The Commander's Lap
If the commander's lap is temporary rest then his bed is eternal rest.
The commander's bed is just as special as his lap. The commander's room is always open for his shipgirls. He knows the girls will need some type of comfort at night and he is not surprised if he wakes up with a girl or two or four in his bed all cuddling next to him.
The same properties that make a shipgirl fall asleep in his lap applies similarly, however it adds on an extra bonus as that comfort helps a shipgirl with any nightmares they might be having.
The shipgirls might have a regular nightmare like being stuck in a locked house or a creepy graveyard. However they might have nightmares where they watched friends die from attacks or feel guilty for accidentally ramming or sinking allies. Others have nightmares watching friend and foe disappear into a bright light.
Yet being in his arms or laying on his chest those nightmares change into peaceful dreams. Where all five senses are overwhelmed the commander is brought into their dreams and they're no longer afraid.
Others will come to the commander's room because they're either cold or because of thunderstorms and lightning.
Sometimes a shipgirl might wake up the commander when entering the room. This will wake him up and he will turn on his lamp and smile at the shipgirl in question and ask if they want to cuddle.
They'll join him immediately with pajamas on or for some others fully strip down to nothing and cuddle with.
For others some cuddle with the commander because they want to or because they feel guilty about something. For feeling guilty it's mostly survivor's guilt where they ask the commander why get to live while others either sunk or were scrapped. No matter the guilt that eats away at them, they know the commander will never judge them as he sees them as women. Friends, comrades, lovers.
When morning comes the shipgirl in general will blush or tease the commander, but will always cuddle next to him enjoying the 5 minutes of peaceful bliss, where they can cast away that they're weapons of war temporarily and be a regular woman in the arms of the man they love.
