Chapter Text
Mo Guanshan’s pov
***
‘How does it feel to be rich?’
Technically, I’m rich but I don’t know how to answer that question in some aspects.
My parents are in the top of the Chinese restaurant industry, they are one of the richest couples in my country, and I’m their son. As the head of a big corporation, they manage various services and run many restaurants across China under their name and of course, that brings them fortune.
Mom and dad are amazing, even under the cut-throat competition in the industry, that didn’t stop them to make their dreams come true. Now they run an incredible business! They succeeded, and more than that, the Mo family become one of the most famous and wealthy people among celebrities. We play an important role and have a strong influence in our society.
However, no one knows that I’ll be the future heir of the family business. Unlike other children born in a wealthy family, they raised me differently. Usually, everyone would know who will be the future heir of a large company like my parents have. But when my mom was pregnant of me, she took two years out of the company to hide her belly and take care of me. My parents made sure no one knew my existence. I am still impressed how they hid me from the media all this time without being exposed.
Few weeks after I was born, dad and mom entrusted me to my guardian, Qiu Ge, and I grew up under his wings. At first he was assigned as a bodyguard by my parents but later he become their confident right hand and is now like a part of the family. Qiu Ge is like a big brother and a precious friend to me, although he mainly covers the role of my father and my guardian.
That situation didn’t mean I could no longer stay in touch with my parents any more; I just don’t live together with them, they’re just so cautious I don’t even doubt someone knows my existence as their son, except Qiu Ge and our personal doctors who assisted to my birth! They are trustworthy people so we have no worries about any leak of informations.
My parents want me to have a peaceful life during my growth, so they kept me away from the world of celebrities. People wouldn’t probably understand why my parents raise me that way, if they also want me to live a normal life, they could just not become very rich and run a normal restaurant like others! When I was still a child, I asked that question too; and later I found the reason.
Because of their business, they can give and provide many great opportunities to others! Many people need them and since my parents are that kind of people, they really want to help other people as they can. My current situation doesn’t bother me either, so why other people should be worried in the first place?
Being the child of a famous and wealthy couple have their cons too. Now, I do not have to worry about my life privacy. I don’t have to stand the hypocrite ones, just being around you because of your social status. And mostly, my return in the business will be memorable. I also think it’s better for me to be an independent and stronger adult before entering the business world.
Since then, I basically live with tricked papers. I’m known as Qiu Guanshan, not Mo Guanshan. I can’t just keep my real family name everywhere I go, it will be odd if I’m already a natural redhead like my mother, which is very rare in China, but also have the name of the Mo family. So I just keep living with my ginger hair and luckily no one got curious about it.
Now I live in a moderate apartment with my guardian as normal citizens. We didn’t live a luxurious life but we also didn’t lack of anything since my parents help us financially and never neglect us. They even enrol me into a cooking club where I can practice my cooking skills because I enjoy it, I guess it’s in the family.
Brother Qiu is monitoring me too so I won’t walk into the business without any fundamental basis later. I want to be a proficient boss on the first place not because dad and mom indulge it to me, but I want to keep the track of what my parents built, and it’s my own will.
Since I live my life peacefully as an ordinary teenager without anyone knowing my real situation. No one can recognize me and knows about my real identity so I can go to high school without worries, make good friends who’s true to me, and I can learn some knowledge too I guess.
I am in my last year in high school now. I also remember the first time I entered elementary school, I noticed that people are actually scared of my guardian. Due to the fact that Qiu Ge always has those kind of scary glares, people have a very bad impression of him. He told me to ignore those who just judge a person by their appearance and let them be.
I know that he always wants the best for me. But since I was that proud and short-tempered person, I didn’t like people talking shits under the back of the ones I care. That’s why I didn’t let go those kind of people so easily. Qiu Ge sure really had a tough time raising a stubborn brat like me.
Starting from that day, I became a very grumpy and intimidating guy. People usually said: “Like father like son!” even though Qiu Ge wasn’t my real dad. Because of that, it was hard for me to integrate my classroom since then and even sometimes I was getting involved with a fight I didn’t even want to, it looks like I became a magnet of troubles...
Even my friends in elementary school started being afraid of me, I can’t be helped and I might do not care! Of course that didn’t stop me to make friends, and I’m glad they’re true friends I can trust and are good people. They’re Jian Yi and Zhan Zheng Xi, my best childhood friends. We were never separated and always went to the same school, and in the right time I will tell them about my situation.
