"Marketing portfolio"
It was a new term for Kim Jiwon who is now going to have a project outside his usual. Something more formal, maybe more professional?
'Am I a pro now? ' he wondered after seeing the proposal.
Jiwon has been taking casual photos for random occasions like birthdays, maternity shoots, engagements and even weddings. But not "marketing portfolios".
By this, it would mean that he and his team would be shooting for a brand which would use his photos for printed marketing.
Jiwon has never had any of his photos on magazines, newspapers or any form of public print. This is new to him and to their firm, Holup! Photography.
"So here, the brand is Sarchel, it is a clothes and accessories fashion line which aims to capture the middle to high class with its trendy but classy affordable outerwear and products. This time you'll be working with models, Jiwonie." Yunhyeong, his partner and also his manager, gave him a mini background.
Yunhyeong is the one who accepts and screens projects, contacts clients, plots the schedule, manages the costs, procures documents and does more admin duties.
They are joined by Chanwoo, another partner and their project coordinator, who is mainly tasked to contact suppliers, production designers or stylists, and closely monitor venue progress. Basically, the execution of the project.
Jiwon doesn't really have a part in all these organization and planning, he just gives the concept and does the photography. He doesn't have a touch of those skills.
He lets the other two showcase their abilities as he works magic with his camera.
"This is a big project Yun. Can we handle it? We're just a small firm. Chanwoo also knows only a limited number of people too." Jiwon was bagged with concerns.
"As far as I know, they would have a lot of people for the shoot. They may even have their own production team. I can just watch them from the sidelines." Chanwoo grinned while imagining his lax role.
Jiwon walked around their workspace and looked for any concept he can find. With the branding of Sarchel, they needed to show elegance but not old-fashioned.
"Hyung, I've contacted a modeling agency. They're asking about the models we might need. Do you want me to choose for you?" Chanwoo offered.
"I trust your taste Chanwoo. You know the branding too. Whatever their appearance may be, I can do some tricks." He was confident with his skills. Although this is his first time working with actual models, he has tried a modeling stint before.
'If I did that good with this face, why can't anyone else.' Jiwon always thought he was not that good-looking.
