Pranking Deku is a No.

Summary:

Class 1-A planning to prank Izuku on his birthday but before doing so, they asked Bakugou about his opinion because obviously, he's the one who knows Deku best.

They were hoping for his cooperation, even if it's aggressive—only to be shocked when he rejected the idea STRONGLY.

"It's just a prank, blasty!" Mina insisted.

Uraraka nodded and said, "We just want to surprise deku-kun!"

Katsuki threw them his usual glare. "I said no. Fuck off."

"C'mon, man! We're just gonna pretend that we're angry at him for one day! That's it!"

Tch, typical prank.

"That's the best thing you can think of as a surprise? If yes, then stop bothering me."

"I don't think pranking Midoriya-kun is a good idea either," Tenya butted in and for the first time, he and Katsuki were on the same page.

"Hah. At least someone here got half of my brain."

Denki furrowed his brows and looked at the two of them. "But it's Midoriya, right? It'll be fine."

Katsuki's head snapped harshly in the other blonde's direction. "How the fuck fo you even define fine?"

"I mean, it's Deku-ku—"

"Deku, the shitnerd, who has fucktons of insecurities that will most probably get fed when you start ignoring him? That fucking dweeb will absolutely overthink every second of that day and will blame himself for non-existent mistakes and faults like the stupid thing he is.

"And you still wanna keep this shitty prank that your dumb asses are so proud of?" He scoffed and stood up. "Don't even think of talking to me until you finally have a decent fucking plan." Then he left, leaving the class in silence.

Meanwhile, Izuku just came back to the common room when he felt the odd aura in there.

"Did something happen?" he asked innocently, making everyone turn to him.

Mina was the first one to answer. "Deku, do you get mad when people ignore you?"

The greenete blinked. What's with that?

"I don't...?" he replied.

The class exchanged glances while Iida shook his head as if he wanted to say something to them.

Confused, Izuku asked, "Why? What's up?"

They all smiled. "No! Nothing!"

"Okay...?" he responded. "Then I'll be going back to my room now. Goodnight, everyone!"

When he finally left, Denki spoke. "Maybe we should at least try?"

"No, we shouldn't. You heard Bakugou-kun earlier. Everything he said sounded plausible," Iida chided.

"Sounded. We can throw a party after the prank. It might help Deku-kun!"

Shoto said, "I agree with Iida, Bakugou might be right."

And before they knew it, the class already got divided into two.

"To each of their own."

"But if everything happens as Bakugou said, it'll be troublesome."

"D'ya think Bakugou-kun has tried it before?"

"Maybe—"

"Him pranking Midoriya as a surprise? Kinda unbelievable."

"Though, he might've already pulled a prank like this before."

"Just- Let's just try okay?"

The night ended with them parting ways, thinking of their plans for Izuku's birthday the day after tomorrow.

Morning came with the freckled man rambling about his new gloves. He was glowing like usual and it made them feel bad…

But it had to be done. It's a surprise, after all.

"Yeah! Hatsume-san upgraded my gloves! It's actually cool and interesting how she thought of adding—"

"Midoriya," Eijirou interrupted.

He looked like he wanted to say something so Izuku immediately stopped. "Hm?" he hummed.

Mina smiled awkwardly before saying, "Don't you think... You talk a little too much?"

HIs mouth slightly hung open. Oh.

Katsuki's glare was quick. "Fucking—" He stood up and walked aggressively towards them.

When Izuku saw Kacchan, he immediately blocked the way. He didn't understand why the blonde acted like that but after seeing him blow up on lots of occasions, he knew when to act and stop him.

"S-Sorry, Ashido-san! I was just too caught up with my new equipment." He stuttered, hands rubbing his nape.

Katsuki frowned but he didn't say anything when the freckled man smiled at him. Instead, he looked at the class and glared at them.

These idiots...

The day passed with nothing but Izuku stuttering and smiling awkwardly. And what frustrated Katsuki was that it always happened when he's not around. He goes to the bathroom for a minute, he comes back only to see Deku forcing a smile. He goes to the kitchen to drink? Izuku's face got gloomier.

The fuckers know what they're doing.

But every time he's about to blow up the shitheads, the nerd keeps stopping him which only made him angrier.

It was when he was inside his room, cursing to himself when he heard soft knocks on his door.

He clicked his tongue and went to open the door. "Who the fuck's still up at this..." He was greeted by Izuku's weak smile. "...hour."

"H-Hi, Kacchan!" It was dark but Katsuki could tell that the nerd was trying his best not to fucking cry right then and there.

Without saying anything, he grabbed Izuku's wrist and pulled him inside. Then, he pushed him down to his bed and stood in front of him, hands resting in his pockets. "So?" he grunted, not even beating around the bush.

Izuku fidgeted and avoided his eyes. "Uhh..." He gulped. "Did I do something bad? Something that I might've not noticed?" He looked at Kacchan with a pained expression and Katsuki— Right then, Katsuki felt like he could commit a crime against the whole class.

He took a deep breath 'coz he fucking needed it or else he'd go crazy. "You—" He ran a hand over his face. "You didn't do anything wrong, Deku."

A tear fell down the greenete's eyes.

"Then why," His voice cracked. "why is everyone- I don't know, why are they acting that way?" His shoulder started to tremble and fuck it. "I just—"

Katsuki sat beside him and crossed his arms. "Use your brain shitnerd. Get those gears working. Why do you think this is happening all so suddenly?" He asked, his voice stern and steady that Izuku felt obliged to do as said. Izuku visibly panicked and blinked his eyes several times, having no time to think while Katsuki's gaze only dug deeper holes at him. "I said, use that brain."

It was harsh but Izuku knew that Kacchan meant it in a good way. He was trying to calm him down and his presence and words never failed.

He closed his eyes and let his mind wander when he realized something. "Y-Yesterday," he uttered. The blonde raised a brow at him and hummed, urging him to continue, so he added, "Ashido-san asked me if I'd get mad if people started ignoring me."

Katsuki's eyes widened for a moment as his fist clenched. "She asked what?!" Izuku raised his palms between them, trying to calm him down which seemed to do the trick. Katsuki sucked his breath. "What did you say?" The greenete pursed his lips and looked away, not responding. "You said no." Katsuki stated, not even an ounce of hesitation in his voice.

The smaller man scratched his cheek. "Yeah... I think I did."

Katsuki groaned and without any warning, he slapped Deku's head, earning a yelp from him. "Kacchan!"

"You're fucking stupid," he spouted. "Why are you stupid?" Izuku couldn't help but chuckle when he repeated his own words. "So? Next stage, you dweeb. What do you think happens next after that? And make it fast, my sleep can't fucking wait and you know that."

Oh yeah. Kacchan sleeps around 9pm and it's already 10. Why was he awake in the first place?

Izuku's hand moved to touch his chin while the blonde only stared at him, feeling a little bit smug because he knew that Deku's brain runs miles whenever he looks like that. Soft mutters came next, earning a grin from him.

That's how it should be. That's how Deku should be.

Suddenly, Izuku's eyes brightened up as he looked up to Kacchan.

Seems like he found his answer.

"They're pranking me!" he exclaimed. He looked so proud of his discovery rather than the fact itself. He seemed so happy that Katsuki almost went along with his energy. Almost.

"Hah. Took you so long. Would've kicked you out of this room had you not realize that," he replied as rudely as ever but the other man only shrugged it off.

"Why though?" Izuku asked, curiosity filling his eyes.

Katsuki smirked. Good. All it took was to get the dweeb's brain cells to work in order to stop him from sulking.

"What's today's date, Deku?" he asked, trying to give a hint.

Izuku looked at him, confused at the random question. "Wednesday?"

"TODAY'S DATE, IDIOT."

"Oh!" Izuku laughed. "July 14, I think. Why?"

Katsuki put his hands behind his head and lied down. "Then it's 15 tomorrow." He glanced at the freckled man and he felt his patience shorten when he saw Deku looking at him even more confused. "For fuck's sake, Deku! Did you really come out of Auntie's uterus just to be this dumb?"

And Deku had the audacity to look offended. "Hey!" But then, he stopped. "Oh."

"Oh?"

"It's my birthday," he blurted out like it was nothing. "They're pranking me as a surprise."

The blonde scoffed. "Did you like it?"

Izuku gave a wobbly smile and scratched the back ot his head. "I don't think so..."

"Hah. Knew it. Never been wrong about you."

The greenete's face flushed red at the statement. "W-What do you mean?"

A delight. Seeing Deku blushing was such a delight.

"Told them how your dumb ass would react. And was I wrong? No." He sat up and slightly leaned forward. "Have I ever been wrong, Deku?" His voice came out deeper than intended, causing the freckled man to become redder than he already was.

Izuku's breath hitched at the small distance between them. "K-Kacchan, what are you—"

"I asked first, Deku."

Izuku slowly backed away but it only made Katsuki's grin grow wider as he closed the gap between them. Somehow, Izuku ended up trapped against the bed's headboard with Katsuki's arms on each side of his head. They were too… close. Their faces were too close from each other.

"I-I mean, yeah, you're always right, Kacchan," Izuku said nervously as his knees started to tremble.

However, judging the way he clenched his jaw, Kacchan seemed unsatisfied by his answer. "Why?" he whispered.

"Why???"

"Why do you think I'm always right when it comes to you?"

Izuku's eyebrows furrowed. What in the world is up with Kacchan?! Why is he looking at him like... Like he wants to say something that would probably make him want to melt and vanish from this world?!

He smiled sheepishly. "'Coz you're observant?"

Katsuki slapped his face, frustrated. "You know what, birthday boy? You're dumb. How did you even reach your 17th birthday when you're like this?"

It was Izuku's turn to feel frustrated. "Like what? Like what Kacchan?" he dared. Even he is getting confused! "How the hell was he supposed to know what he's trying to say?! He's the one who's acting so weird!"

"I'm not fucking weird!" Katsuki snapped.

Oops, Izuku actually said those out loud.

"It's just... Ugh, fuck you, Deku," he grumbled but it was soft. Too soft.

Izuku softened when he saw how he struggled saying what he wanted to tell. "Kacchan, I don't understand what's going on," he admitted.

Katsuki only granted him a roll of eyes. "Right, 'coz you're dense as a damn rock. Stupid and oblivious to the fault."

"Now, you're insulting me."

Silence ensued for a moment while the blonde looked down and hid his face—something he always did when he did not want to look vulnerable.

He heaved a sigh like he was contemplating something.

"Kacch—" Izuku blinked and suddenly, the blonde's face was just a few inches away from him.

And he knew he couldn't be wrong when he saw the deep blush spreading across Kacchan's face.

Katsuki nuzzled his nose. "Figure it out and I'll explain," he whispered.

Before Deku could even react, he was now pulled closer, aggressive and soft lips touching his. It was shocking but it didn't take him long to respond, moving his own mouth and grabbing his hair.

Their hands sought something to hold as they both drowned their breath. And when they felt something warm against their skin, they knew it was right.

They sought, and look at what they found?

Each other.

Clothes were grabbed, skin flushed against skin. It was deep but there were no hidden intentions. Every word was laid on each of their syncing movement until they separated, both panting and searching each other's eyes.

Green met red.

"W-Wow..." Izuku tried to catch his breath. "Kacchan, why—"

"Would you like me to do it again so 'til you stop asking why?" Katsuki retorted.

"NO!" Deku stopped. "I-I mean, yes?" His face went unbelievably red after that, earning a smirk from the other man.

He paused. "Is this a birthday gift?"

"You can say so."

"Just a birthday gift then."

"Drop the fucking just!" Katsuki slapped his face, not as strong as his previous slaps but it definitely hurt.

"Okay, okay!" Izuku surrendered, rubbing his cheek. "So... What now?"

Katsuki looked away. It was only then that his actions started dawning at him. It was certainly not his intention to kiss the nerd. He only planned to console him after seeing him like that. But he's not gonna take that back now, especially when it was clear that they both liked it.

"I initiated it. Your turn for a damn response."

Despite knowing that Deku didn't stop him, he still felt nervous. Who knows what things are going on in the nerd's mind? He speaks miles a minute and his brain runs faster than that, formulating even the most impossible possibilities.

"I..." Izuku paused and held his breath.

Every second that passed only made Katsuki feel like he's on the brink of death.

"I don't think I can, Kacchan."

His heart dropped. "W-What do you mean?"

Did he get it all wrong?

Izuku panicked when he saw Kacchan's expression and he shook his head aggressively. "A-Ah! No I didn't mean it that way! I-I like you too! Very much, I swear!"

The blonde's forehead creased, his anger bubbling up to conceal something that he didn't want to show. "Just get straight to the point, dammit!"

Emerald eyes stared at him, hesitating. "It's just I can't," he started. "I can't, Kacchan. I'm afraid."

He's afraid.

Katsuki bit his lip. He gets it. He knew how Deku fears to lose things he valued. "Then—"

"Let me finish first!" Izuku said, cutting him off. He breathed sharply and said, "Just because I can't doesn't mean I won't."

The fuck?

Katsuki looked at him in disbelief, beginning to understand what he meant. He wiped his tears, annoyed. "You could've said that first!" he shouted.

Izuku opened his mouth, but then closed it. "Okay, yeah. Sorry," he replied timidly. "But the point is yes, Kacchan."

Katsuki would've celebrated if the nerd didn't just make him ride a roller coaster of emotions in just a span of an hour. He hissed, "You suck at explanations."

"So do you," the freckled man rebutted. "I was literally as clueless as you are earlier."

"What's this? Petty revenge?"

"No, it's not!"

"Doesn't sound a damn bit convincing."

"Kacchan!"

Katsuki grinned as the other man whined 'til his gaze fell on the clock. He flinched when he saw the time.

Without even saying anything, he stood up, pulled Izuku and kicked him out of his room. Slamming the door between them, he heard Izuku's surprised gasp. "Kacchan?!" The greenete shouted from the outside.

"I told you that my sleep can't fucking wait."

Izuku was shocked but he couldn't say that he didn't expect it. It felt stupid, honestly. "It's my birthday, you know?!" he said. When he didn't receive any response from the blonde, he started to walk away while giggling at their silly interaction.

And Katsuki only chuckled to himself. "Happy birthday, dweeb."

Notes:

I put this one in my compilation but I figured that I don't want it to be called short just bcoz so yep, I separated it.
