Work Text:
"Are you sure you're okay with this?" Officer Dooley asks, standing in front of their destination with fear and apprehension.
"Dooley..." McQueen says, putting a gentle hand on Dooley's shoulder. "You have been with me through haunted libraries and zombie filled graveyards, I owe it to you to follow you wherever you need me."
"But this place is actually dangerous, McQueen!"
McQueen's eyebrows furrow. "All of the places we go to are dangerous, Dooley."
"But not quite this dangerous..."
McQueen sighs and smiles, "Dooley, I will walk into hell for you if I have to. I'm with you, you know that."
Dooley is quiet for a moment and then he sighs. "Thank you, Francis. You don't know how much this means to me."
"It means a lot to me, too, you know?" McQueen replies, slinging his arm over Dooley's shoulder as he walks them through the doors. "It really makes me feel like I'm part of your family to be invited to Buzz's birthday party."
They walk into Big Jim's Arcade And Bounce House Pizza Parlor Funtime ExtravaganzaTM. There is a sea of children, running, laughing, and making a huge mess. It's loud, obnoxiously so, and the whole place smells like bleach-coated vomit. The employees have bags under their eyes and look like they crave death but cannot say it. The tired parents have all seemed to have given up on wrangling their children, and have crowded into the one parent lounge to watch a SportsTM on the one television.
They make it five steps in before McQueen gets kneecapped by a surprisingly strong toddler haphazardly swinging a golf club.
