heartbroken but found

Summary:

Tweek has developed feelings towards the God of Pain and spouse, Kevin, but he knows it's in vain. Kevin will never see him as a proper lover like he does with his past lover Clyde.

In this unfair marriage, he feels miserable but there will be always by his side the God of Hell, Craig.

Notes:

I know my summary is trashy but well. After reading the webcomic in Tapas called "The God of Pain's Groom" : https://tapas.io/series/tgopg/info (here is the link, please read it and if you can support it! Tapas is a really good app to support artists and authors<3) and this was the result of the aftermath(?).

Hahaha, I really loved the story of that webcomic so I really recommend it and I couldn't stop thinking, well.. what if Craig and Tweek where in this story? So, in a spare of time that I had with this inspiration, I created this one-shot.

I was thinking about creating a short series of this story if you liked how I wrote it, but again, that depends on what you think!

Hope you like it!

And for those who are waiting for CWC's update, I am working on that!

Work Text:

The night was cold in that temple of his husband. He knew Kevin could manipulate the weather but he was always so gloomy and, therefore, the weather matched his mood. Sighing, the blonde decided to stop staring at the sky from the living room and, finally, decided to go for a walk. Maybe, he would stop to feel suffocated by the continuous sadness that filled the place. He walked until he reached the entrance, but before he could go outside, a hand wrapped around his wrist stopped him from that.

“Where are you going?” A deep voice in the dark said in a tone that was far from friendly. Tweek lowered his gaze and said nothing until he felt the tightness of that hand ceased. “Please… tell me.”

“I am just going for a stroll around here…” He could not look at the guy behind him since it felt horribly heavy in his chest every time he did. “I will be back soon.”

He freed his hand; however, the next second he back hugged the blonde.

“You promise?” He whispered and tightened the hugged which made Tweek’s heart even heavier and his eyes glittered. “I need you.”

“Stop, Kevin… please…” His voice broke and he finally was freed.

Quickly, the thin figure of the blonde rushed through the door and walked as fast as he could towards the forest that was beyond the temple. His feet covered only by his slippers were now stained with wet soil. Seconds later, he realized it had been drizzling and so the ground was humid. It smelled good. It felt one hundred times better than the suffocating house in which he previously was. He took a deep breath and the tears started to fall.

The idea of Kevin never being able to love him back never crossed his mind. Even if he knew that he was stuck with his older love, Clyde, he thought he could make himself as important as the other was for the God of Pain who he called Kevin. However, he should have known from the very beginning that this idea was stupid the moment he saw Kevin’s cold eyes.

The drizzle became rain. And this rain soaked the beautiful clothes Tweek was wearing. It wasn’t much. Just a pair of light green slacks, a white shirt and a white pompous jacket with light green details, a gift from his God. It was nice to wear it but now it was totally ruined by his dumb decisions. But what else could he do? He did not want to share the same space with that made God. Neither did he want to see his face. He kept crying, and his tears were washed by the same rain that Kevin created due to his mood.

“Tweek.”

His eyes were closed but he would never mistake the motone tone of that guy’s voice. The only one who had always been there for him and never said he was a burden. The one God who saw him as his equal although he was a human.

“Craig…”

His voice was broken and rough. He did not feel the rain anymore and when he opened his eyes, saw that Craig was covering him with an umbrella he probably created.

“What are you doing here? You are soaking wet.” The black haired guy knelt beside him and with a flick of his fingers, he dried Tweek in a second. “Now, you are better. What happened? Did he do something to you again? I swear I am gonna kill him… and I do not care if he's your spouse. He is just-”

“It’s okay.”

“What do you mean? Then, why are you…?”

Tweek shook his head with a gentle smile and stood up with Craig. He wobbled and the taller one helped him before he could fall. In that instant, Craig decided to put his arms around his waist and pull him closer. He was hugging him, and again, Tweek’s heart squeezed and his tears started to fall again. However, this time Tweek felt a little of relief and comfort. He tucked Craig hoodie while burying his face in his shoulder, crying.

The sound of the rain crashing into the umbrella above them was unbelievably pleasing. Craig stretched the hug and Tweek felt finally safe in someone’s arms. Was it okay to feel like in Craig’s arms? He wondered. Craig was the God of Hell and the enemy of his husband, Kevin, God of Pain. They both have always detested each other. Kevin knew about Tweek’s friendship with Craig and let him be. For once, he thought this was a special treatment since Kevin once told him he liked him. He thought this might be evidence of trust and sheer love. However, after the past week's events, Tweek only could think that Kevin must just want an excuse to get rid of him. But… why did he keep him in that temple? Was it only to take his vitality?

Finally, he stopped crying and Craig loosened his arms a bit, still holding him. He looked at Tweek’s eyes when he showed his face. Tweek’s eyes were puffy but the expression on his face looked better than before. He smiled and decided to use his hands to gently caress the blonde’s hair and face.

“You okay now? Better?”

“Hmn.” Tweek nodded and smiled back. Staring at the sweet smile of the taller. He never smiled when they were with other creatures but somehow he did when they were together alone.

“Wanna walk or do something else?”

Tweek thought for a while but he could only think that he wanted to sleep. He felt tired and his arms searched for Craig’s neck, wrapping them around it.

“I am tired…”

“Then, maybe you should go to that jerk’s temple. You might rest there, unless…”

“Unless?”

“Nothing. It’s an stupid idea.”

“No, tell me. I don’t want to go back, actually. Ngh.”

Tweek could swear at that moment that he saw the God of Hell’s eyes shine of hope.

“Ehem. I… I was thinking that you may sleep at my place. I mean, you could tell me anywhere else you want to go and I will accompany you there, but since you already know my place and I would like to… stay… with you…”

That took him by surprise and could not stop himself from giggling. Craig could be so cute when he wanted.

“I want to go to your place.”

He finally said, admiring the smile that Craig shared in pure display of happiness. He was handsome but he was even more attractive and sweet when he smiled.

“Let’s go, then.”

As they were already used to, Tweek was taken in a bridal style by Craig and jumped into a symbol created by the dark haired in the sky. In a split second, they were teletransported to the underworld. The place looked just like earth but a bit more peculiar. There were more trees, some green and some with purple leaves. The clear and bright river of stars that filled the place completed the scenery. And again, the comforting feeling filled the green-eyes boy.

“Let’s go to my room.” The taller said, taking the blonde’s hand.

It felt nice to be taken care of like this and to be in such a peaceful place. He smiled while following the god until they reached their destiny. Both plumped on the bed. After a few seconds, they found the best position in that king size bed and faced each other, getting closer and closer unconsciously. They stared at each other for a while, smiling happy to be there together and then, Craig brushed a few of his messy bangs.

“Have you ever thought of divorcing him? You know you can do it, right?”

Tweek giggled while looking at those profound eyes of the other boy. His fingers traced the lines of his face, admiring his beauty. It was incredible the difference of how heartbroken and sad he felt in the temple to how safe and comfortable he felt in that house in the afterworld.

“I mean, I have but… that would mean that I could never see you again, right?”

“Who said so? You could always call me and I would go to you in an instant.”

“Are you sure? You have time to spare for a mere human?”

“You are not a mere human, Tweek.” The tone of his voice made the blonde quiver and blush. Did his heart skipt a beat?

“Anyways, I still have to be his husband since my family wants his blessing. So, there’s no option for me.”

The silence filled the room and Tweek searched for Craig’s eyes who were glued towards his mouth, in deep thought. This only made the blonde more conscious of the intimate moment they were sharing. Was this allowed?

“What if… I told you I could give my blessing to your family instead?” His eyes finally met his, and made his cheeks feel warmer and warmer.

“Um… can you?”

“Yeah.”

“But wouldn’t we have to… marry first?”

“Yeah…”

His heart started to pound his chest like crazy. Did he hear right? Marry… Craig? Was it possible? Was it legal? Is it a dream? He pinched his own cheek and confirmed he was in his senses and it was real. But then…

“Do you want to? Marry me? Craig? Ngh.”

There was silence and the green eyed noticed how the taller one was trying to hide his embarrassment. He was blushing and he was nervous. He could feel it and that only could mean one thing, right? Could it be that Craig…?

“Yeah…”

His heart was racing but his eyes teared up. Tweek his face on Craig's chest and, again, cried, but this time from happiness. It is not the first time that he wished Craig was his husband instead of Kevin. He always cared about him. Every time Kevin failed to protect him, Craig appeared there somehow to help him. Craig had a kind heart who always thought about the spirits who came to the afterworld searching for peace or to reincarnate and let them choose freely and happily. The afterworld was just like earth but even more brighter and vibrant. With the powers of an old god, Craig created this place for everyone and that only confirmed how good of a person the black haired god was. He even took care of his ancestors who were cursed by Kevin before coming to the afterworld.

Why could his family not choose him as the god to marry him? He was just… the guy of his dreams. However, Tweek was trapped in this mess called family tradition. But if Craig was saying the truth which he did not doubt…

“Then let’s do it, Craig…”

“Huh?” His surprise look was mesmerizing, and the blonde took a step closer, kissing his cheek shortly. He saw how Craigs ears turned red due to his pale skin.

“Help me divorce Kevin and let’s marry, Craig.”

“You are not messing with me, are you?”

“Of course not, dummy.”

Giggles and tears filled the room. Craig showered Tweek in short and sweet kisses in his face until Tweek decided to brush his lips against the older’s.

This was the place he was meant to be.
