Work Text:
Sam does like Jessica’s ideas. She always knows the best places to go out and they had many great nights. And he’s sure tonight is gonna be awesome too, but he already has glitter on his clothes and he’s already picturing himself finding them in places he’d rather not have full of glitter.
He tries to scrape off a flake of red glitter on his finger. It stubbornly stays stuck on his skin. He better accept his fate.
The hostess announces a break and they stretch their legs by going to the bar to take more drinks.
Sam nearly spills his when he spins too fast and bumps into someone.
“Sorry !”
“No harm. You can bump into me anytime you want big guy. ” A deep voice flirts.
His eyes are blue. A pale blue, that he can meet by lifting his eyes just a bit -that doesn’t happen often, Sam is taller than most people – circled with dark make-up and thick fake lashes. There’s also fake blood coming out his eyes and running down his cheeks. Blond loose curls fall on his shoulders and he can see the tip of black high heels under the robe he’s wearing.
He’s already gone by the time Sam.exe reboots itself.
“Oh my god ! This is Miss Tea !” Jessica squeals.
“She won that beauty pageant last year, right ?” Brady says, and Sam had no idea his friend knew the first thing about drag queens, let alone which one won whatever contest.
On the stage, the show goes on with a tall, sequin-clad drag queen is singing – well she’s doing playback, which for some reason is called lip-sync from what Sam gathered – flicking her long hair and showing off a lot dark and shiny skin.
It’s the first time Sam sees drag queens in real life. He can’t say he saw one on TV either. He knows what it is but that’s it. But he’s having a good time. The performers are interesting, funny and impressive.
They clap and whistle as Miss Tea bows and winks at the public, shaking her fake breasts.
“And now, in his signature look, she will make you fall and burn in Hell, it’s Lucy Morningstar !”
It’s the blond he bumped into. The song begins with just a light on his face and Sam can’t take his eyes off him. His stomach is fluttering and he can’t think clearly. There’s just something about him and his eyes, that makes Sam want more.
Then the song gets more upbeat and the stage is illuminated as Lucy spreads huge white wings and removes the robe hiding them to reveal a red leather harness and boots laced up to heaven. The audience shouts and claps along, while his body moves in a way that makes Sam wish he were wearing larger pants. He can’t focus on the lyrics but the story is clear and the wings end up on the floor, while plays with a rubber snake.
He’s confused and horny and smitten. Lucy is gorgeous. Then his prayers might have been heard because the angel gets off the stage and comes to him, sliding into his lap and singing about damnation. He doesn’t dare to move a finger, but doesn’t seem to care about his problem, rubbing against his erection and licking his ear, taking a second to whisper a few words to him.
“Wait for me after the show ?”
He delicately places his hands on the blond’s hips (he might not actually be blond, now that he’s thinking of it) and nods. Then his lap is empty and Lucy is back on stage for the last seconds of performance.
The show ends and the three of them end up chatting with the first performer, a drag king who did a stand-up and who’s actually in the same college than them. Sam keeps sending glances around, because went outside but still didn’t come back.
“Rebecca, you have to come ! The cops are taking Lucy !” Someone shouts.
“What the fuck ? What happened ?” A tiny woman jumps out of her seat and storms outside.
“Oh, did he fight with someone again ?” Hayley – the drag king – says, concern in their voice.
“Does it happen often ? ”
Hayley sighs.
“It happens often that people come bother us if we’re outside dressed like that. Lucy doesn’t hold back her punches and the cops aren’t gonna take our side of the story. Sorry, I’ll go see Rebecca. See you on the campus ! ”
It’s hectic, and Sam doesn’t want to bother them now. He can always ask later about him if he wants to see him again. He hopes he’s alright.
Dean laughs a lot when he comes to see Sam at his dorm. He stops only when Sam pours glitter on him -he bought a tube, they were selling them at the event.
He doesn’t tell his brother about .
They go to the mall because Dean absolutely wants to buy some overpriced coffee and waffles. Sam nearly spills his coffee on someone because once again he goes too fast. He really has to stop doing that.
“You again ? I’m gonna begin to think you’re trying to ruin my clothes on purpose.”
He blinks.
“Who are you ?”
It takes him a second to recognize the blue eyes he’s staring into, this time by looking down a bit.
“Lucy.”
“Fer.”
“What ?”
“Real name is Lucifer. Glad to bump into you. Again.”
“That… still sounds like a stage name. I’m Sam. ”
There’s a bit of blue around his eye. If he looks up closely, it’s slightly swollen.
“Oh, are you okay ? What happened ?”
“Did I smudge it again ? I swear, I can’t wear make-up properly if not on stage. Uh, yeah, nothing new, just a jerk, just a night at the police station. Sorry, I made you wait.”
He shakes his head at the blond’s apology, smiling.
“Hum, can I give you my number ? ”
“Course big guy. ”
They swap phones and Lucifer sends him a flirtatious look. He can feel his ears burn. His heart nearly stops when the blond presses a kiss on his cheek before giving him his phone back and leaving.
Dean barely noticed he was away, munching on his waffles like it’s edible bliss. Sam is gonna have to thank Jessica profusely next time he sees her.
