Chapter 1: The Cabin

Lola was the one who suggested it, a skiing trip in the mountains for the weekend and staying in a cosy cabin. She was able to convince a few to go along with it, Bugs, Daffy and Roadie who of course dragged Wile along with him. The trip there went fairly well as the money they earned from working for Warner Brothers let them hire a private jet, up high in the sky the five relaxed looking forward to their trip although they all had vastly different experiences in the sport. Bugs was munching on some of the snacks they had brought on board, he was still having trouble getting over seeing his friends die in a separate timeline as he still had to remind himself daily that they were fine and the invasion never happened. On the other side of the table sat Wile, being the only other who had any memories of the alternate timeline had taken a toll on him as well, for many nights he had been suffering from recurring nightmares. Beside Wile sat Roadie who was blissfully unaware and contently digging in to a bowl of bird seed, the two had been dating for a few weeks now and as confused as he was at the sudden change of heart he wasn't complaining. Lola looked down at the snowy mountains below, there were a few skiers using the slope, behind the trees the occasional yeti watching silently. She smiled as she felt the jet start it's decent and soon enough they were on the ground.
Once down they had all dressed themselves in the appropriate clothing to suit the temperature of a chilling minus five. Upon leaving the jet the cold hit them right away.
"It's freezing! why did I agree to this?" Daffy complained, rubbing his arms and shivering.
Bugs smirked, walking over beside him.
"Eh it ain't that bad Daf, look guess what I am" Bugs breathed outwards, emitting a large misty cloud.
Daffy raised an eyebrow. "A pain in the ass?" He asked.
Bugs laughed at the response, he turned to Wile who also looked frozen, giving him a look that said he wanted an answer.
"An annoyance?" Wile asked.
Bugs laughed again. "No I'm a dragon"
He breathed out again accompanying it with a snarl doing his best dragon impression, Daffy disagreed, telling him how he could make a more convincing dragon. Wile slowly blinked at the rabbit and duck making dragon impressions at each other wondering why he agreed to go on this trip, he felt Roadie leaning against him and he remembered, he wrapped an arm around him, giving them some shared warmth. Lola exited the jet and jumped down the stairs.
"I found the key!" She exclaimed earning a tired cheer from the group.
Lola unlocked the door and they made their way inside, they were instantly enveloped by a smell of wood, the living area contained a fireplace with two couches, there was a coffee table, a TV and most importantly, central heating. Daffy let out a satisfied sigh and flopped down on the couch.
"Comfy?" Lola asked.
"Very" Daffy replied.
Bugs smiled, picking up Daffy's suitcase along with his own and took it to their room. Inside sat two beds separated by a small table with a lamp, high ceilings and windows covered by the build up of snow. During the booking he had an option to room alone but he turned it down as he had gotten into the habit of waking up in the middle of the night to check if his friends were still there. He had gotten caught a few times and just used the excuse that he had a bad dream, he wasn't sure if he could ever explain the real reason.
Through in the cabins kitchen Wile and Roadie were taking a look through the cupboards, the cabin was fully equipped with dishes, food and drink, there was enough there to feed them for a few months. It was good to know they wouldn't starve if they happen to get snowed in.
"Would you like to take a look at our room?" Wile asked.
Roadie nodded happily, the two walked hand in hand to their room, upon entering they were greeted by a dim cosy room with bricked walls, dim lamps and an inviting bed covered in blankets and pillows to keep them warm. Roadie let go of Wile's hand and sat down on the bed, sinking right in, Wile smiled at him before joining, he wrapped an arm around him and the two leaned against each other, eyes closed enjoying the moment. They heard yelling from a few rooms down, the moment was ruined.
Daffy was currently screaming into a pillow, he Bugs and Lola were playing a game of Uno they found in a bag and Daffy had been so close for he had only one card left but then both Bugs and Lola placed down plus twos causing him to have to pick up four more cards and now he was losing, he slammed down a card.
"I hate everyone in this room" Daffy grumbled.
"Ey Daf I think you're getting a little bit worked up" Said Bugs, the pitch of his voice going up on the 'little'
Daffy replied with a glare, hearing Lola trying to keep in a laugh before seeing her put down a block card, skipping his turn. Daffy said nothing but something in his face said he wanted to kill everyone in a ten mile radius.
"What on Earth is all the yelling about?"
Everyone looked up to see Wile and Roadie standing watching them, a similar expression of both confusion and concern on their faces.
Lola smiled at them. "We're playing Uno! you guys should join"
Daffy snapped out of his serial killer looking expression realizing that if they joined then they would start over and there's a chance he could win. Wile merely rolled his eyes, there was no way he was going to play a game with these simpletons, not because he was afraid to lose but because he knew he would win. Roadie walked over and joined them on the floor smiling up at Wile, okay there was one way, Wile definitely had a soft spot for him and he knew it, Wile sighed and reluctantly joined them.
Daffy was once again losing and he was not happy about it, he was once again so close before Wile had placed down a seven and they swapped hands and now he had six and none of them were useful, he tapped his finger on the floor in frustration, Bugs placed down a wild changing the colour to green, it was Wile's turn next, he smirked like an anime villain.
"Roadie, love of my life, I hope you know that our relationship will in no way weaken my competitiveness" He said calmly as he placed down an Uno reverse card and as Roadie had no other cards in green he was forced to pick up more.
They weren't sure how much time had passed, it may had been hours, days, weeks or even years. It was dark outside and there were cards all over the floor, after all that had happened Roadie had been the winner and he sat upon his throne that they decided was his prize. Daffy lay on the floor being the loser, Bugs was piling cards on top of him. Lola used the cards on the floor to her advantage, sliding across the on them she presented a DVD she had found, some sort of generic horror movie with a killer in a mask and a group of people looking scared.
"You guys wanna watch a scary movie?" She asked adding a spooky tone to her voice.
Daffy sat up causing the pile of cards to slide off of him and onto the floor.
"Getting to watch people suffer while I get to be fine? yes!"
Daffy regretted his decision soon as for most of the movie both he and Lola had attached themselves to each of Bug's arms who had accepted that this was his life now. Roadie was sat of Wile's lap having no fear and casually eating popcorn while the coyote had his arms wrapped around him, his eyes glued to the screen occasionally reaching into the bowl.
"Hey Roadie" Bugs whispered. "Pass the popcorn"
Without taking his eyes off the screen the Roadrunner handed Bugs the bowl who had to use an ear to scoop some out before thanking him quietly.
"No! don't go in there you idiot!" Daffy screamed.
It was no use as the last survivor of the movie went to investigate the mysterious noise, lightning flashed from the outside giving them a view of the masked killer standing behind them with the knife along with a loud noise completing the jumpscare, the killer stabbed them through the head, both Daffy and Lola screamed tightening their grip on Bug's arms.
"Y'know if I wasn't a cartoon character my arms might actually be broken right now" He said comically.
The killer looked into the camera and the movie cut to credits accompanied by some edgy rock music.
"Wait what!? they can't end it like that! the killer won!" Daffy complained, finally letting go.
"Yeah that happens a lot" Bugs replied, moving his arm to get the feeling back.
"Wow that was a really good movie" Said Lola. "Welp we should probably go to bed now"
Daffy quickly stood up looking at her like she was crazy.
"We can't go to bed! what if the killer comes after us?" He asked in a panic.
Wile rolled his eyes, Daffy had definitely gotten way too into the movie.
"Easy" He started, listing off on his fingers. "Don't investigate strange sounds alone, don't stay to check if the killer is dead, don't split up and use something to defend yourself"
The two stared at each other for a moment before Daffy tsk'd and folded his arms.
"I don't need you to tell me that" He replied.
The group all went to their rooms, getting ready for bed. Once she had put on her fuzzy pyjamas Lola jumped onto her double bed and spread out covered in pillows and blankets feeling cosy. Across the hall Wile had finished getting ready and entered his room expecting to see Roadie there but instead the room appeared to be empty, just as he was about to panic he felt something hit him in the back of the head.
"Surprise!" Spoke a cheery voice.
Wile turned around and saw Roadie standing there holding a pillow with a mischievous grin, grinning back he acquired a pillow.
"Are you challenging me?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"I might be" Roadie answered mirroring his expression.
The two engaged in a pillow fight laughing like children. Through the wall Daffy stopped what he was doing and listened.
"What the heck are those two doing?" He asked.
Bugs shrugged. "Couple stuff?"
So far Wile had been hitting Roadie weakly but he knew what he was doing, suddenly using the full range of his strength he was able to hit the pillow out of his hands, smiling as he saw the surprise on the birds face he dropped his pillow on the floor and pushed Roadie onto the bed.
"I win"
Roadie smiled, leaning up and kissing him.
"You sure did"
The two moved under the covers and turned off the lamps, moving into an embrace.
"I love you" Wile whispered.
"I love you too" Roadie replied.
A few hours later Daffy suddenly awoke to a strange sound coming from the kitchen, he quickly sat up and got out of bed, remembering what Wile said about investigating strange sounds alone he shook Bugs awake.
"Hm? what is it?" Bugs yawned.
"I heard a noise" Daffy spoke in a hushed tone.
There was another noise, Bugs's eyes opened fully, quickly he got up and grabbed a broom. The two carefully crept down the dark hallway towards the source of the noise, Daffy kept behind Bugs and gulped nervously. The two peered into the kitchen unable to see, Daffy grabbed a nearby torch and turned it on, immediately they saw a face directly in front of them, The two screamed grabbing onto each other, the face screamed also, it was then they realised it was just Lola.
"Why are we screaming?" She asked.
Daffy let go of Bugs and pointed at her.
"You are terrifying!" He turned to Bugs. "Tell her she's terrifying!!"
Bugs held back a laugh, truthfully he was finding the situation highly amusing.
"Big spooky vibes"
Lola smiled. "Aww thanks"
"It's not a compliment!" Bugs shut Daffy's beak preventing him from yelling anymore.
"Shh keep it down you'll wake Wile he get's real crabby"
Right on cue Wile stood behind them with his arms crossed glaring, clearly not pleased at being abruptly woken.
"Can you keep it down please?" He said in a passive aggressive tone.
Bugs looked at Daffy and gestured to Wile showing him what he did. In the dark Roadie had silently sleepwalked out of his bed, standing behind Wile out of sight he let out a loud "Beep Beep" causing Wile to jump up into the ceiling. Roadie stood there asleep looking his he was reaching for something as the three awake looked up at Wile unamused.
"Wow you still do that?" Said Daffy.
"Shut up" Wile sighed.
Chapter 2: The Cave

The next day the group sat upon the ski lift, either skis or snowboards attached to their feet, it was another chilly day as expected for the area. Lola pulled down her goggles so they sat over her eyes, she wore a confident smirk.
"Hope you guys are ready for me to beat you" She taunted.
Daffy rolled his eyes, he had already lost their card game last night and he was determined that today he would win.
"In your dreams" He replied, getting into position so that he could jump off quickly once they had gotten to the top.
Bugs smiled at them just happy to have the two people he was closest with here with them. The ski lift finally reached the top of the mountain.
"Last one to the bottom is a rotten egg!" Lola yelled as she jumped off followed by everyone else.
Lola held the first position for a good few moments before being overtaken by Roadie, he may have been more at home running rather than snowboarding but that didn't mean he wouldn't be good at it, Wile was coming up fast, it was apparent that he was enjoying himself. Roadie had noticed and shot him a wink flustering him and disrupting his concentration, causing him to fall behind. Lola noticed the exchange and laughed, not noticing that she was almost overtaken by Bugs. Far far behind Daffy was making his way down in a very bad mood, not noticing the rock sticking out of the snow he tripped and rolled down the hill becoming a large snowball that flew off a ramp and passed over the others, rolling off course they all followed him until they reached a flat area, the snow that had taken over Daffy dispersed to the ground covering the thin ice he had fallen on. Daffy stood up stumbling a little from feeling dizzy he saw the others stopping in front of him thinking he had won.
"Hahaha I win! my win! you are all beneath me!" He yelled happily.
"Daf we're not done yet you went a bit off course" Said Bugs.
Daffy psht'd at him.
"You're just jealous I won and you didn't"
Suddenly beneath them they heard a loud crack which is when it clicked, they were standing over thin ice, everyone stopped moving and it went quiet.
"Ok fine you win you don't have to-" Daffy started but was unable to finish due to the ice cracking again.
Lola reached out a hand in a 'stop' motion, telling him to stop moving which he did. Once again it was quiet.
Bugs gulped. "Uh hey Wile you're the smart one, what do we do?" He asked nervously.
Everyone looked at Wile waiting for a response, as he went to speak the ice finally broke and they all fell down into darkness instead of water like they'd expected. They fell down further and further, it got to the point where it was so dark that they could no longer see each other and had to go by the screaming to guess where they each were. After what felt like forever their fall was broken by a cold body of water, the group swam up and took in a deep breath, a light from above somewhat illuminated the room so they could see a surface which they swam to, crawling out and coughing.
"Finally!" Daffy said between coughs.
Bugs looked up at the hole in the ceiling they had fallen through.
"Good thing I'm a cartoon character or my legs might be broken right now"
After climbing out of the water Wile located where Roadie was and pulled him out, feeling him shivering from the cold he held him close.
"Are you alright" He asked.
Roadie gave him a thumbs up with a weak smile. Daffy rubbed his arms trying to get warm when he noticed Bugs and Lola whose eyes were locked on the ceiling.
"I'm fine too, thanks for your concern" He said sarcastically.
Instead of replying Bugs instead put his hand under Daffy's bill and tilted his head upwards so he too was looking at the ceiling an he saw what caught their interest, it was covered in glow in the dark drawings of them as well as the other Tunes who weren't with them, they had no idea what to make of it.
"Is that us?" Lola asked after a long pause.
Bugs chuckled awkwardly, the situation was certainly a little unnerving.
"Looks like we've got some fans down here huh?"
Suddenly all around them they heard whispers, they quickly grouped together and backed into a wall, the faint light in the room let them see each other but they couldn't make out any others in the room, Wile had moved Roadie who seemed completely calm behind him in a protective way.
"This is the part of the movie where the dinosaurs show up" Daffy whispered to Bugs who was stood next to him.
"Dinosaurs don't talk Daf"
"How would you know? you ever met a dinosaur?"
Lola elbowed Bugs. "Not the time"
Suddenly the entire room lit up and they saw that they were surrounded by strange looking rock like creatures that varied in height from being slightly taller than them to only reaching their knees, they didn't know how to react as they weren't sure whether these creatures were hostile or peaceful.
"It's them" One of the rock creatures called out before they all bowed down as if they were Gods.
"I didn't see that coming" Said Bugs.
Before they knew it they were taken through the cave to what appeared to be an entire underground city, every rock creature they passed by stared in wonder. They were led up to a set of five thrones to which they were to sit, Bugs of course got to sit in the middle throne which was elevated slightly more than the rest Daffy and Roadie sat on one side whilst Lola and Wile sat on the other, after they sat down the rock creatures continued staring in wonder as others placed flower garlands around their necks. A projector was switched on which played clips from various shorts they had starred in.
"I don't know what's happening but I'm not complaining" Said Daffy, looking like he was having the time of his life.
A clip played from a short that starred Bugs and Wile, the group watched as the part where Bugs grabbed Wile and kissed him played, Bugs laughed.
"Hey remember when I kissed all three of you?" He asked.
Daffy and Wile cringed at the memories whilst Lola laughed along.
"Hey Roadie you're next" Said Bugs.
The group all laughed together.
"No he freaking isn't?" Said Wile, his tone suggested he was joking but the look in his eye said he was serious.
Before it could escalate a group of rock creatures approached bearing gifts, the first one handed Bugs a bouquet made up of carrots instead of flowers which he gladly accepted. Beside him he heard Daffy screaming in joy, looking over he saw him holding a case of money that they explained had fallen down many years ago and was no use to them. He looked at Lola who was holding a basketball, she smiled at him.
"They know me so well" She said happily.
The two shared a small laugh before another rock creature approached with a larger present which was covered up, they placed it in front of Wile.
"For you Wile E. Coyote, we know how much you want to eat the Road Runner" The explained, causing the rest of the tunes to begin cringing, they knew where it was going.
The rock creature uncovered the gift revealing a Road Runner statue. "So we made you this life sized edible replica!"
Wile visibly tensed up as the rest of the rock creatures cheered him on to eat it, the rest of the tunes watched wondering what he was going to do, the two hadn't exactly gone public with their relationship yet so they knew he wasn't going to tell them about it. Wile took out a sign which read 'I already ate' and gave them a forced smile that practically said uncomfortable. The rock creatures stopped cheering and exchanged confused glances.
"Well this is awkward" Laughed Daffy as he counted his new case money.
The rock creature retained their composure and went back to smiling.
"Well let's move on to the performance we came up with to express how much we love you all"
The lights dimmed and the curtains drew as some rock creatures dressed as the tunes re-enacted various shorts. Everyone laughed along except Wile who sighed in annoyance, he leaned over to Lola who was sat next to him.
"I don't know about you but I don't trust these subterraneans one bit" He said bitterly.
"Is it because of your gift?" Lola asked not taking her eyes off the performance.
"Among other things"
Lola looked at him with a sympathetic smile.
"Wile, everything they know about you comes from what they've seen, they don't know how different your relationship with Roadie is than how it appears on screen" She spoke in a soft tone before looking back at the stage.
Wile raised an eyebrow unamused. "I am not convinced"
"She's right" Said Bugs as he munched on one of the carrots from the bouquet. "Besides look how well they know you"
Wile looked at the stage to see the rock creatures re-enacting one of his shorts, the one portraying Wile blew himself up with a not even convincing explosion and then the one portraying Roadie did his signature beep beep before running off stage slowly due to being a rock. Wile glanced over at Roadie who was watching with a smile whilst holding the bird seed they had given him. The next scene had a rock Lola playing basketball with a ball that was so obviously on a string so that they could get it to go in the hoop. Lola stood up.
"Yeah go me!" She cheered.
At the end of the performance the actors all bowed to an applauding audience. The tunes clapped also.
"Good job guys!" Bugs said happily.
"I liked the bits where I was there" Daffy added.
A few rock creatures whispered amongst each other before one walked up to Roadie.
"Road Runner! please show us how fast you can go, we would love to see it!" They pleaded.
Others watching agreed, so Roadie stood up and ran around, dodging everything perfectly, the rock creatures cheered, he stopped quickly to wink at Wile before continuing. The tunes noticing all looked at Wile, seeing that his face had turned a shade of red they gave him a chorus of awws as he tried to ignore them. Once Roadie had stopped they all applauded him and giving him many compliments.
Some time later they were being led somewhere else by a few of the creatures.
"Friends you must all be tired after that fall, we have made rooms for each of you, we hope they are to your liking" One of them explained.
"Oooh we get rooms now? I love this place!" Daffy exclaimed.
The rock creatures grinned at him before they stopped at a door.
"Lola Bunny, this one is for you"
Lola slowly opened the door and looked around it was spacious and full of sports gear.
"I love this thank you!" She smiled.
The rock creatures nodded at her and continued walking, leaving her there, they soon stopped in front of another door.
"Wile E. Coyote this one is yours"
Wile cautiously opened the door and stepped inside, the room was quite fancy, there was a stack of fake explosives on one side and tools on another, it was obvious it was designed after how he acted in the shorts. Seeing that the group had left to take the others to their rooms he took the garland of flowers off and left it on a chair. Now was his chance to investigate to prove he was right, first he tried the bookshelf but found nothing out of place, next he searched for hidden cameras but found none of them either, nothing odd about the fake TNT, nothing under his bed, nothing behind the pictures on the wall. They had placed down some tools to which he lifted a hammer deciding if needed to he would use it to defend himself and as that thought left his mind he heard footsteps, thinking quickly he stood beside the door which then opened, whoever was in was out of his field of view, using his foot he closed the door and jumped behind them hammer at the ready but it was then he realised that it was Roadie who was looking up at him in shock. Wile dropped the hammer and raised his hands.
"Roadie I'm so sorry I nearly-" His voice was shaky realizing he could have seriously hurt him if he hadn't stopped himself in time.
Roadie interrupted him. "No, no I knew you were paranoid I should've said something.
Wile suddenly thought about how these creatures could have shapeshifting abilities and looked at Roadie suspiciously.
"Why are you here?" He asked.
Roadie went quiet for a moment before stepping forward and cupping his face.
"You looked really tense back there I wanted to check to see if you were ok"
Wile felt himself relax at the touch, he was definitely the real one, no one else looked at him like that.
"I am now"
Roadie smiled up at him, the two leaned forward and kissed. After the kiss was broken Wile realized they were alone so he could now explain himself.
"I was just checking you were real, I don't trust these subterraneans at all, something about them seems wrong, everyone else is so won over by them and I can't find any evidence to support what I'm saying but I have a gut feeling"
"I believe you" Roadie looked around quickly and then spoke again in a hushed tone. "I think for now we should go along with it in case they get suspicious"
Wile held both of his hands. "Don't worry I wont let anything happen to you, I promise"
"Shall we pretend to sleep now?" Roadie asked.
"Right"
The two moved over to the bed, Wile lay down on his back and Roadie lay over one side of him, his face nuzzled into his neck. The two sat like that making casual conversation about everything and nothing, hours passed with nothing happening, Wile felt himself nearly doze off several times, eventually Roadie had accidentally fallen asleep and due to being such a deep sleeper would not wake for some time. Wile had his arms wrapped around him paranoid that something would come through that door and any moment after finding out he was no longer in his room. As Wile nearly fell asleep again he heard a hissing sound coming from above him along with the smell of something sweet, realizing it was some sort of gas he shot up, after a failed attempt to shake Roadie awake he picked him up instead and headed for the door, feeling dizzy he tried to open it finding it locked instead he used his own body as a battering ram in an attempt to get the door open but it failed. He slipped down to the floor feeling himself passing out he held Roadie tightly as his vision went black, his promise played in his head again and again.
"Don't worry I wont let anything happen to you, I promise"
Chapter 3: The Robots

Bugs opened his eyes, at first everything was blurry but then it focused, struggling to sit up he looked around and saw that they were all in a prison cell.
"Hey Bugs are you feeling alright?" Spoke a calm voice.
Bugs looked to see Lola kneeling beside him, a look of concern on her face.
"Yeah I'm okay, what happened?" Bugs asked.
"I don't want to say I told you so but I told you so" Said Wile as he stood at the front of the cage, his back against the bars.
From outside there was a rock creature, slightly taller than the ones they had seen it wore a crown of diamonds and held a sceptre.
"You're finally awake" It spoke.
"The heck? whose this guy?" Daffy asked, anger within his voice.
The creature wore a devilish smirk, twirling the sceptre between it's fingers as it began to explain itself.
"I am the King of these rock folk and the one to figure out your secret"
The tunes watched with confused expressions, trying to figure out what secret it could be, there wasn't much to them that people didn't already know. Noticing the expressions the King laughed.
"Playing dumb now? it's the reason as to why everyone wants to eat you so badly, you have abilities and when one consumes you they obtain those said abilities which is what we're going to do with you!"
The tunes remained silent trying to process what he had just said, it sounded like some crazy fan theory he whole heartedly believed in. It was also then that it clicked, the reason as to why those rock creatures were so kind with the gifts and the play, they were planning to betray them. The King walked forward towards Roadie and pointed at him with the sceptre.
"And you there Road Runner we have figured out something you have that no one else knows" The King stood aside letting another rock creature approach.
"The Road Runner wasn't in his room when we went to get him which alarmed us" It started. "But then we found him in Wile E. Coyote's room, the two were in an embrace.
The tunes all looked over at the two who had their gazes fixed to the floor, their faces flushed a brilliant red.
"This could only mean one thing, the Road Runner has brainwashing powers"
Seeing as the rock folk seemed to be a bunch of conspiracy theorists who would probably believe the flat Earth theory Lola spied an opportunity, she walked forward, a glare in her eyes.
"Yeah he does and you don't wanna get on the wrong side of that, if he can get an entire coyote to stop chasing him imagine what he could do to you"
Daffy looked at her like she was looney (ha) and then past her seeing Roadie nodding with a serious look on his face.
"Huh? don't be ridiculous Roadie doesn't have-"
Bugs elbowed him, the dead hamster in the wheel of his brain came back to life.
"It's very powerful" He said.
The King all but laughed, telling them that he has already taken the necessary precautions he then turned to the others giving them instructions quiet enough so that the tunes didn't hear before turning and staring at Roadie.
"And be sure that I'm the first one to taste the Road Runner, I want his abilities"
Hearing this, Wile moved in front of Roadie, if looks could kill the King would be dead where he stood, he instead grinned at him before they all left the room.
"See you at the feast"
The tunes gathered together, it was time to figure out how to escape, they had gotten out of several situations similar before so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Remembering the hidden compartment in their rooms that stored the sleeping gas Wile turned to the walls, feeling the bricks to see if any would reveal a hidden door, Lola saw what he was doing and checked under a mirror that was on the wall, nothing underneath. Daffy lifted the bench and felt the floor underneath, nothing. Roadie checked other parts of the floor to see if there were any lose tiles but he didn't find any. Bugs stopped in front of the door.
"Is no one gonna check the door?" He asked.
Daffy looked up from the floor unamused.
"It's a prison Bugs, they're not gonna just leave the door unlocked"
"Well let's just find out and see" Bugs said before pushing the door with his finger.
Instead of not budging or even opening normally the door instead fell off it's hinges and to the floor with a loud crash, Bugs nodded.
"What kinda place is this" Daffy asked, astounded that it worked.
The group stepped over the door and out the cell, noting that the sound of the door falling was loud enough to make their ears ring it most likely attracted some unwanted attention as well, soon enough they heard loud footsteps approaching before a very large rock creature crashed right through the wall next to the wide open door. Lola quickly grabbed a nearby chair.
"This was suppose to be a relaxing vacation!" She yelled as she smashed the chair right into it's head which only broke the chair.
Bugs quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her out the way before the creature could grab her, fortunately for them it had slow movements so they were able to get by it and run. Down the hall they found themselves in what looked like an office area with computers and all kinds of office supplies. As the creature entered Daffy fired all the staplers he could find which only angered it more as it launched a table at them. Wile and Roadie took cover under a desk as the table flew over them, knocking down everything that was on the desk, Roadie picked up an exceptionally long piece of paper and glue, the two looked at each other both sharing the same idea. Bugs, Daffy and Lola were cornered, the creature stood in front of them with an angry look.
"Well I never thought I'd die to a giant rock monster" Said Daffy in an almost comedic tone.
Bugs remembered the last thing he saw in the future, being stuck inside the time machine while he watched Daffy and Lola being erased right in front of him, he couldn't let them get hurt again, he wouldn't. Bugs jumped in front of the two, opening his arms in a protective manner.
"No you don't get to hurt them!" He screamed.
The sudden loudness had startled the creature causing it to stumble back a bit, Wile jumped up on top of it, slapping the beginning of the paper in it's face, having covered it in glue it stayed there, Roadie then having the rest of the paper ran circles around it, wrapping it up until it couldn't move and fell down hitting it's head on a table knocking it out instantly. Lola cheered.
"Yeah nice one!"
"Paper beats rock" Said Wile with a confident smirk and a shrug.
Bugs lowered his arms slowly.
"Thank you Wile" He said quietly.
The two shared a knowing look, Wile being the only other person who had gone through the pain of seeing friends getting erased and seeing others cry, the two hadn't spoken about it since fixing the timeline, hoping that if they just ignored it then it would go away as it never happened but it was clear that it wasn't working. The other tunes picked up on the change of mood, Roadie turned Wile towards him, wrapping his wings around his waist and pulling him into a hug to comfort him, Wile hugged back finally breaking eye contact with Bugs whose gaze went to the floor.
"Hey um you okay there" Daffy asked, not being too sure on how to express his concern and accidentally coming off a bit awkward. He placed a hand on Bug's shoulder.
Bugs closed his eyes and took a breath before turning around, smiling as if nothing had happened.
"Yep I'm fine let's get outta here"
Before anyone could say anything more they heard a very familiar voice from outside the door.
"I say boy I say what's all that ruckus?"
The tunes exchanged looks, that couldn't be who they thought it was right? how would he even get here in the first place? Peering down the hall they saw Foghorn Leghorn standing with his back to them, he was looking into the prison they escaped from, they smiled at him and ran down to greet him.
"Foghorn how did you get here?" Asked Daffy.
"I am not Foghorn" he replied. "I am evil Foghorn"
The one who they thought was their friend turned around revealing his glowing red eyes and sinister smile, he had suddenly gone to grab Daffy who was luckily pulled away by Bugs at the last minute. The group ran, spying a missing floor tile.
"There's a hole in the ground let's jump into it!" Bugs yelled.
"That sounds like a stupid idea let's do it!" Daffy replied with also a yell.
The group jumped into the hole one at a time and plastered themselves against the wall, hearing Foghorn passing by talking to himself, they let out a breath.
"It worked" Bugs said relieved.
"Yeah it worked" Said Daffy "And now I can't see"
"Do you want to hold my hand?"
"NO I DO NOT"
Bugs and Lola laughed at the angry response trying their best to keep quiet before they were shushed by Wile.
"Everyone be quiet, do you hear that?" He asked.
The tunes stopped laughing and listened closely, a distant sound of whirring and beeping was heard.
"Sounds like machinery?" Said Lola.
Wile nodded, completely ignoring the fact that Daffy couldn't see him.
"I say we follow it"
The rest had agreed, they had no idea where they were and how they were getting out so it was a chance they had to take. Wile took Roadie's hand and kept him close and he also couldn't see, Daffy swallowed his pride and held onto Bugs's arm, as they walked along they heard the noise grow louder, thankfully no one else seemed to be down there with them. As they walked together Wile noticed something odd, he was holding Roadie's hand as he had done many times but for the first time Roadie wasn't holding his hand, he decided to keep quiet about it but he had a bad feeling. At the end of their walk sat a closed door, a light on the other side, they carefully opened it to find a room of controls with no one in it. There was another door at the other side of the room and a large window beside it, Daffy made his way over and looked out, he saw an underground river with a few boats tied up.
"Hey look at this" He said, motioning everyone to come over.
They all looked out and decided that it was the only thing they could really do. Attempts to open the door failed as it was held shut with power. Wile observed the control panel.
"Any ideas?" Bugs asked.
Wile nodded, pointing to a keyhole in the middle.
"My guess is this here, so if I can-" He opened up a section underneath exposing the wires. "Right, piece of cake" He began sorting through them.
Outside they heard the distant echo of Foghorns voice, everyone exchanged shocked looks and slowly closed the door making sure to make as little noise as possible. As he sorted through the wires Wile couldn't shake that bad feeling he had, he looked over at Roadie who was stood there a blank smile on his face but his eyes devoid of emotion, as a test Wile quickly withdrew his hand and made a hissing sound like he had just shocked himself, Roadie did not react, Wile had connected the dots, as hard as he could he punched Roadie clear across the face, knocking him back a bit he felt instant pain in his hand.
"Wow Wile what are you doing!?" Lola yelled, grabbing Wile and pulling him away from Roadie.
"That's not my Road Runner"
The others looked over at who they thought was Roadie who stared back at them, half of it's face hung off exposing the metal underneath, it's eyes glowing red, it opened it's beak and let out a series of loud beeps, outside the door they heard Foghorn.
"I say now is this where you have been hiding?"
Loud banging on the door along with dents told them the fake Foghorn was attempting to break down the door. The fake Roadie ran circles around them causing them to group together, suddenly they heard sounds above them, a ceiling tile fell down along with another Roadie.
"Where have you been!?" Daffy asked in a panic.
Roadie showed a sign which read 'Got lost sorry' before he noticed the other him, he looked at Wile and saw blood on his hand, he felt the rage boiling inside him. The two Roadie's approached each other and a fight started, it was too fast for anyone to figure out what was happening. Wile could only watch not being able to fully see what was going on caused feelings of panic and dread to rise up.
"Wile quick the wires!" Lola yelled.
Wile nodded and went back to the wires, going as quickly as he could and working through his injury he was finally able to find the one he was looking for and the door was opened. As it happened Bugs found a gun sitting on a high shelf, jumping up to grab it he aimed it where the Roadies were.
"Both of you stop!" He said firmly.
The two Roadie's stopped fighting and stood a few feet apart, the fake had repaired it's face and now the two looked identical, Bugs started sweating not knowing which one was real and which was fake.
"Which one is the fake?" He asked with a shakiness in his voice.
Lola and Daffy also looked stumped, looking back and fourth at the two.
"Quick ask them a question only the real Roadie would know!" Ordered Daffy, his tone urgent.
"Hey Wile maybe you should do this?" Said Bugs not taking his eyes off the birds.
Behind them the fake Foghorns arm had burst through the door and began bending the metal, Wile quickly grabbed the gun and shot the fake right through the head, it fell to the ground and sparked. Not having time to deflate after that the group ran out the door and down the stairs behind them they heard another familiar sound, there was a fake Taz spinning around following them, quickly they started getting into the boat but just as Lola was almost there something grabbed her ankle and she fell, looking back she saw a fake Pepe Le Pew.
"Mon cheri why do you leave do quickly?" It asked, the accent on point.
The fake Pepe yanked Lola back, Bugs grabbed onto her hand and pulled, unfortunately due to being a robot the strength ratio was a bit one sided. An idea entered Daffy's head, he put one foot in the water and kicked hard causing a lot of it to land on the fake Pepe, it short circuited and started sparking heavily.
"Water beats robot!" He yelled triumphantly.
Bugs pulled Lola into the boat and pushed away from the dock. More robots appeared behind them, a fake Sylvester leaped forward and landed in the boat with them. Lola kicked it hard and it fell backwards into the water exploding on impact.
Daffy raised a fist in the air. "Ha! suck it robots"
What they didn't account for is the fact that the fake Daffy and Tweety could fly, a fake Elmer started firing at them causing them all to duck down. Roadie had a plan, quickly he got to the back of the boat and put his legs in the water turning the boat into a speedboat, the tunes nearly fell out but caught themselves quickly, the river took them into a tunnel which then became a maze, taking random turns so that the robots couldn't find them, Roadie finally stopped once they were far enough away.
"We did it!" Lola cheered.
Bugs pulled Lola into a hug to which she returned, Daffy watched the two.
"Hey where's my hug? I saved you!" He complained.
Lola pulled away. "Yep you did" She pulled him in as well, wrapping her arms around the both of them.
On the other side of the boat Wile pulled Roadie out of the water, hugging him tightly.
"That was incredible darling"
Roadie practically melted into the hug before remembering what he had seem earlier, he pulled away and focused on his injured hand, seeing blood on his knuckles.
"You're hurt" He said softly.
"It's not that bad" Wile said, he attempted to show him by straightening his fingers out which only caused more pain, he visibly cringed.
"Hey I hate to interrupt" Said Daffy. "But does anyone hear running water?"
Everyone listened and they did indeed hear running water.
"Huh yeah it almost sounds like a waterfall" Bugs replied.
"Haha good thing this isn't a cartoon or it probably would be"
"Daffy I have some news for you"
Before Bugs could go any further their boat did indeed go over a waterfall.
