Chapter Text
To Han Sooyoung, Kim Dokja was many things. An idiot. A rat bastard. An ugly squid. She had watched her best friend and that sunfish dance around each other for too long. It was only until the others and herself took charge that the sunfish and squid finally acknowledged their feelings for each other and became a couple. It was equal parts hilarious and awkward seeing how the emotionally constipated sunfish struggled to convey his emotions -or therefore lack of emotions- to his boyfriend. She thought she had seen it all.
So imagine her surprise when one day she waited for the rat to meet her in their usual hangout spot to discuss her next novel. The raven haired female waited for Dokja at a table, lemon candy in her mouth. The door bell of the petite cafe chimed.
"It's about time you showed up-" Sooyoung said before freezing mid-sentence. In front of her stood not only Kim Dokja but also Yoo Jonghyuk. Normally the sight of the two together would be nothing atypical. However, the fact that they were wearing matching sweaters... Fluffy pink sweaters that formed a whole heart when the couple stood next to each other to be exact. Now this was the perfect blackmail material. The author silently stared at both men. She looked at the smug Dokja before looking at the annoyed Jonghyuk. A mad cackle escaped the author's lips.
"T-This is brilliant! Aww, was the poor sunfish forced to wear something against his will to please his dear wife? What would your fans say if they found out their precious Jonghyuk is actually a softie?" The flash going off Han Sooyoung's phone was enough to earn a growl from Jonghyuk. Kim Dokja only smiled and pulled his boyfriend close for the picture.
"Oh come on Jonghyuk. You promised Mia that we would wear the sweaters she made us. We can't refuse a gift from your dear sister," Dokja said sweetly. That smug bastard Jonghyuk thought to himself. How dare he enjoy his humiliation and at the hands of that woman no less. He should've known that the author was trouble the moment Dokja introduced her. Both of them plotting together gave him grey hairs and endless migraines.
"I'll kill you," Jonghyuk threatened. Whether the threat was directed towards Dokja or Sooyoung or perhaps both of them, no one knew. The only thing Jonghyuk could be grateful for was the fact that there were not many people in the cafe.
"Yes yes, you can do that later. Not now though. I want to see what Sooyoung has for me to review," Dokja said with a smile plastered on his features. The reader was already too used to his boyfriend's empty threats. After all, they dated for 2 years and he was still alive even after all the pranks he pulled on his grumpy pro-gamer lover. That had to be an achievement in itself.
His delicate pale hand grabs Jonghyuk's own tan hand and guides them to the table. As usual, Dokja and Sooyoung discuss the author's latest novel. Although Jonghyuk would never admit it, he enjoyed seeing Dokja engage in his interests. He would talk non-stop about his favorite webnovels. Dokja would paint worlds of unknown, fantasy worlds with characters of all shapes and forms. Being the less talkative of the two, Jonghyuk would listen to his boyfriend's soothing voice. Just for today he would endure wearing this disgustingly pink sweater. For Dokja and Mia, the only two people who mattered to him.
