Spooky Kitty

Summary:

Chiyu Tamade hates Halloween, but Pareo's so excited to go to Arisa's costume party that she can't say no...

Notes:

This is just a dumb drabble I wrote because I love Halloween and PareChu. I hope you like it!

Work Text:

“Chu2-sama! Come out!”

“No way!” The pink-haired girl shouted from inside her bedroom. She looked absolutely ridiculous right now, and there was no way she was going to show the costume to her girlfriend. Not now, not ever!

“Aww come on, pretty please?”

She frowned. “Don’t pretty please me, it’s not happening.” Why did she even agree to go to this stupid party in the first place? She hated Halloween! She hated the costumes, and the ‘spooky’ music that doesn’t sound even slightly good (she could write a way better song) and that you only listen to for that one night a year, and those strange sweets that taste like mud and have the texture of a jellified brain. People only buy that stuff because the packets are black and orange, there’s no other explanation for owning that crap. But Halloween was Reona’s favourite holiday, so every year she was forced to do something for it…

“Ehhh?” A pout formed on the tall girl’s face. “But what about the party?”

“Shove that stupid party up your ass, I’m not going!” Arisa Ichigaya was throwing a Halloween party (probably Kasumi’s idea) in her basement, and basically everyone in the girl band circle was going. Chiyu and Reona hadn’t received a direct invite, but because Poppin Party were close friends with Lock, she’d managed to get them on the guest list. Chu2 wasn’t at all enthusiastic about the idea, but Pareo had been raving about it non-stop for the past month. She’d never understood why. Nothing ever good came from Halloween parties, and what made it even worse was the fact that it was a costume party. Pareo had suggested that Chu2 go as a cat, “because you always have those cute headphones on! It’s perfect for you, Chu2-sama!” With no other ideas for what to go as, she’d accepted, but now that she was looking at herself in her mirror, she concluded that she’d made a mistake. She looked ridiculous. Absolutely sodding ridiculous.

“But Chu2-sama, I don’t want to go alone…”

“Don’t go then!”

“But-” A disappointed whimper left the girl’s lips, but she gave up pushing. “Ok…” She trudged off, looking down at her hands, swaying at her sides.

Chiyu sighed. Pareo’s sadness was her only weakness. She couldn’t let her walk away disappointed, so she opened the door and went after her. “Pareo, I’m sorry…” She kept following behind her, and when she caught up to her she grabbed hold of her wrist. “I didn’t mean it. I’ll go to the party with you if that’s what you want.”

Pareo stopped in her tracks and turned around. She looked down at her petite girlfriend, and a light blush spread across her face like a fever. A black hoodie, puffy skirt, and black tights, finished off with a pair of cat ears with little bells on them. It was a simple costume, but it was… oh so perfect for little Chiyu. Squealing in excitement, she scooped the girl up in her arms, spinning her around quickly as she held her close to her chest. “You look adorable! I knew you would!”

Chiyu’s face went beet red, her legs swaying as she was spun. “Pareo!” She whined. “Put me down this instant!”

“Heh… sorry Chu2-sama…” She laughed nervously, and placed the small girl back on the floor. “I couldn’t help it, you’re just so cute!”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever…” After rolling her eyes, she took a second to admire her girlfriend’s costume choice. Reona had dressed as a witch this year, wearing a form-fitting dress that poofed out at the bottom and high boots. Resting on top of her hair, which she’d dyed orange and purple for the occasion, was a black witch’s hat, with a dangly spider hanging on the end. Her blush deepened slightly. “You look… really nice, by the way…” She’d never been good at giving compliments, they always came out as stutters, but she couldn’t not compliment her girlfriend when she looked like this.

“Hehe~ Thank you Chu2-sama.” She laughed nervously, clearly flustered by the rare compliment, and rubbed the back of her neck. “You look really nice too-”

“I know. You’ve said three times already.” She rolled her eyes, and then chuckled. It wasn’t like she minded being told she was cute, not by Reona at least. If it was anyone else, she’d scratch their eyes out, but Reona got a pass. After a few seconds of the pair gazing at each other and not saying anything, she cleared her throat. “Are we going to this party or not? It starts soon, and Lock’s going to be disappointed if we don’t show up…”

“It’s unlike you to consider other’s feelings, Chu2-sama.”

“W-What’s that supposed to mean?” She half stammered; half spat. “I always consider your feelings, don’t I? Lock and the others are a bonus.” Pareo raised her eyebrows, her smile slowly turning into a smirk, and Chiyu pouted, folding her arms. “Just- take me to this stupid party before I change my mind.”

“Yes Chu2-sama!” Pareo grabbed her hand, and they left for Arisa’s place, giggling happily to herself as they went. Chiyu smiled, finding her giggle to be adorable. Who knows? Maybe she’d even enjoy tonight…

Ha! Like that’s ever going to happen!
