Beomgyu was refreshing the youtube page waiting for the cover to be released. He knew his boyfriends had been working on it for him, as an anniversary present and was anticipating the upload with bated breath. They’d all been together for six months, and they couldn’t be happier.
The clock hit midnight, and the video was up. He took a deep breath and opened up. He immediately paused it; he made sure his volume was all the way up and his headphones were on. Breathing deeply, he pressed play.
Yeonjun’s face took up the screen as he turned the camera on. The music started and Beomgyu tried to prepare himself for what was coming next.
Yeonjun starts singing.
"I do the same thing I told you that I never would
I told you I'd change, even when I knew I never could
Know that I can't find nobody else as good as you
I need you to stay, need you to stay, hey"
Beomgyu releases the breath he didn’t know he was holding and soaks in the words. They need him.
"When I'm away from you, I miss your touch (Ooh)
You're the reason I believe in love
It's been difficult for me to trust (Ooh)
And I'm afraid that I'ma fuck it up"
Beomgyu refuses to cry at the lyrics. He feels so much love for his idiot boyfriends, who decided a Justin Bieber song was the best way to share their feelings for him.
Taehyun starts singing in his angelic voice.
"Ain't no way that I can leave you stranded
'Cause you ain't never left me empty-handed
And you know that I know that I can't live without you
So, baby, stay"
This is what sends Beomgyu over the edge, a single tear rolls down his cheek. Overflowing with love, his heart is beating out of his chest. He wishes the boys were with him as he watched them sing about how much they love him for the whole world to see, not that the world know it’s about him.
"Oh, ooh-whoa (Oh, ooh-whoa, ooh-whoa)
Oh, ooh-whoa (Oh, ooh-whoa, ooh-whoa)
Oh, ooh-whoa (Oh, ooh-whoa, ooh-whoa)
I'll be fucked up if you can't be right here"
The chemistry between the two as they sing causes a smile to bloom on his face, the apples of his cheeks becoming more pronounced. The way they says ‘fuck’ lights a fire in the pit of his stomach and once again wishes they were by his side.
When Taehyun repeats the verse, another tear escapes from his eyes and he wipes it away across his smiling face. He’s so in love. When the video ends, the same way it started, he removes his headphones and takes he deep breath.
He composes himself and goes to find his boyfriends. They’re cuddled together on the couch. He ambushes them, falling over the arm of the sofa into they’re personal space.
“I hate you both.”
“Love you too gyu,” they respond in unison, kissing him on both his cheeks.
“You made me cry to a fucking Justin Bieber song. That was cute as fuck. I love you both so much.”
“We didn’t mean to make you cry, you’re so precious to us.” Yeonjun emphasises his point by cupping Beomgyu’s face in his hands and pecking him on the lips.
“Life would suck without you,” Taehyun mumbles into Beomgyu’s neck.
