Work Text:
Jay couldn’t wait to collapse from exhaustion. They recently learnt a new choreography and as fun as it seemed to be, it was a thorough and tiring routine. “One more run through and you’ll be freed from this room” is what their choreographer said but they’ve been through three runs since then. Seeing the state of the tired boys, the choreographer finally put an end to the boys’ misery.
A loud chorus of gratitude came from the members. As soon as the choreographer left, Jay dramatically fell to the floor.
“Leave me be here,” he groans while facing the floor, “I'm finally at peace.”
The members pay no attention to him, too used to his dramatics.
Jay scoffs, “Some members I have… no one cares about me possibly dying… right in front of their eyes!”
“Oh no, we cannot lose our chef,” Jungwon states dryly.
The statement brings out a gasp from the mentioned boy, “Is that all I am to you Wonie? A CHEF? After all these years, this is how you treat me… I- I feel so betrayed!”
Jungwon rolls his eyes while Sunoo lets out a small giggle, “Well based on your energy levels, it definitely doesn’t seem like you’ll be dying anytime soon, and so we won’t die from starvation either.”
“Heyyy— I can cook too?!?” Jake whines from the corner of the room
“Now would you look at that, seems like it doesn’t matter whether you make it out of this room alive or not Jay hyung,” Ni-ki says as he pats Jake’s back, “We’ll just continue eating ramyeon for the rest of our lives!”
“That’s actually not a bad idea—”
“Hey— I can cook more than that!!”
Both Heeseung and Jake respond at the same time. The conversation then shifts to whether one could possibly survive on ramyeon only.
Jay continues to remain on the floor, baffled by how easily his members paid no attention to him on his possible deathbed. ‘Wahh— your members really left you for the dead’ said the little voice in his head. He shushes the mind and stays glued to his place.
He felt someone nudge him, “Hnngh— I need to be alone, I’m dying and no one cares for me.”
The reply comes in the form of his favourite giggle, “Okay then, I guess you won’t need this bottle of water.”
This gets Jay to turn over and face Sunghoon. He makes grabby motions towards the bottle.
“You’re such a baby Jongseong-ah, how do you take care of everyone when you can’t even take care of yourself,” he says while settling down to sit near Jay’s legs, leaning back onto the mirror.
Sunghoon looks at Jay with so much joy, the stars in his eyes sparkle, and his dimple slowly peeks out. This causes Jay’s heart to do backflips, but he won’t ever tell anyone that.
Jay sits up straight, right next to Sunghoon. “Ahh my hero Hoon~ I don’t know what I’d do without you,” he swoons dramatically, resting his head on the mentioned hero’s shoulder. The little voice commended his performance, ‘Nicely done Jay, that was very smooth.’
“Please, more like we don’t know what to do without you…” Sunghoon whispers as he lays his head on top of Jay’s.
The two of them stay silent and observe the members around them. Jake and Heeseung were still arguing about life based on ramyeon only, while Ni-ki simply enjoyed their debate with a wide boxy smile. The pocketz were in their own world, probably gossiping about things in school, letting out small giggles, and slapping each other.
Noticing how the energy levels of the team were relatively low, given that they had a tiring practice, Jay decided it would be best to gather everyone up and head back to the dorms.
As if he could read Jay’s mind, Sunghoon asks, “We should get going, shouldn’t we?”
“Hmmm...” Jay replies with a nod, snuggling into the shoulder. ‘That’s the opposite of going, you dumbass’ says the voice.
“I guess my shoulder is just that comfy,” Sunghoon giggles, seeing how Jay makes no move despite his confirmation.
Jay huffs softly “Oh please, you have a coat hanger for shoulders, I’m pretty sure that’s the complete opposite of comfy.” A scoff comes from the voice that sounds an awful lot like Jungwon, ‘L I A R, LIAR’.
“Uh-huh, so why haven’t you made a single move yet?” Sunghoon prods.
“I’m just too tired, okay! I’m in the process of regaining my life!!” Jay whispers exasperated.
Sunghoon giggles once again, shaking his whole body in the process, “You make it sound like you’re a robot getting recharged.”
Jay whines, “How could I possibly get recharged if you keep moving.” He then moves to get his head off the shoulder, all while pouting. He turns and sees Sunghoon’s eyes filled with mirth.
“You didn’t deny that you’re a robot!” Sunghoon exclaims, “I knew there was something fishy about you, you’re too good to be true,” he goes on to poke around Jay. “Where’s your power button, I know you have it somewhere,” Sunghoon asks, proceeding to tickle the other boy during his search.
This causes Jay to guffaw and land on the floor, with Sunghoon on top of him, who continues to tickle the poor boy. The members' attention is brought to the laughing duo at once.
“Well well well, look what we have here—” starts Jungwon,
“It’s our very own black and white couple—” continues Sunoo,
Ni-ki picks up from there “So lost in their own bubble, completely forgetting—”
“About us single folks” ends the maknae line in unison.
“We’re not together!!” denies the aforementioned couple.
The trio gives them one glance over. Taking note of their compromising position, Sunghoon quickly scrambles off Jay and helps him get off the ground as well. ‘That could've gone better’ Jay mentally shushes the voice as it was not helping in any way. Not that it usually did.
Still stunned by the maknaes, the middle 02’ stated “That was so creepy.”
At the same time, their eldest questioned, “Did y’all practice this in advance?”
The two turn to look at each, “Why do you always speak when I do?” they ask at the same time, “Jinx” “Jinx” “Jinx”
Seeing that the attention is moving from him and Sunghoon to the other two hyungs, Jay’s inner voice urges him to jump on this opportunity and steer the things away from them quickly. Jay clears his throat, “Okay then, that just confirms the well-known fact that those two are twins indeed- nothing new to us.”
“Don’t think we forgot about you and your one and only unit, Jongseong-ah,” Heeseung teases in return.
“Ahh hyungg, i’m not doing any such thing!” whined the younger of the 5yearz causing the older to cackle at the pouty boy.
Sunghoon laughs along with the rest of the members, and Jay has never felt more betrayed in life ever. ‘Oh C’mon, you are enjoying his laugh, you filthy liar’, prods his inner voice, and yet again Jay chooses to ignore it.
Thankfully Ni-ki decides to spare his hyung from any more embarrassment and loudly chants, “If you don’t show your hand, you’re gonna lose, SCISSORS, ROCK, PAPER!!” bringing out whines from the other members about the randomness of the game and their unpreparedness.
Pro-whiner Sunghoon questions Ni-ki, “What is this even for Riki-yah...?”
“Obviously for whoever is gonna shower here in the main building,” this alerts everyone, causing demands for another round as it was out of the blue.
“Fine… you hyungs are just sore losers…” the maknae grumbles as he rolls his eyes.
After multiple rounds of the decisive game, it was declared that the losers were none other than Heeseung and Sunghoon.
“This is so not fair, y’all must’ve rigged this!!” Heeseung whines as he throws a mini tantrum, “How is it that Hoon and I constantly get last place and have to shower here,” stomping his feet in a manner that was endearing more than anything else.
Jay cackles in his hyung’s face, “Serves you right for teasing me unnecessarily.”
“But what about meeeee…” responds an equally pouty Sunghoon.
Jay ignores the way his heart melts at the sight, “Well you did not back me up and you just laughed with them!”
This only causes the boy to pout even more, causing Jay to look away with a huff. ‘Damn boy, your heart is racing and he is only pouting right now’ remarks the little voice, ‘you’re more whipped than whipped cream!’
The members bid goodbye to the two losers and quickly piled into the car. The ride back to their dorms was relatively quiet since they all were drained from their continuous practice.
Usually, Jay would be dozing off while listening to music. This time he chose to engage with the nighttime scenery instead.
As the moon shines through the dark night, it brings about a sense of calmness and peace within Jay. The effect reminds him an awful lot about Sunghoon.
The moon is a steady and quiet presence that brings about light to get rid of the darkness. Sunghoon does the exact same for Jay. Sure they argue and bicker a lot but, they also look after one another in subtle manners. It takes Sunghoon one look at Jay to know his mood, always ready to lift up the atmosphere or offer a shoulder whenever the latter is a bit down.
Another thing that strikes Jay, is how Sunghoon’s eyes turn into crescent moons when he can’t help himself but let out a loud laugh that contrasts his ‘ice prince’ image. He notices that it happens more than often nowadays, and Jay couldn’t be any happier at this development.
While Jay continues to think about the similarities between the moon and Sunghoon, he doesn't realise that the car has come to a stop.
It’s only when Jungwon shakes his shoulder does Jay notice that they are the only ones left in the car. Jay quickly thanks the younger and follows after him, eager to crash onto his bed.
Once they enter the dorm, Jay groans at the realisation that the meeting with his bed will be delayed, as he would be the last one to shower. Technically Jungwon offered to shower after him, but Jay saw how weary the young leader was, so he refused and practically threatened his dongsaeng to go before him.
With plenty of time on his hand, Jay decided to look at the many take-out menus stacked in their kitchen as he knew that none of them had the energy to cook dinner. He soon realised that the decision could not be made by him alone as there would be someone, *coughs* Sunghoon *coughs* who will end up sulking.
Just as Jay was about to give up on their dinner menu, Jake came into the kitchen. The latter took note of the menus that were spread across the table.
“Oh man, we have to eat dinner too… man, I hate this time of the day” Jake complained.
Jay let out a tired chuckle at the younger’s reaction, he was glad that the Australian felt just as hopeless as him when it came to their dinner menu.
Jake’s obnoxious ringtone cut through their mini pity party. It was Heeseung calling. The two boys exchanged looks as it was unusual for their hyung to be calling them at this time.
“Yo hyung, what’s up?” Jake answers as he picks up the call. “Oh Jongseong? He’s right here next to me… I’ll put it on speaker now, one sec.”
“Jongseong-ah! Why can I not get through to your phone? You gave me quite a scare for a minute… you’re lucky Sunghoon is still taking his shower, otherwise he would have the police hunting you down right now!”
Jay rolls his eyes at the caller, “Hyung, no need to be so overdramatic… my phone died and I was too lazy to search for my charger… I will find it after my shower.”
“If anyone would be overdramatic it would be Hoonie.”
Jake butts in, “I would agree to disagree hyung… just don’t let Hoon hear you saying that.”
“Anyways… Why did you call us hyung?” Jay interrupts the two.
“Right... there was a purpose to this call after all...” Heeseung drawls “Well… I thought of getting some pizza as well as chicken to reward the kids for their hard work after this especially tiring day”
Jake smiles fondly at his hyung’s kind thoughts, “That’s a great idea hyung! I think I heard Ni-ki telling Sunoo that he was craving fried chicken and Jungwon joined them talking about how it has been a while since we’ve had pizza, so I think it is perfect.”
“I agree, thanks so much for the initiative hyung, definitely saved us the trouble of thinking what we should order.”
“No problem! Just relax you two, hyung will take care of it!” Heeseung's voice crackles through the phone, “We should be there within an hour, just so long as Hoonie doesn’t take too much time in the shower.”
A whine from the background came, “I’m already out and I didn’t take that much time hyung! You just take showers at lightning speed.”
“Sure Hoon-ah, whatever makes you feel better.” Heeseung ignores the whine from the background and brings his attention back to the call, “Okay then we shall be there soon with dinner!”
The two boys respond, “Thank you hyung! See you two.”
Jay takes one look at Jake’s lovestruck expression after the call ends, “You want some 10k angst to go with your mutual pining?”
This causes the boy to snap out of his daze and push his fellow 02, “Like you are one to talk Mr. ‘I didn't tell you enough but I really like you.’”
“Yah— how do you know that by heart?!” “It was one very impactful pining line.”
The two boys then just stare at each other for a good couple of seconds. They burst into a fit of giggles immediately. Both boys were pining after oblivious idiots and the situation couldn’t get any funnier to them.
And that is how Jungwon finds his hyungs in the kitchen. Jake was literally on the floor almost dying from the laughter while Jay had tears rolling down his face while he was on the verge of falling off his chair.
Jungwon looks at them with concern. Since they seem to not notice his presence, he clears his throat, “Umm, Jay hyung? It’s your turn to shower.”
Jay manages to speak through his teary laughter, “Thanks Jungwonie.”
He then collects himself and helps Jake off the ground, all while still being unable to completely silence the giggles. Jungwon slowly leaves the room, slightly creeped out by their non-stop laughter.
Once the leader reaches the living room, Sunoo sends him a questioning look. “Don’t even ask,” Jungwon states, “Let’s just say that they have finally lost their minds.”
Soon Jay’s shower is done, the remaining two members reach the dorm, and the group is finally having a hearty meal. The maknae line were super pleased with the surprise dinner and thanked the hyungs profusely, which led to a beaming Heeseung. Everyone practically inhaled the food from how famished they were.
“I think this is the quietest we’ve ever been,” comments Jungwon, leading to a chorus of laughter among the members.
“Well I hope you guys aren’t too full, because hyung and I got y’all another surprise!” Sunghoon said as he stood up to get a plain plastic bag.
Heeseung pitched in, “I almost did not buy this, but Hoon over here insisted that it would be the perfect way to end the meal.”
“It’s none other than… ICE CREAMMM!!” exclaimed Sunghoon.
The members whooped at the sight of the multiple cups. The boy distributed the individual flavours. Of course, without failing to make a face at Sunoo’s favourite flavour, the action is returned with a tongue from the younger.
This simple exchange brings out soft giggles from Jay. He can’t help but feel content in the presence of his teammates. Before he could go too deep into his thoughts, there was a cup being waved right in front of his face.
“And pistachio for our Jongsaenggg!”
He rolls his eyes at the younger’s antics but still takes his ice cream eagerly, “Thanks Hoon-ah”
Sunghoon gives a gentle smile combined with a soft gaze that is specially reserved for him, and it takes all of Jay’s willpower not to kiss it off his face. He should really get a hold of himself.
Jay finally manages to look away from the mini staring session they just had, hoping that his face isn’t red, all while failing to notice Sunghoon’s own fiery red ears. The former looks around to see if anyone witnessed their moment, only to see Jake staring back with a teasing look, and he immediately looks away, willing himself to not blush any further.
Instead, he chose to distract himself with the ice cream in front of him. It helps Jay cool down to a certain extent, however, it’s powerless against the flame in his heart.
‘Wow Jongseong, that was cheesy as fuck’ exclaimed the little voice who suddenly chose to make an appearance at this time. Jay agrees begrudgingly but silences the voice for the rest of the night, he didn’t have any energy left to argue with his own mind.
The next thing Jay knew was that the maknaes were jumping around the dorm, high from the sugary sweet substance.
Not willing to mingle with the chaos, Jay chose to retreat to his bedroom after bidding his members a good night with sweet dreams. That is if the younger members ever calmed down. He felt sorry for their fourth roommate but was glad he wasn’t in the boy’s position.
Just as he enters his room, he notices a lump under his blankets. Jay looks around and notices that his own roommate wasn’t in the room yet. He slowly approaches his own bed and pokes the lump as if trying to wake a hibernating bear.
The bundle moves and slurs, “Hnggh— stop poking me.”
Ignoring the sleepy boy, Jay continues to poke him for answers, “What are you doing here? Who gave you permission to sleep on my precious bed? Don’t you have a bed of your own? Last time I checked you were too clean for us—”
“Shhh—” a hand comes out from under the blanket, blindly trying to shut Jay’s mouth, “Stop asking so many questions and stop being so loud, oh my god.”
Jay glares at the boy and decides to lick the hand on his face. “Ewww— that’s so grossss, why would you do that?!??” Sunghoon shrieks as he sits up abruptly.
“Well, now that you are wide awake, give me my answers,” Jay all but deadpans.
Sunghoon rolls his eyes, “Jeez, you could have just asked kindly instead of being unhygienic.”
Jay goes to protest, but Sunghoon pays no attention to him and carries on, “As you probably know the maknaes are way too awake right now and I cannot deal with them, and so I have decided to take refuge in your room.”
“Now whose fault it is for giving the kids ice cream late at night?”
“Heyyy— I didn’t hear any complaints from you earlier.”
“Well, I’m not the one whose suffering now am I.”
Sunghoon huffs as he has no proper retort. Jay, satisfied with the victory, pushes the other towards the wall, “Move you idiot, how do you expect us to sleep if you just sit there grumpily all night long.”
Sleeping in the same bed was not a foreign concept to the two boys. They used to do it often when they were trainees, constantly confiding in one another during the darkest hours. Lately, it has been a rarity, the current room arrangement further hinders any possibility.
The last time was when Jay found a bug on his bed which led him to jump onto the top bunk which ‘coincidentally’ happened to be Sunghoon’s bed. Whether it was mere coincidence or not, Jay knew how to make the most of the opportunity, and so he used the younger boy as his personal teddy bear for the rest of the night.
After getting themselves comfortable in bed, well, as comfortable as two grown up boys on a twin bed can be, Jay turns to look at Sunghoon. Distracted by how close the other boy is, he almost forgets to ask the question on his mind. Emphasis on almost.
“So, where’s Jake?”
The simple question brings all but a mischievous smile onto Sunghoon’s face, “He said something about learning some production stuff from Heeseung hyung.”
He then moves impossibly closer to Jay and whispers, “But between you and me, I think it is just an excuse to see his crush’s concentrated face.”
He adds in a wink for emphasis which causes Jay to let out a loud guffaw and soon the room was filled with their giggles.
Once the giggles slowly died down, Jay asked, “So you plan on staying here for the night?”
“Yesss, I’m way too comfy right now, so there is absolutely no way you can get rid of me tonight,” Sunghoon responds with a very cheeky smile. For the second time that night, Jay has to hold himself back from kissing the bright eyed boy in front of him.
Clueless to the dilemma going on in Jay’s head, Sunghoon stretches to switch off the light in the room, shrouding them in darkness instantly.
The soft moonlight slips past the curtains and gently illuminates the room. The two boys face one another and just stare in the dark, both appreciating the other’s beauty in comfortable silence.
Sunghoon softly whispers, “Take a picture, it’ll last longer,” instantly breaking whatever spell they were under.
Jay shoves the boy for his sudden flirtiness, “Shut up! You need sleep, you’re becoming delusional.”
“Whatever helps you sleep at night Jongseongie,” Sunghoon responds nonchalantly as he slowly wraps his arm around Jay’s waist, pulling him in closer.
And just like that Jay melts into the taller’s embrace. He swears that Sunghoon can hear how fast his heart is beating from the close proximity.
Jay rests his head on the boy’s chest and gently closes his eyes, losing himself to his dreams almost immediately. If he hears Sunghoon’s heartbeat racing as fast as his, he pays no attention to it.
If he feels a featherlight kiss on his forehead followed by a soft whisper, “Goodnight Jay-ah”, he pays no attention to it either. Summing both up to be the beginnings of his dream.
The feeling of being watched is what arouses Sunghoon from his deep slumber. Slowly blinking his eyes open, he is greeted by Jay’s peacefully sleeping face. He notices that their position changed at some point during the night, with Jay on his back while Sunghoon himself was sleeping on his left arm while his right was still tightly wrapped over the older’s waist.
He also takes note of how their intertwined hands rest on Jay’s stomach. The way their hands fit together like missing puzzle pieces does something to Sunghoon’s heart. He finds it very endearing to say the very least.
So lost in his thoughts about the sleeping boy, he almost forgets the reason why he awoke in the first place. Lifting his head, Sunghoon meets a gaze full of amusement.
“What the hell?” Sunghoon whisper shouts, “You almost gave me a minor attack, you creep.”
Jake rolls his eyes, “Mhmm, not like you were staring Jay down, you lovestruck fool.”
Sunghoon chooses to ignore the comment, “When did you get back?”
“I didn’t.” The youngest perks up at the response, “What do you mean you didn’t…?”
“I mean I didn’t…” Jake replied with a blazing blush, “I slept with Heeseung hyung,” he murmured the rest of his sentence.
Sunghoon thinks he caught the words, but he asks again just to tease the Australian, “Sorry where did you sleep?”
“UGH WITH HEESEUNG HYUNG!” Jake practically screams in frustration.
Jay shifts in Sunghoon’s arms, turning to face him. This causes Jake to be on the receiving end of the younger’s glare. Jake takes the hint and starts to leave the room.
“Jaeyun-ah, don’t think I’m letting you off the hook so easily, you and I are gonna have a conversation after breakfast,” Sunghoon starts off sternly, before he lets a goofy smile overtake his face. “You have to tell me everything about last night,” the boy whispers excitedly.
His excitement causes Jake to blush even more and nod shyly before leaving promptly.
Sunghoon can’t help but smile ridiculously. He assumes that his best friend’s blush only means that he has had some sort of progress with his crush. Now all that’s left is for them to stop their mutual pining, their heart eyes are painfully evident to everyone except themselves.
Ironic, considering how Sunghoon has been doing the same with Jay.
Contrary to popular belief, Sunghoon is not oblivious to Jay’s tsundere-softie behaviour towards him. It gives him hope, that maybe just maybe, his feelings are reciprocated after all. But then there are those moments where he sees Jay hesitate to make a move and it makes Sunghoon wonder whether he made it all up in his head.
Sunghoon is scared that if he makes the first move, things may not be as they seem, and he would be ruining a friendship that’s so dear to him.
It’s these thoughts that get Sunghoon stuck in his head and makes him a coward. But, Park Sunghoon would rather be a coward than lose his one and only unit.
The one who is currently fast asleep in his arms.
Park Jongseong. Park Jay.
The fire to his ice, the extrovert to his introvert, the calm to his crack, the list goes on.
The younger then chooses to not deal with his thoughts anymore. They were too much for the early morning and there were other things he would prefer to do. Such as staring at the boy next to him.
Jay’s face is a masterpiece in Sunghoon’s humble opinion.
He scans the older’s features and admires them one by one. Starting with his forehead. The forehead he kissed gently last night when a quick sense of bravado came over him.
The boy blushes as he recalls the action and quickly moves on to the other’s eyebrows. Well, there’s not much to say, except for one word - perfection. Not a single stray hair out of place.
The older’s perfectly lined and sleek eyebrows were a complete contrast to Sunghoon’s own thick pair. Much like many other qualities between the duo, but Sunghoon believes that these contrasts make their chemistry so special.
Just below are the most beautiful pair of eyes Sunghoon has ever seen. Currently they were closed of course, but the boy could vividly recall the moments where Jay’s eyes shone brighter than any other light in the room. Sunghoon especially loves it when said pair of eyes crinkle whenever Jay reaches the peak of his happiness.
Speaking of peaks, Jay’s nose was unbeatable. Yet another feature that could even be considered to be one of the best in the whole world.
Trailing down the perfect slope, Sunghoon’s gaze lands on Jay’s soft pink lips. The way Jay’s lips unconsciously fall into a pout often has the younger weak in knees every single time.
Sunghoon also notices that the pair of lips were no longer chapped, and can’t help but be relieved as it meant that the older was finally taking better care of himself.
He slowly skims past the sharp jawline that could easily rival his own, and lands on his favourite spot. The heart-shaped birthmark on the left side of Jongseong’s neck. Quite a perfect representation for the boy who is just so lovable and constantly showering others in love.
So caught up in admiring the handsome boy, Sunghoon doesn’t realise that there is barely any space between them. He can feel the other’s steady breathing on his face. If he leans forward, there was a high possibility their lips would meet. He wonders what it would be like.
Sunghoon finally snaps out of his daze once he realises that he was being super weird.
‘What in the world?!? Was I about to kiss Jongseong while he was sleeping? He is not sleeping beauty for fucks sake, get a grip of yourself—’
Sunghoon’s self berating was interrupted, “So are you going to kiss me or what?”
Startled by the sleeping beauty who is suddenly awake, the taller boy backs away immediately, hitting his head against the wall in the process. He whines in pain, and he slowly opens his eyes to see Jay trying to hold back his laughter.
“Yah— are you laughing at the pain you just caused me?!”
Flustered by the situation, Sunghoon decides there’s only one way to get revenge. He immediately tickles the older boy, which causes him to let out all his giggles. And so, a tickle fight began.
The two boys kept tickling one another but then the younger had an advantage as he got on top of the other. Soon they both got exhausted from all the tickling and giggling.
The position reminds them an awful lot of the previous evening where their members teased them relentlessly, but neither made a move. Too scared to break the sudden fragility of the atmosphere.
Jay looks at Sunghoon with particular emotion in his eyes, he has yet to identify it. For some reason, the same bravado that overcame Sunghoon last night came back to him.
He slowly leans down from where his straddling Jay’s waist. Never breaking eye contact and stopping once their foreheads gently touch each other. They both gently closed their eyes, allowing themselves to be lost in the moment.
Jay decides to take a leap of faith, “I was not joking about earlier” he whispers, hoping for Sunghoon to get the hint this time.
Sunghoon slowly opens his eyes to meet Jay’s. He brings his palm to cup Jay’s cheek. He looks at the boy’s lips and then looks back at his eyes, only to see the boy staring at his lips.
And for the first time, both boys don’t hold themselves back anymore. They finally meet halfway.
The kiss is just as soft as the blanket that covered the two boys. They were sheltered in their own bubble, the noises from outside did not bother them as they took their sweet time discovering this new feature to their relationship.
It felt so unreal to Jay, it was almost as if he was still dreaming, but the warmth on his cheeks let him know it is as real as it gets.
In a similar manner, Sunghoon feels like he’s on cloud nine, and the only thing keeping him grounded is Jongseong’s hands in his hair.
Jay reluctantly breaks the kiss, the need for oxygen getting to him. Sunghoon whines as he tries to follow the older boy’s lips. Realising what he just did, Sunghoon snaps his eyes wide open to meet Jay’s own filled with mirth.
“That did not happen, you did not hear anything,” Sunghoon splutters as he tries to defend himself.
Jay gently pulls the flustered boy down and gives him a soft peck, “Sure babe, whatever you say.”
The sudden endearment flusters Sunghoon even more, “Oh shut up!”
“Make me,” Sunghoon rolls his eyes at the cliché line, but dives in for another kiss anyways.
The second kiss is just as soft as the first, the boys indulge in the movement of their lips, not a single care for the world beyond them. They are so lost in one another, they don’t hear the bedroom door open.
“What the—'' Sunghoon immediately breaks away to sit up straight, frantically turning towards the sound. There stood a flabbergasted Jake, his eyes analysing the way Jay’s hands were settled on Sunghoon’s hips while the latter straddled the former.
The youngest of the three tries to scramble off Jay’s lap but the older refuses to let go, causing Sunghoon to blush, all while Jake groans simultaneously, “I did not need to witness this shit early in the morning.”
Jay chooses to glare at the other, “What do you want?”
“Geez, no need to be so hostile Jongseong! I was sent to check whether you were awake or not…” Jake grumbles, “Be glad it was me who came, who knows what riot would have taken place otherwise.”
“Well as you can see I am awake and so is Sunghoonie, but we are busy so can you please leave?” Jay deadpans.
“I cannot believe you are kicking me out of my own room! Whatever happened to bros before hoes?” Jake ignores Sunghoon’s protest, and continues to lament, “After everything we have been through, I really thought we had a strong bromance.”
“Oh please Jaeyunnie, go complain to Heeseung hyung if you must. I'm sure you have no problems using his room, especially after last night,” Sunghoon retorts.
Jay looks between the two glaring boys, clearly missing something, but chooses to not intervene at the moment. Sunghoon seems to have won their weird glaring contest, as Jake huffs, “Whatever, just know that you love birds, have about an hour or so before Jungwonie comes to drag your asses out of bed for practice...” Jake pauses for a moment, “Y’all better be decent by then, Wonie is way too young to be scarred like me!”
“Fuck off Sim Jaeyun,” Jay curses in English while aiming a pillow at Jake. Unfortunately, it misses the Australian as he swiftly closes the door shut behind him.
The two occupants take one look at each other and burst into a fit of laughter. They kept laughing until their stomachs hurt.
Sunghoon slowly slid off Jay to lay beside him. Both boys face one another and it is evident that they were exuding a crazy amount of happiness.
“Well you heard him, we still have an hour before our dear leader barges through that door,” Jay starts, “what do you suggest we do till then?”
Sunghoon giggles at the older’s suggestive eyebrow movements, “I have a few ideas,” he states as he leans forward to kiss Jay.
They both smile through the kiss. What a great way to spend an hour.
