Naruto gives Sensei a copy of Make Out Paradise and Sensei starts to laugh in a weird way as he opens it.
Lady Tsunade clears her throat getting our attention and we turn to face her. "Naruto and Sakura I want you to go up against Kakashi. How well you do against will determine your future status."
"What about Kentai?" Naruto asked.
"Please, keep me out of it. I've already got enough on my plate." I said crossing my arms and leaned back against the wall. Tsunade nodded her head in agreement.
"You know what Naruto you just got back why don't you rest and I'll meet you later at the training grounds." Sensei said and disappeared.
"He just couldn't wait to read that book." I said and waved bye as I also took my leave.
"Kentai hold up a second!" Naruto called after me just as I left the building. "Whats up Naruto?"
"I got you something while I was gone." He said.
"Really? You know I was with you for about a year."
"Yeah yeah just close your eyes." He said. "Fine." I closed my eyes and felt him move my hair slightly and place something around my neck.
"Open them." He said and I looked down to see a fox necklace.
"Its the one from that shop we passed from the town we were in. You went back and got it?" I asked surprised.
"Well yeah, I saw you staring at and it reminded me of when we both found out about me and the Nine-Tails together." He said with a slight blush.
"Thank you Naruto I love it." I said wrapping him in a hug. "Wow, you have changed back then you would've never hugged me." "Hey!" I crossed my arms. " I have my moments."
"Sure you do. Anyway, how did you end up training with the Anbu?" He asked. I shrugged. "I had talked to Lady Tsunade about before leaving for training and a few weeks after I returned they showed interest in me and it just happened."
"Just like that? You get so lucky sometimes you know that." "I wouldn't say that." I whispered to myself before feeling him grab my arm.
"Now let's go to the training grounds." He said and dragged me along. "Wait, seriously I'm busy," I said but he wasn't listening.
When Kakashi Sensei arrived late as usual I jumped into a tree and sat down watched them began the bell exercise. I couldn't help but smile watching them but I couldn't help but sigh too. Deep down I wish all four of us could be together, but I knew that he had to leave and I had to stay and dig for information on the inside. At least that's what's keeping me going anyway.
Its harder to do when my loyalty was being questioned by Lady Tsunade, the elders, and even Danzo but I can't blame them. I trained with Jiraya and Naruto for a year like planned and they think I returned to the village but I didn't. I came back 6 months later. So I've only been back for a little over a year surprisingly Lady Tsunade didn't ask questions about my late arrival and Hopefully she never does.
1½ Years ago
It was the last week before the year was over and Jiraya Sensei had received a message from Lady Tsunade saying that she was sending an Anbu to escort me back to the village and where to meet them. Today was the day of the meeting and when we arrived the Anbu was already there.
"I always get the special treatment around here." I said sarcastically. "Don't make a fuss and get going." Jiraya Sensei said and greeted the Anbu.
"See you when you get back Naruto." I said and waved goodbye as I left with the Anbu. After traveling for a quite a distance the man suddenly stopped and I looked at him confused.
"Why are we stopping?" Without an answer, the Anbu took off his mask and I widen my eyes in shock. "I should've known he wasn't gonna give up," I said.
"Of course not how could we give up on our best work in progress." Kabuto said with a smirk.
"So he sent the message." I said with a sigh. "Don't seem so disappointed. Don't you want to see Sasuke?" He said mockingly.
"Let's just go." I said ignoring his comment and he took me to the current hideout they were using.
I followed Kabuto down a bunch of hallways and he pointed to the room that Orochimaru was in and walked off. I sighed not seeing Sasuke and I studied Orochimaru trying to notice anything different but he just looked the same and I wondered who was the vessel used in place of Kimimiaro.
"I see you came back without a fight." Orochimaru said and I shrugged. "Don't have anywhere better to be. Where's Sasuke?" I asked not interested in the small talk.
"No thank you for bringing you here when I could've just left you at the Leaf." He said with a smirk. "Why would you? I practically brighten up the room when I walk in." I said sarcastically.
"There's the girl I remember, now let's go." He said and I followed him. We walked past one of the labs and I see Kabuto inside with multiple clones of himself already back to work.
"I see that shadow clone experiment is still a bust. All this time you might as well give up." I said. "You might be right." He said We entered a room "What took you so long." A voice said coldly. "You'll have to forgive me, I was bringing you a gift."
"Sasuke?" I said walking closer to him "Kentai?" He said meeting me halfway. I immediately wrapped my arms around him and surprisingly he hugged me back. "Sorry, it took me so long." I whispered.
"Are you here to stay?" He whispered back. No matter how long we're apart it's like we've never been separated. "You'll have to catch up later. Kentai it's time to pick up where you left off." Orochimaru said before I could answer.
"You mean to be your lab rat." I waved bye to Sasuke and follow Orochimaru. "You won't but I do have one you might be interested in and Kabuto believes it will be compatible with your body. But that's later for right now you'll be recording results on my other experiments with Kabuto." He said.
"I'll think about it but no promises. I'll see you later." I said and went to the lab I saw Kabuto in. "You're trying to do the impossible." I said as I picked up the tube that had the clone solution in it. "Well if anyone can make the impossible happen it's Orochimaru." He said while charting his results.
I look at the trend of failures due to it having no effect or working but only lasting for a few hours before the cells mutate and kill the clone. Kabuto puts the results away and hands me a folder.
"Welcome back, now get to work." Kabuto said. I flip through the file and widen my eyes in shock. "Jugo! He wants me to supervise that psycho? He'll kill me on sight." "Well don't get too close." Kabuto said with a smirk and left the lab.
I flip through more pages and see I'm also over someone named Suigetsu. I sigh because the hideouts they're at are far apart and I'll have to travel the entire time I'm here. I glance over at the clone file and being curious me I took it with me. I leave the lab as well to look for Orochimaru.
I knock on his door and when I don't hear an answer I open it and walk inside. I sigh seeing him not here and before I walk out the room I see a familiar ring on a table. I pick it up and look at it closely and remember seeing Itachi wearing a similar ring. I start to wonder when Orochimaru was a part of the Akatsuki. I put the ring down and leave his room to go dig around to see if he keeps any information on the Akatsuki around.
I spent six months training and working under Orochimaru and I barely saw Sasuke the entire time. I couldn't find enough information on Itachi or what the purpose of the Akatsuki was and knew I had to back to the village to get what they have on the group.
I left telling Orochimaru I was going to the Northern hideout and I returned to the Leaf.
Present Time
Obviously by now they know I'm gone but they wouldn't come here to get me at least I hope. The only thing I regret about leaving was not telling Sasuke that I was and just disappearing.
I couldn't help but release a sad sigh thinking about it. "Kentai, you coming?" Naruto asked and I looked around realizing it was already nighttime. "Yeah." I jumped down and walk back into town with them.
Sometimes I scare myself with how easily I lie to everyone around here and mostly I'm scared of what will happen if everything blows up in my face.
Akira POV:
I walk in between Deidara and Sasori as we head toward the sand village and come upon the entrance.
"So are we just gonna walk right through the front door? I thought your spy was compromised." I asked curiously.
"Don't doubt my skills girl." Sasori said coldly. "Whatever you say puppet." I said emphasizing the last word. "Now, now Akira. Don't doubt my man Sasori here it wouldn't be such a great jutsu if people were to become free so easy." Deidara explained and I rolled my eyes.
However as we stopped in front of the entrance and came upon our spy and the dead bodies lying behind him I smiled impressed. "Some people still stay loyal even after regaining their memory." Sasori said as the spy bowed down to him.
"Aww, is he bowing to me." I said jokingly. "Yeah right." Sasori said annoyed and I smirk in response.
"Humor me just once Sasori." I said and walked past the spy.
"Now let's get to work."
