Work Text:
Weighing down my chest
You’re all that was light in me
How do I breathe now
Coming like tides
In waves. In ripples. In tugs
Pulling me under
Keeping your trinkets
Knowing what you kept of mine
What you keep of me
Seeing where you are
Steal glances nonetheless
where you used to be
Telling your story
They won’t understand, and yet
somehow it’s enough
Reminding myself
To smile. To laugh. To breathe deep.
You would want me to
Catching light through mist
Some have stars in their eyes. You
were always the moon
