Chapter Text
8 AM
They fumbled with their keys, trying to fit every one of them into the door. Normally, this task would be effortless. That is if it wasn't for one of Tasque manager's lost cats wandering into their backyard. They groaned just thinking about the effort it took to return that cat. They slid the last key into the door which responded with a clicking sound, finally. They reached out and flicked the lights.
The cafe was brighter than they remembered. After quickly bringing their wing above their squinted eyes, they stumbled to the back and slid the bag off their shoulder. CRASH!!
What the hell was that??? They looked around in surprise before catching their eyes on the kitchen entrance.
Must be another maus infestation. They reached down into their bag looking for- aha! They started to dial the pest control number although it was hard to recall.
"Ah yes, hello?" They started, pushing aside their sleepiness. The voicemail cut them off. Guess it's too early. They slowly made their way to the kitchen. It was hard to make anything out but they knew the place like the back of their wing.
"AH!!"
The screech startled them as they tripped forward. Swiftly turning, their eyes adapted and the figure started to form. Wait was that-
"Spamton?"
"UH UH,, [squeak] ??"
Oh god, not again. They flipped the light switch and grabbed the back of the puppet's coat.
"HEY, H3Y !! HANDS [50% off all merchandise] PAL!"
They paid no mind to the incoherent yelling and headed towards the door.
"Y-YOU CANT JUST TOSS ME OUT [[ like yesterdays lunch ]]!!!"
...
"PLEASE SWATCH,,"
Swatch glared down at him angrily.
"Why are you here Spamton?"
No response.
They sighed and brought their attention back to the path.
"You know you can't be here, please don't make this difficult again." They warned.
Spamton's struggle ended and the rest of the walk was silent. Swatch set him down. They couldn't help but feel pity for the poor creature. Why worry about it though? He can't stay here, Queen's orders. Plus, there was no way they would let this man into their house.
"WAIT-"
Before the words could even come out, Swatch was gone, and he was alone again.
Swatch made their way back around the corner and into the kitchen. What kind of business would Spamton have in the cafe anyways? He hasn't been welcome in who knows how long. They peered down to notice a pile of trash on the clean white floor. Had Spamton been there for that? The trash was taken out just the other day, he couldn't have gotten much in reward. They bent down to clean the mess.
What had happened to that little Addison they had known before? He had always shown up before closing, at its quietest, and ordered the butler juice. They recall staring at the front door awaiting his arrival. Drink prepared, soothing music, warm lights, then finally, the chime of the door. The two of them would go on about random topics until closing. How their day was, new tv shows, whatever came to mind. Whatever it was, Swatch looked forward to every bit of it.
Eh, maybe it was routine. After all, the bird loved schedules. They knew Spamton would be there every night. It was predictable, something far from what the current Spamton is.
Before they knew it, they had finished all their chores and the swatchlings piled in. They were dressed in varying hues, forming a whole rainbow. Of course, asking for orders from their exhausted boss.
