Work Text:
It seems that Leon chose Tatsumi’s bed for the day.
Granted, considering that Leon ever sleeps without the warmth of another person nearby. With the self-proclaimed wolf gone to attend his lessons during the day, he can only have his roommate as an alternative to Koga’s presence while he naps.
Gently, Koga closes the door, careful not to wake the pup.
And Tatsumi, upon closer inspection. That explains the lack of the sweet, floral aroma coming from the tea he sometimes brews inside the room, sometimes smells of by default.
But the tea is nothing he can’t stand, not really. Rather, he finds its scent oddly comforting in a way that reminds him of Tatsumi Kazehaya himself.
The man’s presence is… comforting, in a way, a break from the eccentricities Koga deals with in his everyday life. Somewhere along the way of adjusting to a life lived with someone else close by, he finds himself seeking more of it—a way to escape from all the oddities, a home that provides him the tranquility he didn’t think he needed.
Perhaps that’s why Leon got attached to the priest as well. Tatsumi never pushes his buttons, never disrespects the boundaries Koga set for himself. He lets Koga come to him. He waits for the permission to intrude, to insert himself in his life, rather than offering guidance out of the blue.
It’s… new, unusual for his surroundings to purposely adjust to him. It feels… nice.
And in the room’s silence its three inhabitants provide it—Koga starts heating up the water.
Koga has lived with Tatsumi long enough to know his tea preferences: a warm cup of Jasmine mixed with honey. He may not have been welcomed home with its aroma today, but he hopes that the other would wake up with the sweet floral scent surrounding them.
