Chapter Text
From his spot near the top of the tiered dueling arena, Chazz could see everything.
Given the amount of students enrolled in the same class- it was a gen ed, so everyone had to have it and it was always full up- the stage had been divided up into quite a few sections, and duels are happening on every one of them, all at once. He chuckles to himself as his eyes flicker across Syrus Truesdale's duel, but he quickly finds the practical examinee he was looking for: [Name]. Her hair, always looking so soft, making him want to tangle his hands in it; the way her uniform clung to her in all the right ways; the way she seemed to absolutely glow while dueling, fueled by passion alone. She's one of the best duelists in the school; it's only natural that they were totally made for each other. He just has to talk to her somehow.
He frowns. Sure, he can see her duel well from here, but he can't hear what's going on. He stands up and makes his way around the edge of the seating area until he's within earshot.
"-and then I activate Compulsory Evacuation Device, launching that Gellenduo back into your hand! And now," [Name] swipes her hand to the side in a dramatic gesture, "my Chaos Necromancer attacks directly for the game!" The exam proctor lets out a frustrated grunt as his life points drop to zero. [Name] grins to herself, and Chazz smiles too.
After [Name] and the proctor have shaken hands and shut off their duel disks, Chazz leans over the wall separating the stacked seats from the dueling stage. He waves one hand to get her attention. "Hey, [Name]!" She looks up at him, and he leans on the barrier, resting his chin in his hands. "You didn't do too badly on that one, [Name], but there were a few things you could've done better- ah, y'know, I could totally teach y-"
"Heyyyyy, [Name]!" Another voice calls out to the girl, completely disregarding Chazz, and [Name] turns to face another girl racing towards her.
"Since we both passed, I think we totally deserve some ice cream!" The girl grabs [Name] by the arm and starts pulling her away. [Name] turns back to Chazz and smiles sheepishly.
"Sorry! I'll have to talk to you later, Chazz!" And then she was gone.
Chazz sighs heavily, dropping into an unoccupied seat and kicking his legs up. He tosses his head back and gazes up at the bright arena lights. He's been watching her from afar for awhile- of course something would happen the one time he tried to set something up with her-
But then a smile twitches its way onto his face. The way she said his name was super cute. He bites his lip, lowering his head so that nobody sees him blushing like a lovestruck puppy.
He'll totally try again later.
