Lan Wang ji and Wei Ying finally return to Gusu and it is only after finishing their dinner when it first occurred to Wei Ying that he has been resting here with Lan Zahn all day and never got a look of his own room.
‘ Lan Zahn , I don’t think I asked for a place to sleep. What about my old place from our college days ? ‘
Lan Zahn brings out a jar of emperor smile instead and two cups to go with.
‘ Lan Zahn … are you trying to get drunk now ? ‘

‘ Arrey arrey mighty Hanguang Jun!? What will the kids say ?’ Wei Ying tilts his head ,smiles and softly says ‘ Don’t worry I won’t tell ‘
Lan Wangji uses his magic to lock the door .
Wei Wuxian laughs nervously ‘ very well , very well ‘ and Lan Zahn fills both the cups
Lan Zahn holds his alcohol and don’t fall asleep this time
‘ Aa… Lan Zahn , I am proud of you ‘
Lan Zahn looks down , his ears turning red .
‘ Arrey Lan Zahn … ‘ he tilts his face to look at Lan Wang ji ‘ asleep again ? ‘
But Lan Zahn isn’t and quickly unties his head ribbon and holds it out towards Wei Ying ‘Hmm!’ hinting Wei to hold it.
Confused and now aware of the rules of Cloud Recesses, Wei Ying laughs nervously and stands up to avoid the eyes of Lan Wangji who is still standing with stretched hands towards the empty space where there was Wei Ying a moment before. Lan Zahn looks miserably at Wei Ying which Wei avoids and roams around the room to find a distraction ‘ Seems like I need to teach you the house rules again ‘ He laughs trying to turn the air around the room a little lighter ‘ Do not go out at night ‘ he says approaching the shelf ‘ Do not drink inside ‘ he looks for the rule book ‘ Headband is only to be removed … ‘
‘ By the fated someone ‘ Lan Wangji completes and Wei Ying brings out a rule book hidden far inside Hanguang Jun’s shelf . He gets up in an instant and approaches Wei Ying to get hold of the book.
Wei doesn’t lose his hold and runs on the other corner away from Wangji ‘ Do not act impulsively ‘ Wei says in a softer tone finding Lan Wangji standing right in front of him , the hand that is now standing stretched in front of Wei does not have the headband but is silently asking for the book ‘ Be easy on others ‘ Lan Wang ji replies
‘Learning comes first ‘ Wei says and immediately moves to the other corner and flips the pages of the rule book ‘ Steer away from bad men, reject the crooked road , do not be wasteful ‘
‘ Love… and respect yourself ‘ Lan Zahn slowly walks towards Wei ying ‘ Honour good people , Love all beings ‘
Wei Ying looks down this time to avoid Lan Zahn’s stare , and flips the pages of the book briskly and before he could settle his eyes properly on any page , Lan Zahn brings his sword out and gently places the edge of it on Wei’s neck ‘ Do not kill within Cloud Recesses ‘ Wei smiles and looks at Lan Zahn properly, for the first time.
‘ Do not Laugh for no reason ‘ Lan Zahn aggressively tries to get hold of the book.
Wei Ying doesn’t let go of the book and gently puts down Lan Zahn’s sword ‘ Do not fight without permission ‘ and Lan Zahn turns around and walks back towards the headband which is lying abandonedly on the floor , he sighs and gets down to pick it up and wraps it around his head again . He opens the door .
Wei Ying, who was watching Lan Zahn go away , looks at the opened doors and looks down on his feet feeling sad.
‘ You can take your room ‘ Wangji says , still facing the back.
Wei Ying smiles softly and pretends to flip the pages of the book ‘ Do not hold grudges ‘
‘ Do not make a noise ‘ Wangji replies
Wei Ying doesn’t … for a long time … and when he does it wasn’t a word but a laugh and Wangji doesn’t turn back to find the reason - he knows exactly what had caused it.
‘ Arrey Arrey Hanguang Jun hiding erotic art in his bed room !!? ‘ and he laughs and keeps on flipping the pages and suddenly the laughter stops . Lan Zahn doesn’t look back to see why because he knows that too.
Hidden inside the pages was the sketch Wei Wuxian had given Lan Zahn from another lifetime stained by the color - soaked from the lotus petal that has aged as well. Wei Ying keeps the book back to the shelf. ‘ Lan Zahn…. ‘ He starts but can’t finish because of the silencing spell that Lan Zahn had put on him . Wei Ying does not struggle this time. He instead walks towards Lan Zahn and stops . Lan Zahn steadies himself , still facing the back not releasing the silencing spell. ‘ Go to your room now ‘ he manages.
Wei Ying steadies his breath and gently unties the ribbon from Lan Zahn’s forehead . Wangji stops breathing and Wei smiles and turns Lan Zahn around. He realizes that the silencing spell was lifted ‘ Do not be overly happy ‘ Wei winks.
Wangji relaxes ‘ Do not break promises ‘
‘ Take the straight path ‘ Wei tells it to himself
