Work Text:
· You had tried very hard to hide your feelings from him.
· Though you knew it was a lost cause.
· William, his brothers, and everyone else knew how you felt.
· They just hid it in consideration of your feelings.
· But you couldn’t help it, you couldn’t help feeling a bit jealous.
· After all, you weren’t Sherlock Holmes.
· You didn’t have his intelligence or his ability to pull anyone into a sense of camaraderie.
· Honestly, you knew it was stupid to be jealous of the man.
· He was perfectly friendly towards you, well, not perfectly, but he tried his best in an awkwardly cute way. You couldn’t help but laugh at his antics at times. He was different from the nobles you had to deal with when attending parties with William.
· That’s why you knew it was stupid of you to be jealous.
· But emotions were never rational sadly, and you couldn’t help what you felt.
· You sighed in frustration; you were one second away from messing up your hair in frustration when-
· “Is something wrong, my dear?”
· Of course. Of course, he would show up now.
· You straightened up and sent him a smile to convey that all was normal.
· If the slight amusement tugging at his lips and his knowing eyes said anything, you know you did a poor job.
· “No, everything is okay.” You cringed a bit from your hasty answer.
· William sat next to you as you poured him some tea from the pot Louis had left behind for you both.
· You couldn’t look him in the eyes at all.
· As you went to pick up the saucer with the teacup, William stopped you by laying his hand over your own.
· He placed a kiss on your hand, and you had no choice but to look at him at this point.
· His gentle red eyes had you turning red.
· “You’re jealous.” It was a fact.
· “I am.” You could not help but bow your head.
· “Beloved, there really is no reason for you to be jealous.” William tilted your head up and drew you near.
· “There really isn’t any reason to be.”
· William then proceeded to show you exactly why you didn’t need to be jealous.
· Thoroughly.
