No one ever told Jimin that changing apartments was going to be hard and exhausting .
It was Sunday morning and the moving trucks were arriving at the new apartment.
Fucking finally , Jimin thought. He had been waiting for over an hour for them. His best friend blamed him saying that he just got earlier than necessary.
Jimin however, didn’t waste any second and started complaining to the alpha men that were driving the trucks, to which they just excuse themselves saying there was more traffic than they initially thought. After two whole minutes of Jimin scolding them, they finally started to get the furniture in the new apartment.
“Wow, it’s really pretty!” Taehyung said as he explored the new place.
“Definitely smaller though” Jimin half complained about it while carrying a flower pot and placing it on the table in the living room. He stopped and took a look around. Yes, it was smaller than his last apartment but very cozy. The walls were plain white, but Jimin had lots of paintings and framed pictures to decorate the place. Both friends also loved that the new apartment had lots of windows, the light was able to be distributed perfectly throughout the place.
After two hours of arranging the furniture and boxes, the alphas finally left. Taehyung let himself fall on the couch and his omega best friend offered him a glass of water, which he gladly accepted.
Jimin walked to the living room and sat next to Taehyung while handing him the glass of water. Both friends stayed on the couch silently for a couple minutes.
“Thanks for helping me Tae” Jimin looked at his best friend and smiled fondly at him.
“Of course, Min! Anything for my precious and most beautiful friend!”
Jimin giggled at the comment and rolled his eyes dramatically, “Fine! I’ll pay for the food next time we go out”
“And that’s why you are my best friend, see?” Both friends started laughing. They have enjoyed being together since they were kids. Ever since they were young, they have protected each other or as Taehyung liked to say, they were two omegas against the whole world . They complemented each other and that was enough for them to start a very special friendship.
They have lived in the same neighborhood since forever . But as Jimin ended his studies and finally graduated, he decided to move to another neighborhood, meet new people and find new experiences. Taehyung at first wasn’t okay with the idea of being away from his best friend but at the same time, he wanted to support Jimin as he always does.
It took Jimin exactly two weeks and two days to find the perfect place and Taehyung volunteered to help with the move.
“Promise me you’ll visit me on the weekends” Jimin shyly said.
Taehyung smiled at his friend and got closer to hug him, “You know I definitely will Min, don’t worry. I hope you find whatever you’re looking for”.
They ordered food at home and spent the whole afternoon together, laughing, drinking and cuddling. The moon was already shining when Taehyung decided that it was time to get back home and after a lot of goodbyes , Jimin finally was left alone. Even then, he felt really happy and excited for everything that was about to come.
Monday morning and Jimin was already out of bed taking a bath.
The omega loved taking long showers, he liked to smell clean and sweet.
The whole apartment smelled very sweet already from the omega’s happy scent. The smell of sweet fruit punch covered every single corner of Jimin’s apartment. The humming coming from the bathroom was a happy tune filling the place with noise.
After a few more minutes Jimin finally came out of the shower, smelling sweeter than usual, blonde hair already done and with his favorite light blue sweater on. He looked at himself in the mirror and smiled proudly. The omega decided that day to put on his also favorite jeans to complete his look.
After he was satisfied with how he looked, Jimin felt hungry. He craved something sweet as per usual but didn’t have anything to cook at home. So he decided to explore the new neighborhood. He took his phone and keys before heading out, locking his apartment after he closed the door and started walking through the streets.
Jimin loved new experiences. Walking by the new neighborhood he smelled so many scents, different from what he knew. He saw new colors, bigger houses and new faces. After a couple of minutes of walking, the omega finally found what he was looking for. His eyes brightly shine at the bakery he had just found.
At the top of the bakery on a sign with big letters it read Sweeter than Love .
Jimin walked as fast as he could. When he got to the entrance he was already very much excited. The omega loved everything that was sweet, specially cakes, muffins, desserts. It was really a problem because too much sugar was never good, but fortunately Jimin didn’t care.
When Jimin finally opened the crystal door, the smell of fresh coffee, chocolate and vanilla engulfed him. The omega didn’t even notice when he closed his eyes, clearly enjoying every smell. Jimin suddenly felt warm and safe, so many childhood memories came back at him out of nowhere.
Jimin was enjoying himself when a voice interrupted him.
“Um, excuse me? Are you coming in? I'm kind of… trying to exit, '' the random customer said to him and Jimin felt a bit embarrassed. He apologized and moved to the side, entering completely to the bakery.
The omega quietly squealed, excited to see lots of cakes and desserts displayed and also remembering that he was actually very hungry. At the thought of his empty stomach, Jimin walked to the counter to order something.
“Hi! I’m Jimin” the omega excitedly introduced himself because that was just the way he is.
The boy behind the counter looked up at him, big doe eyes staring at Jimin. The boy didn’t say a word and Jimin was a bit confused. It was also a bit awkward.
“Um you must be – um” Jimin was hoping to get the boy's name, but nothing came out from the guy.
The boy stared at the omega very confused. He started to shift uncomfortably.
Why isn’t he ordering something?
“Jeongguk! There you go!” Jimin screamed a bit much excited and the boy behind the counter jumped a bit startled at the other loud scream.
The omega saw the confusion on the other’s face and clarified, “Oh! It’s on your name badge, I just saw it” Jimin brightly smiled, as usual.
Right. Jeongguk almost forgot that he had his name displayed.
They both stood there awkwardly for a whole minute until Jimin remembered he had to order.
“Right! Um, do you have a menu? Or something like that?” the omega politely asked and Jeongguk nodded, handing him a cart with a pretty design that showed every sweet thing they had.
“No way!” The omega screamed again and Jeongguk was startled. Again. “You have chocolate stuffed pancakes! This is officially the best day of my life!”
Jeongguk wasn’t sure of why on earth was that omega being so loud and excited for pancakes. It was strange but kind of… cute.
“I’d like an order of these pancakes and an iced coffee, please” Jimin finally ordered with a big smile and Jeongguk only nodded. Placing the order in the computer.
Jimin looked around the place while the other boy placed his order and saw the tables, “Oh! One more thing!” Jimin said pretty loudly, again. Startling the poor boy, again. “I’d like to eat it here, please” and Jeongguk just nodded, again.
Jeongguk finally gave Jimin an order number and signaled him to go sit while waiting for his order. The omega perfectly understood the sign but didn’t quite get why the boy wasn't speaking.
Jimin chose the table beside the big window and sat down. He looked outside and saw people walking by with his kids, friends and pets. After a minute of entertaining himself with the outside world, he directed his attention to the black-haired boy behind the counter making coffee. It was really intriguing and the omega was trying to elaborate a plan to be able to exchange at least two words with the boy. Jimin came to a conclusion, the boy behind the counter was interesting and kind of… cute.
After a couple minutes, the boy came out of the counter with a plate of pancakes and iced coffee on the other hand. When he got to Jimin’s table and leaned down to place the order on the table, the omega was one again engulfed with the scent of dark chocolate and fresh coffee.
“You’re an alpha!” Jimin, very surprised, affirmed while looking at Jeongguk.
Jeongguk blushed at the sudden affirmation and nodded, he wasn’t able to look at the omega, so without anything else to say he backed away slowly.
Jimin was still surprised and endeared at the other’s reaction. He softly smiled and decided to try the pancakes.
“Oh my god! This is so good!” The omega screamed one more time and this time not only Jeongguk was startled but the few customers that were also at the bakery.
While eating his pancakes, Jimin couldn’t stop thinking about Jeongguk’s scent. It was so strong and warm. The omega couldn’t quite distinguish if the smell at the bakery was because of the desserts and coffee or because of certain alpha.
Jeongguk could see the omega enjoying his pancakes and he softly smiled at the blonde boy. Without the other noticing, of course. Forty minutes later, Jimin finally finished his pancakes and coffee, so he got up and headed to the counter.
“Jeongguk, that was delicious! I’m definitely coming back, thank you!” and with that said, Jimin headed out of the bakery, walking back to his apartment and leaving a smiley Jeongguk behind.
“Why are you suddenly smiling Gguk?” Jeongguk was so lost in his thoughts that didn’t even notice when his hyung arrived.
“N-nothing special” the young alpha said.
“Right. I’m sorry for coming late, but traffic was terrible! You can leave me the orders and go to the kitchen”
Jeongguk nodded and before heading to the kitchen he turned around “Um, hyung” he shyly said.
“Yeah?”
“There was a– um, new customer today” Seokjin looked at Jeongguk and saw him fidgeting with his fingers.
“Mm, and? What else?”
Jeongguk looked up at his hyung and blushed out of nowhere, “And– he was very loud, yes that’s it” the young alpha turned around and headed to the kitchen as fast as possible.
Seokjin laughed a bit and shook his head, “Of course he was” he told himself and turned around to take the customers orders.
