Chapter Text

It was a dreary day, the day that Technoblade starts his first and final year at SMP college. The sky was grey and lightly drizzling down as he ate his breakfast and pondered how this year would go. Sitting at the head of the table was his father Philza, and across from him was his twin brother Wilbur, who was casually reading a book and eating fruit. The youngest of the bunch, Tommy, hadn't woken up yet and the three of them were enjoying a small respite in the early morning. Philza took a sip of his tea and put down the newspaper to glance over at his oldest son.

"Today you three go off to school. Are you feeling alright?" He asked gently. Technoblade looked up from his breakfast of oatmeal and blueberries to see the face of his father.
"Of course, It's just one year without you. We'll be fine until Christmas Phil." He replied stoically, before taking another bite of his meal. Wilbur snorted without even looking up from his book.
"Of course you'd say that, you already know the headmaster." He bit into an orange slice before continuing his tirade. "I'm Technoblade I love school and being a boring sod." He mocked his brother with a grimace on his face.
"That is enough Wil." Philza interjected with a glare. "Both of you are too old to be playing this sibling rivalry game any longer. Finish your food and go wake your brother."

Wilbur slammed his book on the table and stormed off up the stairs. Technoblade looked down at his food. Philza picked the newspaper back up and pretended to read it while addressing his oldest son.
"I'm sure you'll make me proud this year Techno. Try to keep your brothers in line alright? And don't look to harshly on Wil, he needs you more than he'll admit." He had just said that when a loud bang, and subsequently, a scream of "Get out of my room!" came from upstairs. Philza sighed and started reading again before hearing his youngest son stomp down the stairs and sit at the table.

"Phiiiiil," Tommy whined, "Wilbur went in my room and messed with all my stuff again!" He complained. Noticing that Wilbur left his book on the table, and seeing that as a good outlet of revenge, Tommy picked up the book and ran off to go hide it somewhere right as Wilbur walked down the stairs. He saw his little brother with his book and a fight ensued. Technoblade minded his business. Phil stood up and walked over to the boys and grabbed each of them by the back of their shirts.
"You two are old enough to know better than to fight like toddlers. This is an important day and I don't want to have any phone calls about reckless behavior is that understood? Now Tommy go eat breakfast and Wilbur make sure you're all packed for school." With that mini rant over, he let them go and took the book from Tommys hands. "And this is staying with me. You can have it back when you're done packing Wil." He sat back down at the table and went back to enjoying his tea while the boys did just that.

Technoblade finished his oatmeal and took his dishes to the sink. Not wanting to deal with either of his less mature brothers, he went to his room to make sure he was packed up properly as well. As he entered his room lightning flashed outside his window, startling him a bit. He didn't realize how hard the rain was falling outside. His room was his favorite place in the house, its pink walls and dark red curtains and furnishings were a comforting constant when he was feeling overwhelmed. He stared out his window at the downpour with a blank face, hoping beyond hopes that this year would be better than the last. The year they lost their mother, and Phil his dear wife. He broke off these bleak thoughts and turned back to his trunk and began checking over to make sure he packed everything he would need for the year.

After a few minutes of packing and repacking he was finally sure he had everything he could possibly need this year in his trunk. His father knocked on the doorframe to let Techno know he was there and peeked in the open door.

"It's almost time to go Techno, you want me to bring your trunk to the car?" He asked. Techno nodded and handed it off to Phil who dragged it down the stairs and into the entryway of the house. Techno grabbed the familys big umbrella and opened the door, opening the umbrella outside so that he and Phil didn't get to wet while Phil loaded the last trunk into the boot of the car. Techno gave his father the umbrella and got in the front seat. Phil shortly got in the drivers side and they drove to SMP college in semi silence. Tommy and Wilbur bickered in the back seat. Technoblade just stared out the window and drowned them out. As they drove into the gates of SMP college Techno saw hedges and topiaries and potted flowers of many kinds through the heavy rain that marked the start of a brand new adventure for the three boys.
