Summary
As she entered the ICU room, she felt like a punch had knocked the air out of her chest. Maggie was lying on a bed, intubated and with a bunch of wires connecting her to a monitor. Seeing Maggie hurt like that had almost broken her and she couldn’t help the tears that fell as she took Maggie’s hand into hers. After so many years apart, Alex never even dreamed about seeing Maggie again, but even if she had, surely this wouldn’t have been the circumstances she would have expected.
This is the story of how Maggie and Alex find their way back together five years after the breakup, and after rebuilding their lives away from each other.
