Work Text:

"Fuck him, fuck him and his long legs!"

If you would ask Junmyeon what was going on, he would probably stare at you for a full minute before cursing 'fuck you!' right in your face.

He has been working non-stop since early in the morning and he was supposed to go home now but it's already past 6 o'clock in the evening and he's still in the office.

"Fuck him!" He cursed again. "I'm going to rip his head off of his muscular body and throw it in the nearby river. Fuck him!" He told no one while aggressively typing on his computer keyboard. He didn't mind if he broke it. In fact, he would even gladly shatter it in an instant.

"Did he really think that I have a lot of time in the world?" He particularly asked no one. "Did he think that my world revolves around this fucking work?"

His very thick eyebrows were almost touching each other above his round eyes.

"Fuck him!"

Junmyeon continued making noises by typing viciously while stomping his left foot at the same time. He didn't care if he typed everything wrong. All he wanted now was to finish the fucking report his boss told him to complete within the day when he was about to clock out when the clock striked five.

"I should be resting by now." He sighed heavily.

If this was an anime universe, we would probably see steam coming out of his nose from too much frustration and annoyance.

"And he was this bold to tell me he would fire me if I don't do my job properly?" His endless soliloquy continued.

"Am I supposed to be scared now?" He sarcastically said. "As if he can really do that." He even rolled his eyes because he knew and he's a hundred percent certain that his boss could not and would not do that.

He didn't give a damn if his boss' office was just a few feet away from him. He knew it was locked from the inside anyway so he was certain that the man he was repeatedly cursing since earlier would not hear him or at least would not understand what he was mumbling out.

After some time, he stopped typing, realizing that he didn't know what to write next.

He stared at the monitor, emotionless, eyes blinking simultaneously with the cursor that's constantly flickering in front of him.

The office door of this supervisor that was located on his left side suddenly sprang open, revealing a tall man in a black suit with orange necktie. His shoulders were VERY broad, too, but Junmyeon would not admit that.

No, he wasn't staring.

Definitely, no.

Not at all.

"How is it, Jun?" Junmyeon's face turned red at the endearment. The very fine man, as Junmyeon would describe, who was also his boss, approached him. "Are you done?"

The employee continued typing hurriedly as he felt his boss' presence beside him.

"Not yet, Sir." He politely answered as if he didn't just curse the man. "But it'll be finished in 5 minutes."

"5 minutes." The supervisor repeated.

"Yes, 5 minutes, Sir."

"Alright, then. I'll wait."

Junmyeon observed the man as he took the swivel chair of his office mate and positioned it beside him as he sat on it.

He suddenly became stiff on his spot. Was his boss going to watch him while he's doing the report? No fucking way.

Junmyeon couldn't let the man hear his mini trash talk battle within himself. But most importantly, he couldn't let his boss notice that he could not concentrate whenever he was around.

"Uhm, Sir."

"Yes?" It was just a word, one fucking word, but Junmyeon felt like he was drowning by how deep his supervisor's voice was.

"Uhm, I will just make this quick, Sir. I-I will immediately call you when I'm done. Y-You can go back to your office now, Sir." He was stuttering, but he guessed it was enough to let his boss realize what he was implying.

"Why would I go back to my office?" The superior asked him but not really expecting him to answer. "I'm done with my work. I'm just waiting for the report so that we can send it together." He added.

"I-I will send it myself once I complete it. You can go home, Sir."

"I need to double check it, Jun." Junmyeon once again turned red when he heard his name from the man's mouth.

"I know you. You're careless when you're mad."

"W-What? What mad? Who's mad?" He asked his boss, not looking at him and just randomly typing on his keyboard. It's not really a question but a statement, to be honest.

"You're so cute."

Although he didn't see the face of the taller man, Junmyeon knew that by the sound of his voice when he said his last words, the man was smiling widely.

"Stop."

"Why?" His boss said, grinning.

"Seriously, you need to stop, Mr. Oh."

Mr. Oh shifted his seat nearer, as if he wasn't sitting very close to him a while ago. "I know you're mad."

"It's none of your business." Junmyeon coldly commented.

"It's very much my business, Jun." Mr. Oh answered his non-question remark. "I heard you earlier."

"Y-You heard me?"

"Loud and clear."

"I'm not sorry." Junmyeon sassilly said.

"Jun."

"Look," He faced his boss, not giving him the smile he always gives everyone 90 percent of the time. "I just wanted to go home, alright. I'm tired. If you're planning to double check it from the beginning, then why not just do it yourself?" He said as if he wasn't talking to his superior.

"I just need you to do it."

"Why?"

Seriously, who's the boss here?

"It's your job, dumbo."

"You're calling me what?"

Mr. Oh seemed to panic when he heard what Junmyeon had said. But he's the boss, why would he be terrified? Right?

"I'm sorry, baby."

"You're not allowed to call me baby when you still hand me over documents past working hours." The smaller man said.

"Right." The supervisor sighed in resignation. "You can stop doing that."

"No."

Junmyeon continued where he left off before Mr. Oh joined him earlier.

"It's alright, Jun. You can stop."

"I'm almost done!" With a loud voice, the employee supplied, surprising the man sitting beside him.

Mr. Oh didn't protest but he appeared to be upset.

He stood and brought the swivel chair back to the table of Junmyeon's officemate without saying a single thing. He didn't go back to his office though, nor went to the exit to go home. He just stayed there, standing, probably waiting for his boyfriend to say something.

Junmyeon noticed the cold air that enveloped the whole area where he and his boss were the only people left.

He turned his head to the direction of his boyfriend and he saw how his mood had changed from before.

"Sehun…" Contrary to his mad statement from a while ago, there was this softness when he called the name of his lover, who by the way was avoiding his gaze when he came near the man.

"Se, baby." He stood from his chair and slowly approached the man in a suit. "I'm sorry." He apologetically said.

Oh how the tables have turned.

He held Sehun's hand, hoping it would be enough for him to be forgiven.

When Mr. Oh finally looked at him, Junmyeon noticed that he had this particular loneliness in his eyes.

"Are you sure you're not forgetting something?" He calmly asked Junmyeon.

It made the latter furrowed his brows in confusion.

"W-What? What something?"

Sehun sighed again. "Forget it."

"Wait, what's—"

"You can stop doing the report." The tall man interrupted him. "You can go home now."

Sehun strolled to the exit and was ready to ride a lift when Junmyeon quickly followed him.

"Wait!"

If Sehun wasn't in love with the small man, he would have hastily pushed the elevator button and never turned his back.

"Are you not going to tell me what's going on?" Junmyeon asked while showing his pair of puppy eyes that he knew Sehun could not resist.

He was right because as soon as Sehun noticed that he was about to cry, he sauntered up to Junmyeon.

"Do you really not know what day today is?" He softly asked Junmyeon while gently caressing his puffy cheeks that were now red because it's Sehun, okay? Junmyeon would always blush when it comes to his boyfriend.

The smaller employee slowly shook his head no. You can't really blame him. He has a short-term memory.

"It's our monthsary, baby."

Junmyeon's face turned into stone and his mouth formed an O shape.

"Today is the 10th?" He curiously asked in disbelief. "I-I thought it's just the 8th."

"Baby, that was 2 days ago."

"No, I—" Junmyeon took the hand of his boyfriend that was still on his cheeks and caressed it softly. "I'm sorry, baby. I-I really forgot. Oh my god. I'm sorry."

"Shh, it's okay." Sehun assured him. "It's okay, baby."

"But why didn't you greet me earlier this morning? You always greet me first thing in the morning before you do anything else." He sulked as if he wasn't at fault, making his boyfriend the bad guy for the nth time that day.

"I was planning to surprise you."

"S-Surprise?"

Sehun just nodded.

"But you hate surprises."

"But you love them. And I love you. So I don't care if they're cringey for me." Sehun supplied.

Junmyeon felt like melting then and there. Sehun didn't really fail to make his heart flutter and the butterflies in his stomach to go crazy.

"I'm sorry I ruined your plan, whatever that is."

If Sehun wasn't still sulking a little bit, he would kiss the pout in his boyfriend's lips as he said his sorry.

"Not really." Sehun looked at his wrist watch. "It's just 10 minutes before 7. We still have time." He pointed out.

"What did you plan?" Junmyeon, who was still sorry, curiously asked.

"Well, nothing fancy. Just dinner. For the two of us."

"Is that why you asked me to do that stupid report beyond working hours?"

"Yeah."

"I hate you." Junmyeon rolled his eyes.

"You love me." Sehun countered him.

"No. I hate you."

"I don't want you to go home right away, okay?" Sehun explained. "Because I know that once you stick your back on the bed, you wouldn't dare to get back up."

"Okay, you beat me on that." The smaller man said defeatedly. "But why the report?"

Okay, it seemed like he's not yet done guilt-tripping his boss slash his boyfriend.

"You could've locked me in your office or in the restroom, I don't care, but why make me do that stupid report? My head was spinning looking for the appropriate words to say." He cutely protested as if it would change anything.

"Well, I don't want to lock you in the restroom, let's start at that." Sehun emphasized. He couldn't believe what Junmyeon just suggested. "And I want you to do work related stuff so that you would not suspect me of preparing for the dinner."

The pout of Junmyeon's face was still evident and Sehun couldn't take it anymore he left a quick peck on it.

"Sehun!"

"I'm not Mr. Oh?" He joked.

"I'm not doing the report anymore so you're not my boss now. You're my boyfriend now, who prepared dinner for our monthsary today."

"Well it's just a simple dinner date. As I said, nothing fancy."

"Nope. You're wrong. Everything with you is fancy. You," Junmyeon pointed at his boyfriend. "plus dinner equals perfect." He added while doing the chef's kiss gesture. "Let's go, I'm hungry from doing that report." Emphasizing the word 'that' , he held Sehun's arms and was ready to guide his boyfriend to the elevator when the latter spoke.

"But I have a better idea now."

Junmyeon quickly turned to him. "What's a better idea than us filling up our empty stomachs now? Huh?"

The elevator door opened. The two of them went in.

"What if I make you my dinner instead?" The supervisor said smirking as both of his eyebrows danced up and down.

"Alright, I'm finishing the report now, Mr. Oh. Have fun with dinner."

Junmyeon pushed the open button as quickly as possible but he was too late because the door swiftly closed right in front of him.

And there, in the mirror of the elevator door, he saw how his boyfriend smirked from his back, looking like a hungry lion that was ready to take his feast.

Maybe Junmyeon needed to say sorry in another way.
