Work Text:

“Are you gremlins ready yet? We’re gonna be late and we’re in the building!”

“Oh loosen up, Dabi. Let the kids have fun getting ready. They just want to look their best.” Nemuri grinned as she adjusted her witch’s hat.

“If they take any longer, they’re going to miss the activities Keigo planned.” Dabi grumbled as he checked the time on his phone again.

Yui chuckled softly the exchange as she finished buckling on the boot for her costume. She was just glad Nemuri was able to help her with the makeup for her costume so she wasn’t trying to figure it out herself. She had gone with a cyborg look, her left arm and right leg had on metal plating and wires to look robotic, her right arm covered in a translucent sleeve that had glowing teal wires underneath to make it look like she had them under her skin. A black sleeveless turtleneck and cargo pants with an old utility belt and one of her steel-toed boots. The hardest parts had been the metal plating that she had on her face, part on her left jaw and over her right eye that glowed teal and the hair cap that made it look like half of her head was shaved, with the matching teal wires on her scalp. Nemuri’s makeup skills so it’d look like it was actually part of her scalp and not a cap had even Dabi convinced it was real when she’d stepped out.

Dabi had gone for picking out some of his older clothes and ripping or burning them up and using green and brown make up on some parts of his scars to resemble a zombie. “You sure that stuff doesn’t irritate your skin?” Yui asked as she poked a green patch on his arm.

He lifted a shoulder in a half-shrug, “My skin is as healed as it’s probably ever gonna be. And this stuff is for sensitive skin so it’s pretty mellow.”

“Well, you look pretty good for a dead man, sweetheart.” Nemuri grinned as she went to pinch his cheek before he dodged her. She was a witch for the evening, a purple peasant top that hung off her shoulders, black corset with a black and silver spider webbed pattern skirt, fishnet tights and stilleto heels.

“You know, with Dabi being a zombie and you being a witch, you two could have gone as Sarah Sanderson and Billy the zombie from Hocus Pocus.” Yui pointed out.

Nemuri gave a loud gasp, “Dangit! We so could have done that! I could have made Shouta and Zashi dress up as the other sisters!”

“If Keigo couldn’t get me to dress up as one of his asinine ‘couple’ costume ideas, why do you think you’d get me to?” Dabi snorted.

“Because you know how stubborn I am. We always got next year, Dabi.”

“Are we doing a family costume next year? We should do something for Nightmare before Christmas!” Himi chimed in as she walked out of the bathroom, hair in her signature messy buns but with bat wing adornments, her skin a little paler than normal with two heart shaped fang marks on her neck. A red and black faux-Victorian style dress with poofy sleeves and lots of lace and frills, and black lace up boots with bright red ribbons.

“Oh, I call Zero!” Izuku grinned from behind her. He was just in a long tattered white cape, the hood decorated with a jack-o-lantern style face with his freckles to match, the cape decorated with various patches and tied at the neck with a bow tie. Yui’s favorite patches were Eraser's goggles and Mic's directional speaker.

“Are you guys done? Can we head down now?”

“Oh, you two are so cute, I can just gobble you up!” Nemuri swooned, squishing both of their faces enough to make them giggle.

“Yeah, we’re ready, Dabi-nii. Sorry to keep you waiting.” Izuku grinned up at him.

“As long as you,” he gave a pointed stare at Himiko, “Didn’t trash Keigo’s bathroom. Just because he has a housekeeper doesn’t mean we can make it look like something exploded.”

“I cleaned up after myself, thank you very much. Let’s get downstairs! The dads should be here by now with the friends! And I can’t wait to meet them!” Himiko grabbed Izuku’s hand and dragged him out the front door. Dabi heaved a sigh as he followed after them, Nemuri and Yui at the rear to lock up. Getting on the elevator so Dabi could punch in the code that would take them down to the main floor of Hawk’s hero agency where the annual Halloween bash was held.

The first floor of the hero agency was decorated with fake cobwebs, tombstones and plenty of jack-o-lanterns, tables lined with candy and other treats and snacks, and booths and activity tables with games for the kids that came in. There were a tons of half-pint monsters and heroes running around. There was even an area set up that showed Halloween cartoons. Yui could only guess that the winged hero had gotten inspiration from his week in the states.

“There you guys are, I was starting to worry you were holding a private party I didn’t get an invite to.” Hawks teased, he was in a white toga with gold armbands, sandals and belt at his waist, a somewhat crooked halo on top of his head. He grinned at Dabi, taking his hands to pull him closer, “I see even death couldn’t keep you away from me, Dabi.”

His boyfriend’s face flushed when the three gremlins behind him let out wolf whistles. “Like I could ever get away from you.”

“Oh so true. Oops, sorry guys, a new batch of kiddos just came in. I’ll meet up with you in a bit.” He quickly pecked Dabi’s cheek before he was going to meet the group that walked in.

“Oooh he wuuvvss you.” Himi couldn’t help but tease, even if Dabi scowled at her, hand raising as little blue flames flickered at his fingertips.

“Watch it you little flea or I swear-” His threat cut out when Yui jabbed at his side, a noise between a yelp and a giggle escaping his lips as he turned to her, rubbing the area. “The fuck, Yui?”

“You’re not wearing your suit. No flames, Dabi. I know where the fire extinguishers are, you know. If you’re gonna brawl, at least make it interesting and don’t use Quirks.”

“Oh, twenty thousand yen on Himi.” Izu grinned, a pocket sized notebook appearing from the folds of his costume.

“Ouch, Izu. You don’t think I can take her?”

“You have height and weight advantage over her, but she outclasses you with her knowledge of pressure points and fighting style. So without Quirks, Himi would win.” He shrugged, “It’s nothing against you, Dabi-nii. You just have a fighting style that doesn’t match well with hers.”

Yui nodded, “Yeah, I’d have to go with Himi too. Plus, she’s an expert at dodging attacks and slipping out of holds. If you didn’t get her down, and we all know you wouldn’t be socking her over her teasing you about Hawks being lovey-dovey, she’d be at the clear advantage. You focus on brute strength, and Himi’s is finesse.”

He looked between the three of them, arms folded sullenly as his shoulders hunched up. “This family makes me wanna murder people.” He grumbled out.

“I mean, murder is always on the ta-” Yui grunted as a weight rammed into her, arms wrapped tightly enough that the air was driven from her lungs.

“Yui! You look so cool, did you make your costume? Did you put wires under your skin and shave your head? How'd you do the arm and leg? Is that real metal?” Nejire’s torrent of questions paused for a moment when her attention drifted to Izuku. “Hi Izu! Are you a ghost? Are you a friendly one like Caspar or one of the mischievous ones that play pranks?”

“Hi Nejire-chan! I like to think I’m about half and half.” He chuckled softly, “How’d the carpool go? Did everyone make it okay?”

“Oh yeah! It was really nice of Aizawa and Yamada senseis to drive us here!” She pointed out the two men that were over by a secluded area, Aizawa covered in wrappings and his capture weapon like a mummy, trying to blend into the background. If only his husband wasn't done up like Frankenstein's monster, his hair in its usual cockatoo style but streaked with neon green and blue, the neck bolts flashing with fake sparks. His leather outfit made up of different colored patches. Yamada beamed at them, waving excitedly.

"I'll go keep him preoccupied. You kiddos have fun!" Nemuri smiled as she ruffled hair before going to intercept the loud blonde, her phone in hand.

The bubbly girl finally unlatched herself, letting Yui turn so she could take a look at her. She had on a sleeveless dress that looked like layered leaves, as if Tinkerbell had put it together. Around her arms and legs and even braided into her hair were delicate green vines with little multicolored flowers. On her back were a pair of pastel blue costume fairy wings. Nejire grinned as she did a little spin when she saw that Yui was looking at her. “What do you think, Yui?”

Yui swallowed, wondering why her throat was dry before she smiled, “Really cute, Nejire. The fairy look really suits you. Are those real flowers?”

“Yep! Hayashi was nice enough to grow them for me. And after tonight, I can put them on a trellis and keep them alive.”

“Not to be a bummer, Nejire, but you don’t exactly have a green thumb. You killed the succulent your mom got you in a week.” Yui turned as Mirio walked up with Tamaki hiding a pace behind him. Mirio had on torn and dirty jeans and a flannel shirt and sneakers, his nails actually painted black and formed into claws and Yui saw fake fangs on his teeth when he grinned. He had wolf ears and a tail that blended pretty well with his blonde hair. Still, Yui couldn’t help but poke fun at him, a little bit.

“What are you supposed to be, Mirio? A golden retriever in need of a bath?”

“Haha, very funny, cyborg, I’m a werewolf. I’m here to have a howling good time.” He grinned as he looked around, before his shoulders slumped dejectedly, “Really? It wasn’t that bad.”

“Hey Tama, I like your costume. Are you some kind of demon?” Yui leaned around Mirio to look at Tamaki. He was wearing a dark red feathered cloak that was almost long enough to touch the floor but showed peeks of three taloned feet. He had a black half-mask that resembled a crow’s that was tied to the side of his head on an angle.

It was obvious that he was fidgeting under the attention as the cloak rustled. “U-Um, I based it off the sun crow. I-it's a kind of mythic crow that eats grasses of immortality...a-and the translation for one of them is.. Ground sun.”

Mirio gave a dramatic gasp, one hand going to his chest as he turned to Tamaki with shining eyes, “A sun-eater?” If the tail had been real, it would have started going a mile a minute at the navy-haired teen’s nod. “I can’t believe you’re just telling me now. We could have matched. I would have dressed up as the sun!”

“So you want Tamaki to eat you?” Yui raised an eyebrow at him, a grin curling her lips despite trying to keep a straight face.

Mirio just grinned, wiggling his eyebrows, “Hey, whatever makes Tamaki happy~” Tamaki looked like he wanted to melt into the floor as he ducked his face into the feathers.

Yui chuckled before Himiko loudly cleared her throat, rocking back and forth as she looked at Yui. “Oh! Right. Guys, this is Himiko and Dabi, they’re part of our family. Himi, Dabi, these are my best friends. Nejire, Tamaki and Mirio.”

“Oh, so these are the brats you talk so much about.” Dabi raised his eyebrow as Yui’s face flushed pink at being called out like that.

“I don’t talk about them that much.” She grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest as she looked away only for a large arm to hook around her shoulders and pull her into a crushing side hug.

“Awww Yui, I knew you cared! You talk about us to your family, that’s so sweet!” Mirio teased, easily keeping her in place even when she started to squirm.

“You have no idea what I’ve said, I could have just been complaining about your terrible puns.”

“That’s not true, Yui-chan. You talk about how nice they are, how you love hanging out with them, that you felt so lucky they wanted to be friends with you- mph!” Yui quickly covered Himi’s mouth with an outstretched hand to cut her off mid-ramble, trying to ignore just how hot her face felt as she cleared her throat.

“Nejire’s favorite color is pink, Himi and she’s training to be a hero, and she’s really into cute things. You have so much to talk about.” She said quickly.

Himi broke free from her grasp with a huge gasp, stepping closer to the periwinkle-haired girl, “Really? Do you like cute clothes? I can definitely get together some outfits for you! If you’re ever back in Kyushu we should get together and have a girl’s day! I know the best places to shop and there’s this mochi stand that is really underrated, it’s literally the best I’ve ever had.”

Nejire’s eyes were practically sparkling as she leaned forward, “I love cute clothes! I don’t get to come to Kyushu a lot but we should hang out sometime! Yui, can you-”

“I’ll make a group chat so everyone has each other’s numbers if they want.” She smiled softly, glad that the misdirection seemed to have worked.

“Thank you! Oh! I have so many questions for you! Yui said you want to be a hero, and you can transform into people! That’s so cool, can you transform into anyone or just people you know? Is there a limit? Is there a criteria for transforming? Does it hurt? Can you use their Quirks? Are those real fangs or part of your costume?” Nejire rambled off as she rocked back and forth on her heels.

Dabi blinked at her, both eyebrows raised “Wow, haven’t heard that many questions on Quirks since we met Izuku.”

“Heh, tell me about it.” A voice droned out, making them turn toward a familiar indigo haired teen in a purple cat eared hoodie. Izu grinned as he pulled his friend into a hug.

“Toshi! I was wondering where you were, I was kinda worried that you had second thoughts. Dabi, Himi, this is my best friend Hitsohi! Or you might know him as Lavender.” The green bean pulled him over to Dabi, Himi giving an excited wave before going back to talking to Nejire. “I’m not embarrassed to admit I talk about you all the time.”

“As long as it’s just the bad stuff.” Toshi joked, easily leaning his elbow on the shorter teen’s shoulder as he met Dabi’s eyes. “Izu talks about you two all the time too. Usually pranks.”

Dabi rolled his eyes, grumbling out, “Of course he would. Probably going around and telling all the embarrassing shit. Just remember who you ran to whenever there was a spider.” But his gaze softened the words.

“And I will be forever grateful, Dabi-nii. Since we’re all here, should we head up? They have more activities on the upper floors for the older kids.” Izu smiled, “There’s the haunted house, and the games? I saw the plans, it’s almost like a carnival. Hawks went all out on planning this year.”

“You kids have fun. I’m going to join Nem with the other adults.” He lifted a hand in a lazy wave before he started to walk off.

“We all know you’re going to find Hawks, Dabi, you don’t gotta fib to us!” Himi called out loudly, giving Dabi her best innocent smile when he turned back to glare at her, his face flushed beneath the makeup before he quickly turned and kept going.

“So, what do you guys want to do first? Haunted house or the games?” Yui asked, “And Izu, you can’t hit anyone when they jump out at you.”

“I’m not that bad when it comes to scary stuff.” He pouted, crossing his arms over his chest.

“You threw a remote at the tv when I made you watch the Conjuring with me.” Yui reminded him, his face flushing at the reminder. “And you broke the tv.”

“I bought a new one to apologize...”

“Don’t worry, Izu. I won’t let any of the serial killers getcha.” Toshi glanced at Yui, one eyebrow raised as a little smirk curled his lip, “Will you still be putting on a brave face without your boyfriend’s arm around you?”

Yui blinked, “Boyfr-” Her face flamed when she realized Mirio’s arm was still around her shoulders, quickly pushing back from him, “We’re friends, Lavender.”

“Oh don’t be shy, Yui. You can stay as close as you want in the haunted house, there’s no shame to being scared.” Mirio grinned, his grip tightening before he let out a muffled chuckle when Yui poked his ribs.

“Down boy.” She grumbled, ducking out from under his arm and stepping back. She huffed out a breath before she looked at Hitoshi, “And I don’t need to put on a brave face. I love getting scared.”

“Good to know. So, haunted house first? If anyone gets too freaked out, we’d be able to unwind with the games they have set up?” Hitoshi suggested, the group giving positive affirmations before getting in the elevator and heading to the right floor. The elevator doors opened to a small area surrounded by black panels with only one way to go that was a bit too cramped for the seven teenagers.

A head swung down from the ceiling, eliciting shrieks from most of the group. Yui blinked, feeling someone’s hand curl in the fabric of her shirt, a weight settling between her shoulders as feathers tickled her skin. She smiled softly as she subtly slid her arm behind her, wiggling her fingers until she felt Tamaki grip her hand.

“Only groups of four or less are allowed past this point. If you have any among you not brave enough to venture forth, please follow the red lights to the waiting area.” The head’s voice started out dramatic, easing into a sweeter tone as she smiled, a floating hand pointing it out. She was maybe around Izuku or Himi’s age, with long dark green hair and eyes. “No shame for opting out, kiddos. If you still want to go in but would rather the monsters keep their hands to themselves, please grab one of the pendants hanging right there. Please remember to refrain from any Quirk usage and have fun!”

“So… how should we split up?” Izuku asked, turning to look back at the group.

“Oh, you, me and Lavender!” Himi grinned as she hooked her arms through theirs, “Leave the older kids in the graveyard dust!”

“Are we making it a competition? I bet you guys scream way louder.” Mirio grinned, looping his arms over Yui’s and Nejire’s shoulders.

Hitoshi raised an eyebrow, looking at Tamaki still huddled against Yui’s back. “Heh, I’m not so sure about that dog-boy. Pixie over there really screamed when she came swinging down.”

“Hey! I was screaming for fun, thank you very much.” Nejire pouted.

“Come on! Let’s go boys, leave the smack talk for after we win!” Himi chirped as she skipped forward, pulling the two along the path and out of sight.

“This is a really weird thing to compete over.” Yui hummed, grinning when she heard screams that were definitely from Izuku and Himi. “What’s even the point? Clout?”

“Aww come on, Yui, don’t flake out of me. We gotta show them how brave we are, we are older.” Mirio grinned, but the teen could see that familiar spark of competitiveness that lit up those blue eyes.

“You just want to win.” She grinned as she grabbed one of the pendants, which started to glow a bright green. She held it behind her back, “Here, Tama.” There was a pause before it left her hand.

“Th-Thank you…” His voice whispered at her back.

“No shame if you don’t want to go in, you know? Not everyone is psychotic enough to enjoy being scared.” She kept her voice low, turning so she was facing away from the other two so Tamaki would be the only one to hear her. His fingers gave hers a small squeeze.

“I-I can do this...I hope” His voice wavered at the end.

“We’ll be right here with you, Tamaki!” Nejire smiled brightly at him, swinging her arms as she bounced lightly on the balls of her feet. “And they’re just actors, we don’t have anything to worry about.”

“If you four are ready...enter if you dare.” The girl’s floating head intoned, face serious for a moment before she winked.

“I’ll go first!” Mirio grinned as he stepped up, Nejire bouncing right behind him. Yui pulled Tamaki in front of her.

“I have your back, Tamaki.” He gave a shaky nod, keeping a grip on her hand as they went inside.

“We have to go single file guys, the walls are like airbags.” Mirio warned them before he was pushing his way inside. “It’s not so bad, just pretend like you’re being born, just keep pushing!”

“I did not want to have that thought in my head, Miri, thanks.” Yui grumbled as the three of them pushed in after them, it was unnerving, having the walls pressed against you and having to fight for the steps forward like you were walking through molasses.

Then the resistance was gone and they were left stumbling, Mirio giving out a yelp as he tumbled forward, and with them all holding hands, pulled them after him as they thankfully landed on something soft but...squishy.

Yui’s nose crinkled as her hand sank into something wet, pulling back to squint at the red that coated her skin. She winced when Nejire gave a shriek, “Is that blood?! That’s blood! It looks like we’re in a slaughterhouse!”

“They’re gonna chop us up next!” Yui rolled her eyes as she got to her feet, pulling Tamaki and Nejire to theirs. But hey, if Mirio was going to be dramatic, she wasn’t going to mention that the blood was obviously fake.

“There’s only one way to go guys.” She pointed out, looking at the metal chute that they’d have to climb up to get out of the pit they were in. Red lights lit the wall and added to the illusion. It was like they were actually stuck in some sort of slaughter pit. She blinked when some sort of saw started up, the floor beneath them starting to shake and rumble.

“Let’s go!” Mirio jumped onto the chute, taking Nejire’s hand and helping her up. She reached back to grab Tamaki’s hand and pull him on as the floor actually started to sink down. Is it bad that I’m tempted to stay and see what happens? Yui mused before Tamaki and Nejire were both reaching for her, grabbing her arms and yanking her up.

“Come on, we gotta get out!” Nejire urged, pushing on Mirio’s back to get him to start going up, nervous laughter bubbling in her voice. They started to climb up, the chute was at a decent slope and had decent grips in the metal so climbing up wasn’t as hard as it looked.

They climbed out into a metal room that had an arrangement of knives, what looked like machetes, and pitchforks on the walls, and only one door that was cracked open. “Think we’re allowed to grab weapons, or would that be against the rules?” Mirio asked, pointing at the wall with a grin before an alarm rang out, a robotic voice echoing in the room.

Attention, abnormality in room three. Code N32, livestock escaping the pit.”

Oh, we’re considered livestock. That’s charming.” Yui muttered, already heading for the door. “Let’s go. This is more like some sort of escape room. I don’t really want to find out if there’s a bad ending or something.” She opened the door, peeking out to see a hallway where they could go left or right. “Which way should we go?”

“Let’s try right.” Nejire poked her head out, her fingers curling around Yui’s upper arm before she turned to look back at the boys, Mirio leaning over her to look down the hallways.

“Might as well, there’s more lights that way. I’ll go first.” He said, stepping in front of them as they started to head down the hallway, following the trail of flashing red lights as the alarm kept ringing. There were heavy footsteps that approached from the hallway they hadn’t gone down that made the group go a little faster.

They rounded a corner when Mirio pulled up short, Tamaki bumping into him. “Ugh, Mirio, why’d you…stop?” His voice squeaked at the last word when he saw why his friend had stopped so suddenly.

A large man in bloodstained coveralls and a cracked hockey mask stood at the end of the hall, the light above him flickering as he had his back to them, head turning as if searching for his prey. He had a rusty sickle in his hand, the blade stained red or maybe that was just the glow from the lights.

Yui quickly covered Nejire’s mouth as she let out a muffled gasp, raising her other hand to press a finger to her own lips before she pointed out a turn halfway between where they were and where he was. She started to walk down the hallway, footsteps silent compared to the alarm that wouldn’t stop blaring, she couldn’t help the way her heart pounded rapidly in her chest as she resisted the urge to sprint. Even if this was just an actor, she could give props to the dedication to the overall atmosphere they’d created for this. She ducked into the hallway, which was thankfully empty before she glanced at the man who still had his back to them before she waved at the others.

They were almost to her when Tamaki tripped, letting out a yelp that had the man turning toward them. “Found you…” His voice rasped out as he started toward them.

“Run!” Nejire squeaked out as she helped Tamaki straighten out before pulling him along, Mirio leading the way as Yui took up the rear, his heavy footprints getting closer as she felt the hair on the back of her neck rise. Nejire and Tamaki both let out shrieks as something slammed into a door they got close to, taloned fingers reaching through the gap at the bottom and making them all skirt around them.

“You can’t escape… you have to go back to the chute…” His voice growled out.

They turned another corner, a glaring red ‘exit’ sign above the door at the end of the hallway urged them on. It wasn’t until they passed the first window that Yui saw they went all the way, and that they had bars over them. Mirio let out a scream the others echoed when clawed fingers wrapped around his arm, a wolf mutant growling out at them as it glared down at them with glowing yellow eyes.

“Little wolf…you’re going the wrong way.” It growled, reaching out when Mirio jerked his arm free to stumble forward. A woman with green skin and glowing red eyes reached out with toxic-looking yellow fingers.

“Fairy girl, let me pluck your wings~”

“No thank you!” Nejire chirped, pushing Mirio forward as more monsters reached at them through the bars, their voices muddling together and latching onto clothes and arms to slow them down. One hissed and recoiled before he touched Tamaki’s arm.

“The bird boy has the amulet! The butcher will get you and we will feast!” He jeered, manic laughter echoing as the screech of steel rang out and making the teens glance back as the masked man grated his sickle against the wall, eyes glowing red under the mask as he got closer.

“Fresh meat…can’t let it go to waste…”

“Nope, Miri get moving!” Yui’s voice rose a few octaves as she pressed forward, her friends quickly picking up the pace and dodging the grabby fingers that slowed them down as the butcher got closer. Mirio pushed open the door, the four of them tumbling through right when Yui felt large gloved fingers brush the back of her neck.

“We have four new survivors! Congratulations from escaping the slaughterhouse!” They jumped as the girl’s head appeared from the ceiling again.

“You guys made it!” Himi grinned at them, it looked like she’d rolled around in the pit from how much fake blood was splattered on her.

“I definitely heard some loud screams.” Toshi flashed them a Cheshire cat grin.

“Like we didn’t all hear Izu and Himi screaming not even a minute into going inside.” Nejire pointed out, her cheeks puffed out.

“Hey, I was screaming because it was fun! I really liked the slaughter pit!” Himi grinned, her fingers curled into claws as she pretended to swipe at them.

“We didn’t even scream that much, I think you were hearing things, purple-boy.” Mirio taunted, the four of them starting to banter on who screamed more as Tamaki handed the pendant to the girl’s floating hand.

Yui stepped closer to Izuku, his white sheet splattered with red as he grinned up at her, though he did have an occasional tremor going through him. “You punch anyone?” She asked softly as their friends kept going at it.

Izuku chuckled sheepishly, reaching back to scratch the back of his head. “Um, just one? The guy with the wolf mutation grabbed Toshi and said he really liked the taste of cat and my hand just…bop!”

“Heh, he deserved it. And you must not have hurt him too bad since he was still there when we went through. Hey, did you also wonder what would happen in the pit if you didn’t jump onto the chute of if you went down the wrong hallway? She said survived, does that mean there was a chance to not?” Yui asked, grinning when his emerald eyes lit up and the tremoring stilled.

“You too?! I was tempted to stay in the pit just to see but Toshi pulled me up, and then we had to get Himi cuz she really didn’t want to leave the pit. You know, the fake blood and whatnot. And what hallway did you go down? We went down left first and almost ran into a group of people in hazmat suits with weapons. We had to run to get away from them and they alerted the butcher and we had to dodge him to get to that one hallway to get to the exit!” He rambled, making motions with his hands to try to help explain their actions.

“Sorry to break up the commotion, but did you want to take a picture before or after we get the ‘blood’ off you?” The girl asked, raising her voice for them to quiet down. She grinned as she waved a camera at them, “If you wanted a souvenir of surviving, that is?”

“Oh yeah! Group photo time!” Mirio let out a howl as he pulled Nejire, Hitoshi and Himi into a group hug, lifting them off their feet as he turned to face her. “Yui, Izu, Tama, get in here!”

Yui rolled her eyes as a grin curled her lips at his antics, going to stand at his side as Izuku hopped on his back, giving an impish grin of his own as he put a hand on top of the blonde’s head. Tamaki shuffled to his other side.

“Alright everyone, strike a pose and say ‘Happy Halloween!” she grinned as she aimed the camera. Tamaki glancing at the camera with a shaky smile even if his shoulders hunched up, Mirio holding his captives as Izuku appeared to hover over his shoulder. Himi and Nejire playing up the dramatics by pretending to be capture, though it wasn’t really believable with the large grins on their faces. Hitoshi let himself hang limply, looking very much like the cat he was dressed up as with the small smile twitching his lips. Yui leaned an arm against Mirio’s shoulder, grinning toward the camera as they all chorused.

“Happy Halloween!”
