Chapter Text
Tsukishima kept his expression cold as he watches the familiar black haired man on the corner, struggling to answer whatever paper he has on his hand.
Taking a break from practice, luckily even the ever so diligent duo, Kageyama and Hinata, agreed so here they are. At the library, studying.
Though on Tsukishima's part, he doesn't even need to study there. He can study on his own. But maybe the view a few meters away from him convinced him to join their study session.
"You're staring too much Tsukki."
Yamaguchi stops his smirk as he watches his best friend stole another not so secret glance to Kageyama's direction. The setter doesn't even try to notice his surroundings, he's too busy familiarizing himself with the current problem in front of him.
"Why don't you try to help him? Kageyama looks like he's about to explode."
Tsukishima took the chance to stare at Kageyama, pretending to check the man even if he never really left his sight.
"He can do it on his own."
Yamaguchi shook his head.
"I'll go and teach Hinata too... You know Yachi has some errands to finish first."
Yamaguchi looks at the other corner. The duo seemed to realize that they can't finish anything if they are together so they're sitting far away from each other.
"Then you go to Kageyama."
Yamaguchi grabs his things and happily sat beside Hinata. Not even bothering on giving Tsukishima another glance and pretended that he didn't even talked to him at all.
Tsukishima sometimes thinks why is he even friends with the man.
But then he diverted his eyes to Kageyama again. He stops the smile that is about to appear on his lips as he watched Kageyama ruffle his hair in frustration.
'I guess I really should assist you Your Highness.'
He was about to stand up when someone suddenly appeared in front of Kageyama. Tsukishima furrowed his eyebrows and watched the scene unfold in front of him.
"So uhh... K-Kageyama."
Kageyama looked up at the mention of his name.
"Yes?"
The guy flushed red and shook his head aggressively.
"N-Nevermind!!!"
Kageyama tilted his head and looked at the guy in front of him.
"Is there anything I can do for you?"
Tsukishima almost rolled his eyes and stood up.
"I just w-want to ask if.... Can I....."
"Hey King."
Kageyama turned to Tsukishima. The taller looked at him boredly.
"How many times do I need to tell you don't call me that?"
Tsukishima walked passed the guy in front of the table and sat beside Kageyama, grabbing the corner of his seat.
"What are you doing?"
Kageyama looked at him then on the papers in front of him. He ruffled his hair again.
"This damn problem is stressing the hell out of me."
Tsukishima kept his poker face and leaned closer to Kageyama.
"It's easy. Not used on solving problems lower th—"
"If you're here to insult me then just leave."
Kageyama pushed him away but Tsukishima just moved closer again, ignoring his fast heartbeat and the warmth of his left chest where Kageyama held him.
"Listen to me and make sure to understand it well."
Tsukishima grabbed his pen and started to write on the piece on paper. His left hand is still on Kageyama's chair, as if it's hunting something. He took a glance at the guy in front of them.
Seeing the glance— that is undeniably a glare— the guy just gulped and walked away without a word. Kageyama doesn't seem to notice him anymore as he focuses on Tsukishima's writing.
"I just don't get how you can't get this but you can get everything in volleyball."
Kageyama rolled his eyes.
"They're different. I love volleyball. And will you stop changing the topic and just explain things to me?"
"I wonder how does a King like you define love then."
Tsukishima knew he spoke it out loud. But Kageyama doesn't seem to hear. Or so he just convinces himself. Because with their closeness, Tsukishima can see the very faint blush on his cheeks.
Tsukishima can feel his heart race again. He really doesn't regret coming to the study session.

"Just when will he even realize?"
Yamaguchi rests his chin on his hands, watching Tsukishima teach Kageyama way too intently that he had ever seen.
"And when will Tsukishima move away? I can't really see Kageyama."
Hinata commented as he tries to peep beside Yamaguchi.
"Hinata. You need to finish yours."
"I'm already done! It's not like my tutor is taking his sweet time on explaining things to me."
Yamaguchi can feel a light bulb on his head.
"Say Hinata.... Do you want to walk home with me?"
Hinata turned to Yamaguchi then peeped on Kageyama and Tsukishima (technically just Tsukishima's back).
"Yeah sure."
The two hurriedly fixed their things and walked passed the two.
"We're heading home now."
Kageyama looked at them.
"Oi boke. Didn't you say that we'll go home together?"
Hinata shook his head and smiled.
"I have plans! And besides—"
"You don't seem to be finished yet."
Yamaguchi finished the sentence for him, looking at Tsukishima.
"Whatever. Let's finish this then."
Kageyama turned to look at the paper again, determined to finish the last 2 problems. Tsukishima nodded to the two and looked back at the person beside him.
"If you have any plans. I can already manage this. I think I got it."
Kageyama spoke without looking at him directly. Tsukishima leaned away but still kept his eyes on Kageyama.
"Stop talking and just finish it already so that we can go home."
"I said—"
Tsukishima placed his finger on his lips. Kageyama glared at him.
"Just finish it. End of discussion."
Kageyama rolled his eyes but proceeded to write again. Tsukishima gulped as he mentally panicked with the thing that he just did.
He shook his head and just looked at Kageyama. He took the moment to stare at him again.
'His hair looks so soft...'
'I want to flatten those eyebrows... He's been furrowing them since we started.'
Before Tsukishima would even know it, his eyes fell on Kageyama's lips.
'Did he even realized that he's pouting?'
Then Tsukishima let's himself gets lost with his thoughts. Somehow he can still feel Kageyama's lips on his finger.
'They're soft... I wanted to have a....'
He stops himself as his heart starts to race again. But Tsukishima doesn't find it bothersome. In fact, with Kageyama in front of him right now, he felt calm.

Tsukishima is never fond of making the first move with conversations. But with his long time love beside him, his mouth suddenly itched to talk and just talk.
"Oh I just remembered."
"What?"
He replied quicker than he expected. Kageyama doesn't seem to notice it.
"Before you sat beside me a while ago... I was talking to someone... But he just disappeared?"
Tsukishima almost rolled his eyes.
"I don't know. Seriously you're going to talk about that?"
"Then what do you want to talk about?"
"Maybe try to thank me for teaching you Your Highness."
Kageyama glared at him again.
"I didn't even told you to come and teach me though?"
"Shouldn't you just feel thankful instead of getting angry at me?"
"And also stop calling me that!"
Tsukishima stopped and so does Kageyama. He can't help but to smirk as he looked at him.
"What do you want me to call you then King?"
"I said stop calling me King! Damn it!!!"
Kageyama pushed him and walked away. Now Tsukishima let his smirk turn into a smile as he watches Kageyama's figure disappear.
He clutched his chest.
"Of course you deserve to be called like that. After all, you're really the King... You're ruling my heart..."
