Summary:

To spend the night, entombed in the light of the moon and the candles. It's the only wish I could ever hope for. I love you so much, my dear Nathalie.

Work Text:

Everything was perfect.

Nathalie could only stare in awe as he presented her with a beautiful sight in the dining hall. There were dishes of filet mignon, roasted duck, and even a cake amidst it all. He ushered her to her chair, and popped open a bottle of a vintage red wine, admiring everything he presented for her.

He smiled. She was perfect. The burgundy dress highlighted her legs and hugged her figure excellently. He had her measurements memorized. The deep red dress complimented her vibrant, rebellious streak in her hair, cascading down her back. There was even a rosy tinge to her face. All he could do was smile.

The candlelight flickered and danced, creating brilliant shadows of the two lone occupants. It matched with the beautiful midnight colored suit he wore to the event they attended before returning home. Adrien was with his friend spending a night, and while Gabriel wouldn’t normally do that, tonight was special. It was their anniversary.

Nothing should interrupt it, and the boy was happy he could spend time with his friends.

“Everything is stunning, Gabriel…”

“I only allow the best for my beloved.”

She couldn’t help but smile. He sat beside her, and they ate, savoring the taste of the food and the crispness of the wine. Moonlight and candlelight mingled in a glimmering effervescence against the normally dismal and depressing walls. Now, it was just charming how the shadows danced against the furniture, beautiful even.

“My Nathalie.”

He took her hand in his. But she pressed her finger to his lips. He recognized the look in her eyes, innocent, and yet oh, so devilish all rolled into one beautifully masked expression of bliss and neutrality. His own face reddened.

But she said nothing and pulled his lips to hers. The light made their shadows mold into one single silhouette as the time slowed itself, only for that moment. The world was theirs. His lovely Mayura, and her handsome Hawkmoth. Then she pulled away, and wrapped her arms around him in an embrace. All he could do was smile, and do the very same.

“I love you.”

“I love you too, Gabriel.”

Nothing could end this. For this night was perfect.
