Alex and Kelly have been living together for about a month. Kelly has been cheating for a month. She has been telling Alex a big fat lie: that she has been meeting friends but has been meeting Penny instead.
She met Penny at a party that Alex couldn’t go to. Kelly could tell that Alex still had feelings for Maggie so that made her want to cheat instead of telling Alex that she wanted to break up. She could tell by the way that Alex would look at pictures of Maggie and of the two of them together, and because she still had her contact info in her phone. The pictures were of Alex and Maggie at happy times, like on their first date and times when Kara took pictures of them. Alex had a smile on her face when she looked at the pictures and felt happy.
One time, at nighttime, doing separate things, Kelly was unpacking her stuff. Alex was making room for Kelly’s stuff and found pictures. That was the first time. And Alex keeps going back to look at them.
Alex does not know that Kelly sees her looking at the pictures. Kelly is feeling that she can’t live up to what Alex and Maggie had. And it makes her mad, angry, sad, and that’s when she makes up her mind that she wants to cheat on Alex. She doesn’t want to hurt Alex by breaking up, but in the end, she ends up hurting her anyway by cheating.
Alex had been thinking about ending things with Kelly when she finds out that Kelly was cheating on her, walking in on them in bed with each other.
Kelly had brought Penny there because she figured that Alex wouldn’t be there. She was at work.
Alex comes in, home from work to grab something to eat before she has to go back again. She goes to the kitchen, not even knowing that Kelly is home. She starts making a sandwich and then she turns and sees them in bed and kissing. They did not even notice that Alex came in.
Alex just ran out of the room. She was crying. She couldn’t bring herself to say anything. She ran out the door. And Kelly wrapped a robe around herself and ran after Alex.
She caught up to Alex all the way outside of the apartment building out on the sidewalk. Alex did not even look at Kelly while she was trying to talk to Alex by telling her how much she did not mean to hurt her.
Alex just cuts her off and said to Kelly, “I want you to move out of my apartment before I come home from work tonight. Also, I do not want you to call me or text message.”
Kelly says, “Alex, is that what you want now?”
Alex says, “Yes Kelly. Goodbye Kelly, have good life and be happy with her too.”
Kelly goes back in and tells Penny she just broke up with Alex and Penny is happy and confesses her love to Kelly. And Kelly says, “I love you too” to Penny. Penny helps Kelly pack up all her stuff and Kelly goes to live with Penny.
Alex just walks away from her ex-girlfriend Kelly. She is feeling kind of sad, but she had a feeling that she knew it was going to happen. She is getting into her work car, a big black SUV, and cries for a couple minutes in the car. Then she composes herself and then starts driving back. It’s an easy drive back to work.

Alex gets to her job at the DEO, and she sees her sister Kara through the windows of the conference room. Kara is talking to somebody in the conference room. She is dressed in her street clothes having just been having lunch with Lena.
Alex really wants to talk to someone when she walks into her workplace, and so she is happy to see her sister. Kara finally sees Alex come inside the conference room. The other person leaves when Alex comes in.
Kara says, “Hi Alex,” and she asks Alex, “What is wrong with you?” She could tell something was wrong because Alex was crying before she came into the building. Kara could see where she had wiped the tears off.
Alex says with disbelief, “Kara, I just walked in on Kelly in my bed with someone else and I broke up with her and told her to get her things out of my place before I come home tonight from work.”
Kara asks Alex, “Are you ok with what happened with Kelly?”
Then Alex says, “I will be. It will take some time to heal after this break up.”
Kara says, “Yes. You will be ok Alex.” And she gives her a hug. Kara says, “Let’s do a sister night at my apartment tonight to talk about it some more.”
Alex says that’s a good idea.

Later, Kara is at home. She hears the door knock and it’s Alex coming in. They are going to watch a bunch of Hallmark movies. Kara ordered the food, and it was already delivered to Kara’s house. They are going to have pizza and Kara is going to have her pot stickers.
Alex is in her normal clothes now. She is happy to be at Kara’s house and not her house. She is happy not to be at her house because she thinks Kelly could still be there.
Kara says, “Hi Alex,” and gives Alex a hug.
Alex says, “Hi Kara.” She is feeling in between feeling sad and happy. She is sad because she can’t believe Kelly did that, and happy because she gets to hang out with Kara.
They sit down to eat dinner, sitting on the couch. They start the movies. They are watching a sappy love story which makes Alex sad. Alex says that she wishes that she never let Maggie go in the first place because she still loves her. She wishes she knew where Maggie was at.
Kara says she heard from Lena that Maggie was back in town.

Maggie had been in Boston, working as a cop. She was a captain of the Science Division in their police department. One day when she was having a bad day, she just felt like she needed to talk to the one person that could help. But she realized that she is not with that person anymore. It was Alex Danvers; then she realized that she was still in love with her after all this time. She wanted to go to back to home to National City, to fight for Alex Danvers because she still had feelings for her.
Then a couple of days later, she got this phone call out of the blue. It was Kara calling Maggie to see how Maggie was doing, and to tell her that Alex still loved her -- just like Maggie does -- loved her very much.
Maggie said, “Hello Kara. How are you doing lately?”
Kara said, “Maggie! I am doing good. Alex told me to not tell you this: it is that Alex still loves you, Maggie. She and Kelly are having problems with each other because Alex thinks that Kelly is cheating on her with someone from Seattle named Penny. She has almost caught them in the act of having sex in Alex’s bed when Alex come into the apartment! She could tell Kelly wasn’t telling her about her friendship with Penny.”
Maggie said, “Wow, Kara.” Maggie told Kara that she was moving back to home where she met her true love.
Kara said, “That’s great, Maggie!’
She also said to Kara, “Please don’t tell Alex that I’m moving back.”
