Chapter Text
The weather was quite upsetting on one of the most promising days of Narutos young life. It fell without purpose from darkened clouds staining the soles of his pristine sneakers. Naruto however, didn't let this linger in his golden haired head any loner as he trudged on determined to arrive at the destination of every teenagers dreams. Dorms.
Except there was one itsy problem. Naruto was more than an hour late. Totally Not a good first impression of the Academy whom generously offered Naruto a scholarship to and the roommate he'd have to be acquainted with. Who could it be? Neij? Gaara? Even bothersome bushy brows (Lee)? Naruto certainly felt like being happy with about anyone to atone to his tardiness on the first day during a bleak/showering September.
The boys whos hair looked like a cat just nagged at it marched up the slippery steps of an enormous and wildly elegant building before spotting another disappointment with his little furry friend walking anxiously back and forth. Kiba!
"Hey!" Naruto breathed out. "Why are you-"
"NARUTO!" Kiba practically screamed causing his dog to bark even louder. "Boy am i glad to see your fox face! Listen, no time for chitchat, Akamaru and I are victims of persecution." Naruto frowned. He didn't like when Kiba called him that, but the corny canine insults Naruto brilliantly teased him with over the years made up for that.
"Okay dog breath, spit it out? I'm in a hurry too!" He bent down petting Akamaru lightly earning him a soft cuddle in response. Kiba knelt down as well putting a hand to Naruto's ear.
"The school adminis-turd or whatever told me I'm not allowed a room because 'NO DOGS ALLOWED' apparently!" Kiba exclaimed like it was shocking news, "And that my having a dog could potentially 'harm those allergic'. Screw them right?!"
"Yeah screw them and their medical concerns!" Naruto laughed rolling his eyes as Kiba grinned. How his friend managed to sound dumber than him never failed to amaze. "Okay c'mon, u reek like wet dog!" Naruto pulled on his friends arm dragging him through the towering doors that offered them shelter and hope from the descending drizzle.
Once inside the safe haven, Naruto and Kiba both stood frozen in awe at the beautiful interior; luxurious curtains that swept the hardwood floors, a spiraling staircase with stunning engraved designs and the magnificent logo of the academy plastered right before them hovering over their heads. Were they really to be so lucky to live in this palace for something as trivial as school?
"Woah dude." Kiba said breaking them from a trance.
"I know." The friends walked side by side to the head desk as Kiba hid Akamaru in his shirt looking left to right frantically. Oh that's right, Naruto remembered Hinata telling him over the phone on something about the students having to wear godawful uniforms! Most things really are too perfect to be undeceiving. "Hey idiot, what room number do you have? Mine is 266."
"Hmm too bad. I got 73. You're lucky, anything over 200 is the top floor."
"Lucky huh?.."
Naruto waved goodbye to Kiba as he insisted on protesting to the lady at the front desk on something about letting his dog be his roommate. He clutched his newly given keys and began up the never-ending steps already aware of his lateness.

His keys jangled in his hands over a grand door that read "Room 266", unsure whether he should knock or not. Naruto gulped any anxiety down his throat. He had nothing to get so worked up over, whoever was across the door was probably in the same situation. He moved his tiring hand and tentatively twisted the menacing lock open. Just then, the door swung open causing him to stumble forward right into a boy with a bewildered look on his face. It took Naruto a moment too long to realize who exactly that flustered face belonged to, just as their faces were mere inches apart. Naruto then jerked himself back creating as much distance as humanly possible, all the while suppressing every single sign of surprise.
The boy with perfect jet black hair and even darker eyes layered with long, thick lady-like lashes sneered at Naruto like a bug. He wore an expensive leather jacked paired with loose fitted jeans over sneakers possibly worth more than the all the gold centerpieces downstairs! This was most indefinitely the wealthy and snobby prodigy, Sasuke Uchiha.
Naruto trailed his eyes back up only to meet a glare that made his soul shiver.
"Hey, uh Sasuke right?" Naruto asked, his heart beating unnecessarily fast as he let out an awkward laugh. "I know, I should've knocke-"
"Get," he spoke in that of a voice that immediately made Naruto's gaze falter and fall "the hell out of my way." Naruto was practically jammed up against the wall now and after a few brief footsteps he was gone, no trace left of the emo freak that could prove he had been there at all. Naruto shut his eyes and let out a sorrowful sigh for how cruel fate had been today.
Sasuke Uchiha was my roommate. Nu-uh no way is that ever happening.
