Work Text:
“Absolute not,” Touka says before Kaneki can even get a word out.
“I didn’t even say anything!”
Touka shoots him a look. But I know you well. “You want us to wear this for Halloween.” Touka says. Kaneki has the audacity to look sheepish.
“Yes,” He says. “That was what I was going to say but at least hear me out before you shoot the idea down.” Alright. “It’s cute!” What?
“Cute.” Touka repeats, with a flat voice, disbelieving. Kaneki stares at her. “Don’t give me that look, it’s not going to work. That —“ Touka points at the offending thing. “Is ridiculous, not cute. Get it right.”
Kaneki continues to stare at her with pleading eyes.
Touka won’t admit it, but she find herself wavering. Damn it. Kaneki must catch it anyways, as he steps closer and says, “Come on,” with his hand travelling along her side in a distracting manner.
Touka bats it. Kaneki gives her kiss, instead. She can’t help but let it distract it. It’s soft and warm and she’s hopeless against his kisses. Urgh. “This doesn’t mean anything.” Touka tells himself, in between the thirtieth or so kiss, sounding breathless.
Kaneki simply smiles at her.
It’s not a good smile. It’s a smile that says he knows he’s won.
He hasn’t.
Touka is not going to wear That Thing to Halloween. She isn’t.
“What the hell are you two wearing?”
“Shut up, Nishiki.” Touka grumbles. “Why don’t you look at what you’re wearing first.”
“I think they look cute!” Hide chirps, but he’s definitely messing with her. Cute? What apart of cute is this!
Kaneki is beaming, next to her, though. So she lets it go. She is really is going soft.
(Next year, it’ll be her turn to choose the outfits. She’ll get back at him then. So it’s okay.)
