Chapter Text
"Welcome back" the stranger greets, his eyes shimmer with delight
George doesn't speak. He's afraid of the unknown, and so he remains quiet
"What's your name?" the stranger asks "Can you talk?" he adds
George shakes his head "Oh, I see" the stranger reaches his hand out "I'm-"
He opens his eyes, only to find himself in a field of dandelions reaching his hand out to the sky. He gets up "That was weird" he says patting away the remains of dirt from his back, he was far away from home and doesn't remember how he got here to wherever he was. George takes out the compass from his satchel and heads toward the direction where it points, back home
He passes along the valley and spots dark oak tress in the distance, familiarity seeps through him as he finds the path he and his friends trekked on before. They were adventurers who were always seeking lost temples, ruined monuments, shipwrecks out on the sea or whichever biome they set foot in
But now they've all gone separate ways, living far far away in the distant lands and waters. George reminisces about their journeys and the greatest one they had that turned out to be their last, going to The End
It was the biggest fight they ever took on. Everyone had their gears enchanted, essentials stacked, and spirits strong as they faced the ever raging dragon that guards the white-stoned dimension filled with tall monsters you should never make eye contact with
"George!" Sap shouts, warning him of the approaching dragon "Jump!" He doesn't hesitate and lets go of the pillar he desperately held onto, he splashes into the water below and was dragged out swiftly by his friend to take cover from the poisonous breath shot towards their direction
"We gotta help Bad!" George turns to see the dragon about to perch near the center with one of his friends preparing to swing the final blow to finally end the battle, he takes notice of the limping person behind him Ant! he recognizes.
But they were soon buried and covered by the large structure of the dragon's wings, George stood and sprinted towards them followed by Sap just behind him "We're not fast enough!" heaves Sap as they run "They'll be launched into the air!" he adds
George knows, he fears. He's afraid of what might happen, scared of losing those he cared about in an adventure that may become their end
"George!" he finds someone there running beside him "Take it, get Ant out of there! I'll help Bad!" A water bucket was shoved into his hands. The dragon drew closer as winds grew stronger, he spots Sap in the distance holding a water bucket of his own
Before he knew it flashes of whites and purples blur his vision, next he was running, he's got Ant with him and then Sap was shouting. The ringing in his ears left him deafened to his surroundings, he catches sight of axes swinging and bottles breaking
Then soon everything was a bliss. He sees as Sap celebrates punching his fists into the air and Ant smiling, he spots Bad panting yet was still able to raise his axe and beside him-
Beside him...was...
"I don't...remember" he mumbles as he finds himself in front of his door, home. He places a hand on his forehead and tries to look back over and over but nothing
Why can't I remember?
