The commander's lap is a very special place. It not only has the thing that makes girls blush and squeal higher than they have ever before, but it has some special properties.
The commander's lap puts any girl in a safe place. When in the commander's lap they feel at ease. Any worries about life and death are lifted. They can relax and be normal girls. They can also use this opportunity to talk to the commander about any problems they have.
The commander's lap can put any girl to sleep. The commander's lap can overwhelm all five senses of a shipgirl putting them in a stupor then falling asleep snoring softly into their arms. The senses that get overloaded are sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing.
2a.) Sight: When in the commander's lap they can see their commander's face and every detail. However the proximity of being so close causes them to become extremely embarrassed when they want to get up and leave, but looking into the eyes of the commander puts them at ease.
2b.) Smell: Being this close to the commander they can smell the commander's natural scent and perfume/cologne. This causes their heart to race, and causes their head to become lightheaded and in a fog. This will cause them to fall forward into the commander's chest.
2c.) Taste: As they lean against the commander their pupils may turn into hearts. With this they may kiss the commander, shoving their tongues into the commander's mouth. This will cause them to get a taste of what the commander may have eaten or drunk throughout the day. It might be a food or drink the shipgirl may like and with her saliva mixing with theirs, their brain will register it as a memory for them to recall.
2d.) Touch: When they rest against the commander they could feel the commander's body heat and their heartbeat. Being this close to the commander and hearing their steady heartbeat puts them in a state where all they want to do is fall asleep while holding onto the commander as they can dream as being a regular girl and not a girl who was designed for war and having to worry about if this next sortie will be their final one.
2e.) If a shipgirl confesses her love to the commander or is already in a relationship with the commander they will hear the commander's voice. The commander would say nothing, but sweet things into their ears. The calm smooth voice of the commander puts them at ease just like a parent telling their child everything will be ok.
With all five senses overloaded a shipgirl no matter her nation or energy level will fall asleep in the commander's arms and be held closely. They will wake up refreshed and possibly embarrassed and apologizing profusely for taking up their time. Yet this will help deepen the bond between the two as the girls can rely on the commander not only on the battlefield, but off of it as well. As they know the commander will let them be a normal woman.
