Chapter Text
Walking into the school hallways was always the joyous thing to do especially on a Monday.
Fun.
Your trusty number one friend was at your locker. Guess she was waiting for you. Walking over you spread a wide smile on your face.
"Hey Noelle! Ready for P.E?" The deer had a pair of black joggers and a bright white T-shirt on. Nothing like her usual fit. Your deer friend sighed, twirling her golden hair and pouting.
"No of course not, why is P.E first period? It's way too early." She whines, her pouting becomes more visible. Noelle's such a sweet angel, who'd get annoyed from her complaining? Though she's a pro at cross country! Her and Jockington are the sole faces of our school team!
"Haha, mood." You turn your lock to your combo and click it open. Grabbing your freshly clean grey joggers and white crop top, you shut your locker. Twirling around you speak, "At least you'll see your 'hottie' crush" You accent your pointer and index finger, making her giggle and slightly blush.
"Well, the same goes for you. 'Kris-girl'." She gestures back at you. You lightly push her.
"SH. We don't speak of that! I only said he was cute one time!" You both laugh from your banter. "Anyways, after you cutie." Putting your hands out and slightly bowing, you hide a grin.
"No no, after you." She follows suit. This'll never end. Knowing your guy's friendship goes way back.
--
You collapse on the gym wall and heave a heavy sigh. Of course Susie had to make everyone do Push-ups. She couldn't have listened to the coach the first time. What a Susie thing.
You bend over and grab your water bottle, with a stitch sticker on it, and chug it. Your ears flopped back. Gulping it down too fast, water started trailing down your mouth and chin. Stopping, you wipe your mouth and puff from the lack of air. Looking up, you see the one and only Kris.
"Ah, hey Kris!" Your ears perk up from the encounter. You wonder how long he was standing there.
He's too quiet. Whenever your mom would go over to Kris's house for his mom, Toriel, he'd make it super awkward. I mean, you can deal with quiet people sometimes, because sometimes you want that silence. But when you don't? You were very sweaty.
"Hi." The bed headed boy breathes out, you barely caught what he said.
"What's up?" You ask sheepishly, scratching the back of your head. Oh god, did he see you messily drinking your water? That's so embarrassing! But before Kris could open his mouth, Susie slumps over his shoulder.
"Hey nerd, Kris is my partner." Susie sneers her yellow teeth, making you smell her breath.
"Girl, you needa brush your teeth, for real." You scrunch your nose closed waving your hand to perfect your gesture.
"Ha, you have no place. Little Miss cavity." The crocodile looking lizard Bickers. You scoff at her.
"That was only one time I ate a bowl of candy, get over it." You wave your hand, then place them criss-crossed on your chest. "Crocodile looking ass." You snicker at your little joke.
"Carrot looking ass." Susie retorts, mimicking your snicker. Fake gasping you call for Noelle.
"Noelle help! I'm being bullied!" You dramatically place your hand on your forehead. Making a sad expression, you see Noelle responding to your call.
"Yn what are you- SUSIE! Hey, what are you doing here?" Noelle timidly twiddled her fingers, bashfully blushing.
"I'm bullying someone, wanna help?" She smirks cooly, stabbing the deer in the heart. She stammers on her sure, and starts picking on you too.
"Not Noelle too! Damn you Susie, making my bestest friend go against me like this." You playfully pout. You guys continue to mess around until the coach speaks up and gives directions on what to do.
--
Finally, the last period of the day. Conceptual Physics. You loved this class very much! Not only does Miss. Alphys teach this class, it's also science and you absolutely love science. Science is so easy and it's also the hard truth.
Kids fill up the class and take their seats. The room was loud with kids bustling and rustling, no surprise it's the last class of the day. Poor Alphys.
"Okay guys we're doing another group project, about acceleration and velocity and what comes with it." The little reptile speaks, doing a little hop to get on her chair. She's so short, it's cute. "You guys can start picking your partners as I get the project rules started!" Guess it's time to choose your partner. You get up and exactly know who you're gonna ask. Walking up to the timid deers desk. This time she wore her usual fit, a Christmas looking dress. Similar to yours, but yours was a brown sweater dress. You wiggle your eyebrows.
"Ready to get this project done?"
"Ah, sorry yn. Berdly asked me already." She nervously replied looking over to the blue bird to her right. You follow her direction, eyeing the blue bird. The bird wore men's jeans and a white short sleeved button up. A little nice detail was that the sleeves had two blue stripes on them.
"Bird brain." You glare at the nerd bird, lifting up your chin.
"Celery stick." The bird brain throws, nice counter. You'll let it go just this once. You walk to Monster Kid, hoping he hasn't gotten a partner yet. This was gonna be a man hunt.
--- like 3 minutes later
No luck. Everybody already had a partner.
Also Catti kind of called you hybrid. In a negative way. Your mother was a lavender bunny, your aunt and mom worked at the QC's dinner. You don't know what your dad was or like because he wasn't there when you were born.
You've asked your mom multiple times about him, she would always change the topic or say not now. But at least you know that he had to have been a monster with antlers. You think that he was highly a reindeer, like Noelle, because you were a girl with antlers. And only female reindeers have antlers.
But what's so wrong with being a hybrid? Wouldn't it be looked up upon, not down? Being a hybrid is rare. Ugh stupid Catti, fucking up your mood.
You slouch at your seat, giving up all hope. Guess you're gonna have to solo the project, I mean it shouldn't be that hard. Right? But then right after accepting your defeat, the door clicked open. Turning your head, it was the familiar brown haired boy. He's lucky. coming like, second before the bell rings.
"Ah, Kris! Welcome, we're doing a new group project! We're still picking out partners, so go find one quick" The yellow reptile exclaimed giving the boy her attention. He nods his head in response. Kris doesn't talk that much, you've known this for a while.
Your mother's we're close friends, not really the same for you two. I mean you respect each other. But Kris was a little bully. He would do pranks that'd go too far. Like putting oil on the floor and making you slip or stub your toe. He'd even snag your fluff, and that was your most sensitive and favored part of your body. You shiver remembering that horrified memory.
Asriel was much better. You would be lying if you said you didn't have a tenny tinny crush on him before. I mean, he was good looking, a gentleman, and older than you. And older people were cool to you before. This Town is so small.
"Kris over here!" You waved your hands to get his attention. It worked, because he was dragging over here. You beam. "Let's be partners! Please." You slur the ease from please hoping to convince him. He shakes his head no and quietly speaks.
"Susie." Your ears immediately flop down. Darn. Seems he already has someone in mind. You grumble.
"Aw man, I really need a partner." You sigh, itching your arm. Guess this is it. Soloing a group project. The bell rings, making Kris go to his seat. Which was two desks behind you. And so, the class begins.
"Okay, so who doesn't have a partner here?" The teach questions. You embarrassingly raise your hand. Why is this class uneven? You silently complain.
"Yn, no partner again?" I know, sucks to only have one good friend. I mean, there's Susie but you've recently just started becoming friends. She kinda just, skipped class with Kris one day, supposed to be getting chalk, and next thing you know. They come back the next day best friends, and it's like Susie's a whole other person. It was sketchy.
"You really need a partner for this project, it has twenty four slides, and each of you do twelve." She implies, making you more desperate to find a partner. "Maybe someone can do a group of three and you split it up in six."
You look over to Noelle, her eyes already directed towards you. She takes the hint and raises her hand. "Miss Alphys, me and Berdly can do a group of three with yn!" Noelle asks politely, holding an excited grin. The reptile says okay and jots it down on her clipboard.
"Alright, now let's start!" She stutters out, grabbing chalk on the board and starts writing.
Unbeknownst to you,
A boy in green had his hand rejectingly up.
