his eyes.
that was what caught your attention. or could it be his white hair? no. it was probably his laugh, right? or maybe it was the way he effortlessly curled his fingers around the coffee cup, bringing it up to meet his lips. no. it was when he asked what your name was, complimenting your eyes, and stealing your time.
satoru stole your attention.
months passed. the air grew colder and the days got shorter. “just admit that you’re cold,” satoru teased while rubbing the back your hand with his thumb. “no, because that means you were right,” you answered back, trying to hide the tremble in your voice. satoru didn’t say anything. in fact, he stopped walking alongside you. you stopped, wondering what your boyfriend was thinking, doing. “‘toru?” he didn’t respond. he turned you around and wrapped his arms around your waist, resting his head on your head. “do you think we would trip if we walk like this?” you could feel his chest moving up and down on your back, as his laughter filled your ears.
satoru stole your moment.
“good morning, baby,” satoru’s sleepy voice caught your attention. you were already up for an hour or so, aimlessly scrolling on your phone, not wanting to get up from the bed. not wanting to wake up your fiancé. “wanna know my favourite thing is?” he asked, pulling you towards his chest. he didn’t wait for you to answer back. “my favorite thing is waking up next to you. waking up next to the love of my life,” satoru placed a kiss on your lips between each word. his thumb caressed the apples of your cheeks. you stared at his eyes. your vision became blurry. “baby? what’s wrong?” satoru’s voice was worried. he didn’t expect his future spouse to cry at his words, at his gestures. “i just don’t want this to end,” you answered truthfully. satoru sighed in relief and gently shook his head. “it will never end. don’t you know?” “know what?” “know that i am helplessly in love with you.”
satoru stole your heart.
as you walked towards your daughter’s room, you could hear your husband’s voice loud and clear. satoru was telling her his favourite fairy tale. it was the one that his daughter always requested before going to sleep. he didn’t leave out any details, acting out all the gestures, dressing up for the parts. your daughter’s laughter filled the room. neither of them noticed when you opened the door, wanting to see your husband’s acting skills. your daughter’s eyes were getting heavier and heavier as the story came to an end. “goodnight, princess,” satoru softly said as he tucked her into bed. “why do you keep telling her the story of the day we met?” you asked while closing the bedroom door. “what do you mean? the king in my story is nowhere near as hot as me,” your husband said with a smirk on his face. satoru picked you up, placing a kiss on your lips. “let’s go to bed, my love.”
satoru stole your love.
and you stole his.
