it is thursday, and mix is sleeping over in bangna again.
"thank you, sir". mix responded before he clicked on the 'leave' option button of the class meeting call. he had 1 core subject examination paper for the day. for some reason, online classes are more tiring than the usual normal classes. mix stretches his aching body, releasing the tightness in his back. he had been sitting for at least 2 hours for the exam. he stood up and twisted his tired waist.
the week had been jammed with his work schedules alongside with a few final's papers. things are tough, but he is committed to manage both of his study and work at the same time. he knows it is his duty to do well now, to ensure he lives a stable life in the future.
he had been taking more jobs lately since he needed the money to renovate his new house and he wants to provide the best life for his babies.
mix rubbed his fingers on his neck as he feels his throat is getting thirsty. the water from his tumbler bottle is long finished. so he decides to go downstairs to get some refreshments.
earth was sitting on the dinner table. he looked up from his laptop when he notices mix coming down from upstairs.
"good job nhoo~" earth grins with his straight teeth showing. "how was it?"
mix acknowledges earth's words by raising his brow and pouting his lips. he dragged his feet tiredly to the refrigerator.
"i think i did well", he says while rummaging through the refrigerator for a bottle of water. mix opens the water bottle and gulps down the drink. he wipes his lips and belatedly says " i did studied like crazy last night".
"mhm you've studied hard, i'm sure you will get great marks", he smiles before focusing back on his laptop.
mix notices that earth had been occupied with something as he hears the continuous scrolling and clicking sound of the mouse. so mix went and sat next to him on the chair. he rested his head over earth's shoulder to see what the older man was up to. he sees that earth was googling ideas for the cat house. earth had been planning to do so for a while now.
initially, earth had wanted to turn the guest room into their cats playroom. but seeing how often mix have sleepovers and how mix is using the room as his personal study room had made earth's hold off his plans. now, he had decided to sacrifice his lovely back garden instead and turn it into the cat's play zone. the space for his backyard would be plenty for the kids to run around whilst still enjoying being outside without having to worry about their safety.
mix had sat there for 5 minutes, just looking at earth scrolling through the internet. mix enjoys being with the presence of earth alone, doing nothing and just staying by his side like this, recharging his energy by staying close together. however, mix is more tired than he usually is. studying for his final exams had taken a toll from him and he craved for the elder's attention fully on him.
"phi earth". he called.
no answers.
"phiii earthh~~". earth hums.
but earth says nothing else.
mix considers himself to be a patient man. however, as of the moment, he desires earth's undivided attention.
"earth", he starts. "can't you pay attention to me for a while?", he whines as he pats on earth's thighs.
that's when earth saw an interesting page of a cat's house inspiration, which had caught his attention. he quickly clicks on the article. mix knows earth is the type to, when he is focusing on something, he would be fixated on the matter. mix knows talking to earth at this point would be useless.
feeling annoyed, mix huffed. he rolls his eyes and stood up, knowing he no longer had the elder's attention. rather than starting a fight with the older man, he decided to cool down and watch some kpop music videos instead.
he picked up edin, who was rubbing his small adorable face all over mix's legs. mix irritation from before immediately dissipates. he smiles and cooed at the feline. he picks up edin and brings him along to sit on the sofa. he finds a comfortable position to sit in and rest edin on top of his chest. he can feel that edin is definitely growing by the weight of the cat that felt heavier than it was before.
mix turns on the tv and opens up youtube. he played nct's lemonade music video as he pets edin. he can feel edin vibrating on his chest as it purrs. he hums to parts of the song, only repeating 'lemonade' as that is the only word he knew. he bops his head to the song, not really thinking about anything else.
its been 15 minutes since mix had spoken to earth. earth finally finishes reading a bunch of articles. only then he realizes that mix is already sitting on the sofa.
earth chuckles, feeling endeared by the scene before him. mix is mumbling to the song that is playing on the tv while petting on edin's head. he pulls out his phone from his short's pocket and opens up the instagram app to record the cute moment with his favorite 'film vlog' insta filter. once he was happy with what he took, he saved the video into his gallery. he locks his phone and put it back on the table. he turns his body towards mix's direction.
"mix" he calls. only to receive a short glare from the younger man.
"aow. are you mad?" he asked, surprised by mix's reaction.
"... no".
"you totally are mad right now", earth snickers.
"i am not mad…", mix answers again. he pauses. "just annoyed".
earth chuckles and shakes his head. he is used to this nature of mix's behaviour. when he sulks, earth knows how to make up to him. so he walked over to the sofa and slides his arm around mix's shoulder.
"i'm sorry okay~" he says in his baby-toned voice. he softly bumps his head with mix's. mix only frowned.
"forgivee me okayy, mixx~".
mix makes an agreeing sound and nods his head. "yeah yeah, i told you, i'm not mad".
he really isn't. not when earth is finally close next to him. he melts into the warmth coming from earth's body heat.
"it feels like you are" earth chuckles, as he plays his fingers over edin's ear.
"if you give me a hug, maybe i'll forgive you" mix says nonchalantly as he keeps his eyes fixed to the mc donald's burger ads on the screen.
"that seems kinda cheap".
mix turns his head towards earth.
"you're saying getting a hug from 'the earth' is cheap? do you know how long the line would be, wanting to be in this position??" he jokes. he received a boisterous laugh from earth. mix also couldn't help but form a wide smile by the other reactions.
"okay okay, you win". earth pulls mix into a super tight hug and shakes him vigorously, which made edin jumps away from them.
"owww! not too hard earth! it hurts!!", mix groans as pushes earth with his elbow and gives another glare.
"just kidding~~" he chuckles as he messes up with mix's hair. in his opinion, he thinks this type of reaction from mix is extremely cute. so, he often teases mix this way. he wraps his arms around mix waist and lays his head on the younger shoulder. his eyes staring at the screen as mix types their recent magazine interview on the youtube search bar.
"happy?" earth asks as he looks up to see the younger's reaction and grins at what he sees.
"yeah" mix answers shortly, with a smile on his face, feeling content by earth's presence, hugging him, on his exhausting day.
