If you tell Aizawa Shouta alias Eraserhead that he adopted a stray on the street, he will agree--But a child is a whole new level.
He was bleeding in the alleyway, which is not a good way to die but could be worst.
He encounters a robbery in a nearby jewelry store just when he is about to end his patrol. He manages to maintain the safety of the civilians while avoiding quills from one of the mutation criminals since both of the criminals are mutation quirks, erasure quirk does not affect them.
When both criminals escape with the jewelry, he tends the civilians if they are alright. With no injuries and the police were on their way, he used his capture weapon to swing on the light street to track down after the criminals.
He manages to get ahead of their escape route after finding a trace of shiny jewelry that drops in the attempt to run away.
It turned out that while capturing the mutation person, the other activated their quirk when they returned to consciousness. "Luck seems to favor the criminals who knew
?".
He thought sarcastic as he tried to stand up, his legs were already out of commission, and his communicator was busted.
That is how he is sitting in alleyways with a gash on his stomach, hissing at the pain. He cut half of his capture weapon to put on his wound. He was in and out of consciousness when a white ball came into view. Shouta moved his eyes toward the moving figures, and he was met with a cat with one yellow eye; the other half, blind with a scar.
The white cat came up to him and head-butted his thigh. Shouta tried to pet it, but he had little energy to pet the cat. He mummer to the cat when suddenly the cat turned and yowled for what he presumed a person.
Frantic step coming to them and calling out 'Sora' in a worried voice, a boy not that old but a teen, short to be exact, with green eyes and bushy hair. The boy stretched his arms out, and on instinct, the cat jumped to him, cuddling at his chest.
"You little rascal! You need to stop disappearing every time I turn my eyes elsewhere,"
That was where the boy met eyes with the underground hero; he made a squeaking sound realizing a person was leaning against the wall.
The boy looked up and down at him before walking to him. "Ummm, hey, are you okay?" He spoke. Shouta responded with a grunt toward the teenager. The boy knelt beside him, and he gasped when he saw blood stained on his capture weapon.
Shouta responded with a grunt toward the teenager. "I'm fine, kid," he does not want the teen to be involved in this mess.
"Um...Let m-me help you, please? I k-kinda of think it's not safe to rest here, you know?" He gestured toward the injuries at his stomach.
"This kid is a problem child, isn't it," he thought. "What about you, kid. Why are you out here late and in an alleyway?" He responded instead.
The teen blushed, his finger fiddling with the other. "Oh, I-i was taking out the trash," He said timidly. Shouta can see that the teen isn't lying about taking the trash since he has an apron with a few stains on it.
The white cat started angrily yowling at the boy, what he presumed was the owner of the cat. It managed to get his attention.
"B-but let's stop talking a-and get you to the place where you patch up. Here let me help you," the boy holds Shouta by the armpit while the other hand is on his back.
The boy helped Shouta (keyword: tried) stand up when his body protested the movement. "Uh, here you, I think you might need this f-for your wound, sir," he held out a napkin from his pocket and gave it to Shouta.
He accepted with a tired gruff "Thank," he hoped his tone wasn't too blunt; he didn't want to frighten him.
"Alright then, let's go," with the cat following, both of them walk out of the alleyway onto the street. All the stores in this district were closed, mostly the stores that open 24 hours, and the streetlight was the only one they passed.
It was a short walk on the sidewalk when the cat moved forward, stopping at the door dimly light coming from the store. "A-ah, we-we are almost there, please just hang a little," Shouta makes a sound movement getting weaker.
There were getting before the boy held tightened around him, and he spoke with a nervous and scared voice, "If I bring you to my home, you won't kill me, right?" he giggles nervously.
The boy carefully lets Shouta lean against the wall hisses at the pain blood stops flowing, so that's good.
Shouta grumbles out. "Kid, I’m a hero, and to top it off, the fact you helped a stranger is more than suspicious,"
"Well, your Eraserhead--"
"Wait, you knew who I am?". Now not many people know this, but if they do, it is more a piece of information for villains rather than for civilians.
The boy squeaked, which was cute, but he quickly hid it with the usual stoic he always used. The boy picked up his keys that had fallen and slotted one of them in the keyhole.
"Oh, I-i saw some footage from a website and started from there. I do analyze in my-y free time since I have nothing to do anyway," he said sadly.
'The boy must have an intelligent quirk or something related to it then..' he thought, but then he saw that the boy's shoulder slumped a little. Shouta never shows little emotion toward people, but he could see the sadness in the boy's eyes as if he was somewhere but here.
The boy was fumbling with the door while trying to hold Shouta. They managed to get in and be bombarded by furry animals who were cats now batting for attention. Shouta realizes he's in a cafe.
"I'll feed you guys later. I have someone that needs help". They somehow manage to maneuver them without tripping.
When the boy put him down on the couch, he went to find the first aid kit. Shouta can see the boy's face more clearly. The hair mixed between dark green. The freckles covered his face that looked like a star if you alleged it together.
The cats who have been watching the ordeal are staring at Shouta. There was even some wary looking at him. The boy who returned with the first aid kit started grabbing the surgical thread.
"I hope you don't mind, but I need to stitch the wound before it gets an infection. Sorry, but you need to take off your clothes, er-"
"Shouta, my name is Aizawa Shouta,"
"Then call me Izuku!"
Fast forward to what felt like internity of treating his wound, the bo-Izuku helped him to the bathroom to change into comfortable clothes that Izuku gave to him and call if he needed anything. Shouta changed into given clothes, which were huge for the teen.
Meanwhile, he discarded the jumpsuit in a plastic bag Izuku gave to Shouta. He walks out of the room walk to the hallway, the cat he met at the alleyway is now following him.
'Is this from his parents?. Wait, where are his parents anyway? '. He kept walking until he was at the front of the cafe.
When Shouta made it back, he saw the boy putting down coffee on the table with a blanket and pillow. That is now taken over by cats. "Oh, I see your done changing here. I thought you needed a drink," Izuku happily said.
He sat down on the couch and petted the cat that hopped in his lap. "I hope you're not sore because you look like you've been in a running race," he murmured.
"I'm fine, just need rest," he grunted, his neck pressing uncomfortably behind him. Izuku nodded at him and went to the kitchen that Shouta passed, only to re-appear with another pillow, pill, and a phone.
"Here, if you need a painkiller and a phone to call someone," he hands them the items to him.
The coffee he drank was fantastic, and dare he says, he might come here again with his husband.
Speaking of the husband, he dials the number on the phone.
"Hello?" A tired voice comes from the phone, "Hey, Zashi is me-" Before he can speak, a loud voice got to it first.
"Shouta, where are you? do you know what time is it?" He pulls the phone away before his ears ring.
"I'm fine, Zashi. I just got injured, and a boy helped me with my wound,"
" A boy? Where are his parents? Shouldn't they be worried?" his voice settled down.
"I was about to ask him, but I call you first before you do something foolish," he said.
There was a dramatic gasp."I don’t do that!" He responded. Shouta can feel that Hizashi is pouting on the other phone.
"I'll send you the location so you can find me," He told him. He pets the cat that was lying on the pillow he put down.
"I'll make sure to get there. I love you, Shouta," Hizashi said fondly to him.
"I love you too, Zashi," he smiles before ending the call.
When he ended, he looked up to see, Izuku looking at Shouta with wide eyes. "Was that present mic?" Izuku was gleaming when he heard it. Izuku quickly snaps his mouth shut, embarrassed by his ears turning red.
If it was a cartoon show, it might have smoke coming from both ears, from how red his ears are
"Umm, sorry, I-i heard a yell s-so I went to see what w-ro-wrong, you know," his cheek were also going red, and he quickly sprinted out of view from beside the wall. Izuku was just hiding behind the wall.
"Yes, he is. I hope you don't mind him coming here". He drawled a tired sound. He was not surprised the boy figured all that just from the phone. The coffee he was drinking was almost empty, and Izuku, the sweet angel, poured the coffee into the cup; he grunted his thanks.
Now is just a waiting game for Hizashi to get here; Shouta can feel Hizashi just thrown on his jacket and fixing his hair. He hears a door open, revealing Izuku in his pajamas, presume with sweatpants and a t-shirt with kanji on it " Tree " Weird, but he doesn't voice it.
The boy walked toward the plants and watered them. He did it back from where Shouta and the cats are. That was until he grabbed a stool to stand on to water the plant that sat on the shelf.
He didn't doubt that the teen got up there without using something to stand, just telling how short Izuku was. What doubt Shouta was when the teen plucks out a big brown cat from one of the pots that Shouta did not see.
He drank his coffee when he realized that Shouta wanted to talk about something to the kid. "Kid, Where are your parents, aren't they're worried. You brought a stranger into your home?" he started, a worried tone beneath his grumble voice. He decided to question him on what he was doing around midnight.
"My parents left me years ago. I left the apartment because of the bill and found a store that has an apartment," Izuku said as he put down the watering plant and wiped the table like he was talking about the weather.
"Wait they, left you?!?" He said with anger filling his vein. It's not toward Izuku but the parents that left him. Let it not be said Shouta likes and cares for younger children.
"Yeah, they did, it was hard at first, but I managed, you know? I found this store, cleaned it up, and started off the business and gotten money, and I have a class online, so is all good," He said without noticing the expression Shouta was letting out.
"You're a child, your what, 10 12?" he pinched the bridge of his nose, thinking how a parent could do that.
"Hey, I’m 15. For your information, I just haven't got my growth sprout yet,” Izuku squeaks as he feels offended that Shouta comments about his age.
He snorted but felt like there was something he was missing. But, before he can, however. There was a knocking on the door, and Izuku rushed over to open it.
He greets a blonde man with his hair in a messy bun. Izuku waves at him as he is leaning against the door.
"Hello there, little listener you, don't happen to have a grumpy man in here, do you?" He said while smiling mischievously at the boy. Leave it to Hizashi to handle children.
It makes Izuku giggle and nods, showing him where Shouta is sitting. He followed him while the cats who think of Shouta as a heat source lay on him.
When he saw the injuries on Shouta, he couldn't help but wince at it. It looked worse with the bruise, in his opinion.
"What happened to you" Zashi whispered his concern when he inspected his injuries. Izuku started to walk away, sensing the tense atmosphere.
"Just a miscalculation got knocked out before I realized it," he tiredly said.
"That cut looks deep. Shou, are you sure you're alright?"
"If the kid hasn't already thrown out the trash, it could be worse," the cat in his lap started meowing when he stopped petting them.
There was a pause...
"Wait, hold on, why's there a kid doing a chore at night. . .in an alleyway? And where are his parents at this time," he said, trying to confirm what Shouta had said.
"I did ask him, but all I know is th-".Before Shouta continues, Izuku, the little angel that gave them privacy with each other and comes back from the kitchen to hold tea and cookies on a tray. He quietly said to Zashi that it made his throat feel better with tea when he overheard yelling on the phone.
"Why thank little listener," He cooed, and Izuku's face turned red that looked like a strawberry with freckles and his dark green when the light shone upon him. Shouta thought he looked adorable when someone complimented him and, oh no-- He got attached by this little angel.
Hizashi was also on the same page cooing the teen. When the boy shutters a good night at them. Saying they can stay for tonight in the guestroom. While quickly speed walking for the stair, the cats that watch the ping pong compliment ordeal followed Izuku back to his room.
There was silence, all the cats had gone with the teen, so it was just two of them until Zashi spoke. "So the little listener won't mind adoption, does he?"
"You haven't heard what I told you about the situation, and you adopted him on the spot," he grunted fondly, biting the star cookie he got from the tray.
"Well, I see no complaint here, and I can see in your eyes that the kid piqued your interest," he responded while grinning at him.
Shouta was a logical man, but he wouldn't mind having a kid.
