“I’m telling you all of this isn’t necessary, Corrin,” Cloud says, watching the prince frantically pace back and forth to gather first aid supplies. “It’s just a small cut,”
Corrin returns to Cloud with a small bowl of water, soap and a first aid kit. “I just feel so guilty doing this to you!” he frets. The dragon prince rang the warm water out of the soaked cloth, applying light pressure to Cloud’s cut to clean it.
“Just friendly practicing with a dear friend, and I cut him! How barbaric…” He hears Corrin babble to himself.
“It’s fine, Corrin. You’re freaking out over nothing. It was just an accident. It doesn’t even hurt…”
“Accident or not, There are no excuses for such carelessness with my blade. I’m a swordsman for goodness sake. I must take care of it. It’s the least I could do as an apology, Cloud,”
For a cut as small as it was, Corrin really took it to heart. Cloud didn’t even notice it was there until he had said something after practice, followed by a series of ‘I’m sorrys’.
The Hoshidan prince always turned into a worrywart with anything so minor. Really, He could have treated this scratch by himself, Cloud thought, but having known him for a while, he knew Corrin absolutely would not let that happen if he was a witness. And since trying to talk him out of it was proving to be pretty much useless, Cloud just remained silent.
He watched Corrin apply just a dab of an antiseptic to a cotton swab. But before anything, the prince pauses to caution, “Now, this might hurt a bit, please, be still,”
Corrin pressed the damp swab onto Cloud’s fresh cut, only a blow from his nostrils coming from the mercenary as a response from the slight sting he felt on his cheek. Finally, Corrin uses a gauze to protect the treated wound, using his thumbs to make sure the adhesive sticks into Cloud’s cheek.
“There, all finished,” Cloud hears.
The prince stands back to let Cloud get back on his feet. The two stared into a nearby mirror to look over Corrin's nursing job on the ex-SOLDIER’s injury. The size of the bandaging was a bit over the top for what was underneath. Hell, it covered half of Cloud’s cheek. And If he could remember, the cut itself wasn’t even as big as what this gauze gave off. Regardless, Corrin had a pleased smile on his face from his work with Cloud’s look of befuddlement right beside him.
“Oh! I forgot one more thing!” Corrin suddenly gasps. Cloud sighs in exhaustion. He looks to Corrin in disbelief.
“What else could this cut possibly need, Cor-“ Cloud's words fell silent after feeling his face get pulled into a set of lips pressing lightly to his cheek. Corrin then breaks away, standing back on his feet, leaving a stunned Cloud.
“A kiss to make it better,” he answers sweetly, an innocent smile to his lips.
Cloud’s face burned red, “I.. um… thanks, Corrin…” he stammered.
“It’s my pleasure,” his voice coos. “Shall we head back to the arena? We should get a little more practice in,”
Cloud shook himself awake from the small trance he found himself in from the sudden kiss. “Oh..! Sure..” With his affirmation, Corrin starts his walk back to the arena, Cloud following right beside him.
“I’ll be sure to be more careful this time,” Corrin assured.
Cloud only nods, but really, he wouldn’t mind getting cut one more time for another one of those…
