Defendant Lobby No. 2
_______________________________________
It's early morning as a spikey-haired tall drink of a man steps into the courtroom lobby. Lead Attorney, Phoenix Wright has decided to take on his biggest case yet...
Convincing the court that Tom Nook did not commit fraud
As he waits in the lobby, pouring through his files, the door slams open pouring in the bright light of the sun as it perfectly silhouettes the round figure of the middle-aged tanuki, Tom Nook.
"Please," Tom says, looking mournfully up at Phoenix. "I can't go to jail...I have kids! What will Timmy and Tommy do without me?"
A pang of deep, deep empathy went through Phoenix. The few times he'd been on trial after adopting Trucy had always scared him, fearful of what would happen to her. But at least he had the reassurance that Edgeworth would look out for her, and Edgeworth was completely loaded.
"It's alright, Mr. Nook," Phoenix said. "I'm going to clear your name. Just you wait." It would be hard, since he didn't have anyone there to be his co-counsel. But he'd do it all the same.
"If you can, then I'll do anything for you," Nook offered. "You need a new house? New friends? New job? I could get you ANYTHING. Please, just...don't let them put me away, Wright. My kids need me."
"Can you get me a co-counsel?" Phoenix asked, trying not to sound desperate. "I can do it, it would just be a bit easier if someone was up there with me."
"Let me make a call, real quick," Tom said. He pulled out a phone. After a moment of listening to it ring, he said into it, "Isabelle? Can you help an old friend out?"
Not too long later, a small dog raced into the room. "I'm ready, Mr. Nook!" she said, and if a talking tanuki didn't phase Phoenix then a talking dog wouldn't either!
Just then, the judge called for court. A wave of panic fell over Phoenix - they hadn't even discussed strategy yet! But then he remembered, he's been in this situation before and it all worked out okay. He would save Mr. Nook!

Courtroom No. 2

"Well, Nook, what do you have to say for yourself?" the Judge said. It was a different kind of court, one where they were defending him from the state not another person.
Phoenix opened his mouth to talk in place of Nook, but Isabelle beat him to it.
"You can't take away Mr. Nook," she yelled. "He hasn't done anything wrong. He has no interest fees on his loan and no time restraint, he's a good, honest man!"
"Yeah," Phoenix chimes in, although he knew very little of what she was talking about. "What she said."
"This is just like Elle Woods all over again," the judge muttered. "Dammit. I don't want to deal with this just let him go."
"You've done it again, Ms. Mayor!"
