Time was not something that Trevor and Sypha had an infinite of, like Alucard did. It was the ugly voice that sometimes lingered in the back of their minds, rearing its ugly head from time to time. It was something precious that should be treasured with however long they were afforded.
Alucard hadn’t divulged it to them yet, but the sun rose and set with them both. Everyday was something new, a present that Alucard did not want to squander. Two people who came into his life that he could have never accounted for. Alucard was not one for prophecies and telling the future, but maybe there was some truth to the fable he heard.
Meeting Trevor and Sypha was the gift that was most unexpected to his loneliness. Wasting away in that coffin for a year, and the weeks that followed after the death of his father? That. That was what he expected to be the curse of his to bear until the end of world or his life.
He didn’t think he deserved the reawakened sense within his heart and very being. They were a part of him now. He may have lost one family to the Church and the grief of madness, but in a weird twist of fate, he gained another.
No more were the cold, lonely nights that haunted him for months. Only laughter and joy that filled these hallowed halls now. For now, the sun set on the pain and anguish that plagued the young dhamphir. Tomorrow would be a new day, one filled growth and love, that awaited him and for many more days, weeks, months, and centuries to come.
