When the straw hats first dropped anchor on the city of love, food, toys and passion. Both Sanji and Luffy were extremely excited but for completely different reasons.
Everything was magical, the city alive and jolly. Toys running around humans, singing and dancing
"I heard the women here stab men if they cheat on them, "
Franky says nonchalantly.
"The cook might be the perfect victim for it too, "
Zoro makes a snide remark at the cook who has a dorky smile on his face as the women on the streets pass by.
" I will not waste my time today arguing with you Marimo especially with the beauties all around, ah the city of love makes me fall-"
Sanji notices Luffy who is walking in the opposite direction.
Luffy follows a life sized dog slinky that was following around a little girl, Sanji grabs him by his shirt and pulls him along so he doesn't stray too far from the group.
Luffy doesn't mind it much but he does still end up wandering.
"If you keeps getting distracted like that we won't even reach the restaurant, you want food don't you? "
Sanji knows how to play his cards right with Luffy, whose eyes sparkle at the mention of food, smile bright as he walks to the front of the group, following the scent of food and walks into a restaurant.
They all follow him along, sit at a table as luffy claps, a lot of toys in the restaurant too. Making different melodies.
There's a beautiful dancer and different instruments are being played beside her as she twirls with a rose in her mouth.
Sanji sighs dreamily at the sight as he watches her graceful moves.
" Sanji, sanji what should we get, I want everything! "
" We don't have time for you to get everything and I wouldn't want the kitchen to go through that, "
Sanji still orders huge portions, knowing Luffy would still complain about the food not being enough. After he's done he goes back to watching the dance.
" A kiss, it would be a dream, "
The girl twirls and flirts. Winking at the audience and sanji dreamily sighs as he takes a sip from his wine, swirling the liquid in the glass, admiring it.
Luffy slurps his pasta, barely chewing it as he gulps it down as if it'll run away, also drinking the alcohol like it's water to wash it down as Sanji stares wondering how someone can gulp down wine like that.
" A kiss? I've never had a kiss, hey Sanji can you teach me how? "
" Find someone you love, get close to them, hold their waist with an arm and tilt their chin, lean in and connect your lips, "
Sanji seems as if he's imagining himself, as he closes his eyes and hums.
He feels an arm snake around his waist which makes him open his eyes, Luffy sits on his lap, holds his chin and leans in, connecting their lips.
He tastes like spice and a little bit sweet, he smells like salt water from the sea. Warm, so warm.
Sanji has never known that Luffy can be this gentle though he must admit he never thought of kissing him or Luffy kissing anyone really.
"Like this? "
Luffy says after disconnecting, he seems a little dazed, cheeks dusted in pink. Still on Sanji's lap.
Sanji suddenly feels aware of his surroundings, Franky and Zoro absent and Sanji wonders why.
The captain smiles, leans in again for a second but Sanji puts a finger on his lips.
" Sanji! Again! "
" You are, very impulsive, "
"But you said, "
" I know what I said, it wasn't for you to kiss me, "
" But I love you, "
Sanji laughs, it's so ridiculous.
"You love your entire crew, "
" Of course! "
" You shouldn't go kissing them all, "
"I kissed you because I wanted to! "
"I-"
Sanji doesn't have a reply, so he decides to indulge Luffy more, kisses him again their lips moving in tandem.
He feels heady as if there's no one around. The loud music still rings in his ears.
The next time they disconnect their eyes are glazed over, Sanji shakes his head a little; he needs to go and find the others.
He shifts and let's Luffy climb off of him, who even though make of rubber feels even more clumsy than usual.
Questions start swimming in his head as they walk out of the restaurant.
"Where's Zoro and Franky?"
Luffy asks.
" I wonder too,"
Sanji says, as he walks out of the restaurant holding onto Luffy.
They look around but can't seem to find them.
Finally they opt to walk around the city without them.
" We'll find them, when we do don't worry!"
Luffy reassured Sanji.
" You think they saw us,"
Sanji asks, lighting a cigarette.
" Dunno, does it matter?"
" You don't care?"
"No!"
" Of course you don't,"
" Does it bother you Sanji? I'm so-"
" There's no need to apologize. I'm just a little, out of my depth,"
" Stop being all gloomy,"
Luffy says poking at his cheek.
" Okay Captain,"
Sanji says smiling at Luffy who returns the favour with a big grin of his.
