Work Text:

He said he’d be gone tomorrow. Yuki scrambled up ideas on what Muku meant, lying in his bed. It was midnight, it was too late for him to be up for this reason but it’s not like he could of fallen asleep. He would of never admitted his concern for his boyfriend, but when he was told this he couldn’t help but be worried to the core. That is exactly what kept him up at this time of night. That and his roommate Tenma snoring loudly like he usually did. Whilst in deep thought, Yuki remembered their first date. It was a picnic at the valley, around sunset. One of the best memories he could of recalled.

They arrived at 6pm, intertwined hands as the two boys made it to the valley. The river along was calm and settle, but neither of the boys were as Muku was excited and Yuki was too but also nervous. “We’re here!” Muku explained, his smile pure and sweet as he walked over to somewhat near the edge, sitting down at a perfect view. Yuki naturally was dragged along, but he didn’t seem to mind as a slick smile made it onto his face. After all of their struggles they both were finally here together, and it could of never felt so nice. “Nice choice of place, Wonder boy” Yuki would calmly speak as to hide his nerves, placing down gently the picnic basket he brought along. Muku smiled in reply to his lover’s compliment, moving some of his hair from his face as the breeze picked up. It was getting late, after all. Yuki opened up the picnic basket, seeing everything that he had packed in there in good contact still, filling him up with secret relief as he picked up one of the water bottles lying in the basket. Muku shyly did the same, not wanting to look dumb as he opened it up, looking at the view before looking at Yuki. “Isn’t the view great?” he asked calmly, before taking a sip of water as the wind blew through his hair. “Mhm” Yuki nodded in agreement, also opening his own water bottle. He never wanted this moment to end, even if it had just started. The sun was starting to set, and it was a beautiful sight. Pinks and oranges were slowly taking over the blue sky. “Though it’s not great as you” Yuki added. He never was cheesy usually, but as they were alone and it was unexpected so he went for it, curious of the pink haired boy’s reaction. Muku’s cheeks went from the soft pastel pink of his hair to a color similar to the red of Taichi’s, him looking down at the bottle of water that was cooling down his hand. “..Yuki..” he mumbled softly, the tone sounding shy and flustered. In reply to this Yuki chuckled, drinking more water. “Yes?” he then added, looking at Muku once more. “I’m always surprised you actually like me back..like what if I end up leaving sometime..then what?” Muku spoke softly, finishing up his water bottle. Yuki raised an eyebrow, quite shocked by what he had heard. “Well..you’re an amazing person, Wonder boy. I wouldn’t be who I am without you, that’s why I care about you so much. And if you left..I wouldn’t know what to do. Just..promise me you won’t..please princey?” Muku seemed to had processed this, a concentrated expression on his face for a moment before he nodded. “I promise, Yuki.” He smiled before hugging the green haired boy gently, the one he cared and loved for so deeply..he was scared to leave him. Yuki had returned the hug, more calm and oblivious to Muku’s soft words.

It was morning, already? Yuki rubbed his eyes gently, looking over beside him to see William..it was Muku’s beloved teddy bear. “Hey..where’s your owner?” he spoke to the bear, but with obvious no reply he got out of bed, seeing Tenma had already left the room. Out of causality he got ready for his day, picking out a dress and fixing up his messy hair. Then Yuki left the room, noticing a bunch of people at the lounge. Confused, he walked there to join the crowd of people. A worried Kazunari spoke about not knowing where “Mukkun” went, which had left the room distraught and worried, Yuki now included. But he had a feeling in his chest, a sharp one so he left, going exactly where he knew he should.

The same valley Muku and him had his first date..it was still as beautiful as always, but there was some random weird feeling added to it. One he didn’t quite enjoy. Yuki followed the trail up to the mountain top where they had their picnic, and there he found a picnic basket. No person, just a picnic basket sitting there alone. Usually the green haired boy wouldn’t snoop around but this time he went closer to it, leaning down to pick it up. He then opened it, and there was a paper that simply wrote out

“ I love you Yuki <3 love, your wonder boy”

What did this mean? Yuki wasn’t quite sure, in fact he took the paper out and just put the basket back down. Thoughts rushed to his head, so he picked out his phone and texted Muku’s phone. He usually replied right away..but this time he didn’t at all. To give the benefit of the doubt the waited thirty minutes..yet no reply or even a read. So then he sighed, looking out at the sun that was risen so high, unlike during their night out. And he waited there, he waited until sunset for something..anything from his boyfriend. But no signs from him, not even to anyone else from the group chat he was in with the rest of Mankai Company. No one could find a sign of him, even his parents according to Juza. Was this..the last of Muku he had? Yuki looked at the letter in his hands, he could feel tears fill up..though he hated them they couldn’t be controlled. Why? He missed the sweet memories, where Muku and him were having a joyful picnic at the same exact location. Yuki could still feel his touch, from that hug, from after the pink haired boy had said he would never leave..so why did he leave, then? Yuki questioned. “Why did you leave me alone here, princey?” he asked inbetween cries, but of course there was no reply. For “Princey” had left.
