Chapter Text
The man stood up straight leaning against the wall of the ballroom in his black suit with a black tie with white and green flowers on it. His hair down framing his face, it looked like if you touched it would be silky soft. His charming facial features made him easily stick out from the crowd. He was in simple terms very handsome.
You didn’t know what his name was but you couldn’t help but stare helplessly. As if he could read your mind he looked up at you from across the ballroom and gave you a devilishly handsome smile. You glazed across smiling back a bit of red blush crossing your cheeks as you did so. He nodded his head smirking while making his way across the room to you. When he finally reached you he stood only a few inches away.
“Would you like to dance,” he said in a low voice and you screamed internally. His voice was even more angelica than his face if that was possible. “Yes I’d love to,” you smile in response, holding out your hand. The song playing is ‘Put Your Head on my Shoulder’ by Paul Anka.
He smiles, taking your hand, putting his hand on your waist and you dance . You step forth he steps to the right forming a box with your feet. You’d never felt more hand dancing; you could practically feel your heart in your throat. You were so nervous but you smiled as he smiled back at you.
“You dance well,” he said with a smile and he dips you back and you simply respond “a dancer only as good as their dance partner,” you smirk at him as he pulls you back.
He chuckles lightly, a soft kind of laugh and you smile as he twirls you. He instantly puts his hand back on your waist and you blush red. You swear you see a light pink over take his face but it’s gone in an instant as the song ends.
“Looks like our time is up, love”
“Don't have time for one more dance,” you ask pouting your lips in hope that would make him want to stay longer but he simply smiles his eyes traveling beyond you to something in the background. “If only I could,” he says before letting go of your waist and kissing your head softly.
He disappeared into the crowd. You could no longer see his perfect face and you stood touching your head where his lips had touched you.

“And that was the last time I saw him,” you say, concluding the story that you had resided with your best friend for the thousandth time. Seo-Jun simply stared in awe. “That’s so cute,” she says, her arms resting on the shoulder with her head in her hands.
She was already shipping you over the mysterious stranger. You hadn’t even learned his name. You lean back in falling into your couch, soft cushions sighing to yourself lightly. “Do you think I’ll ever see him again,” you mutter in a hopeless tone. Maybe it was something that was just a” once in your lifetime opportunity.
“Well you met at a work ball which meannnnnssss,” her head was tilted and you tilted her head with her giving her a confused look. “Meannnss you love with each other, silly” she finishes shaking her head in disbelief almost as if she thought you were a dumbass. “OHHHH YOU’RE RIGHT!!!,” you shout jumping out of your chair instantly running towards the door.
“Wait where are you going,” she yells, startled by you standing up so quickly. “Where do you think.! I'm going to work,” you say as you race out of the Seo-Jun apartment down the stairs. You had completely forgotten about the elevator as you raced down.
Little did you know who was coming up the elevator at that time was none other than the boy she had danced with at the party. He stepped out wearing a casual suit. He had a white button up and black slacks with a blue suit coat. His hair was messy falling over itself but he still wore a charming face.
He knocked on the door of Seo-Jun apartment and she open her face looking frazzled from y/n leaving so fast. “Jungkook! “ She wraps her arm around his neck and he smiles gently at her. “Hey Seo-Jun,” and he lightly kisses her forehead.
You race out the door down calling a cab. Seo-Jun lives smack down in the middle of Itaewon, South Korea. It’s a beautiful place, mostly filled with markets but you worked at a large building called Jeongguk’s enterprises. You worked as a middle management worker as a secretary. office in a nice office. It wasn't exactly a cubicle so it was nicer than your previous jobs. You had been working there for sometime but knowing the mysterious man from before worked here too made your excitement peak.
“What are you doing here y/n,” a voice says from behind you. You turn around to see your best friend Ji-min standing there leaning back in his comfortable office chair. Your desks were right across from each other as you both worked as secretaries for the same person.
“Oh Ji-min I had the most fabulous evening at the ball!” you say with a huge sigh grabbing his hand and pulling him up. You put your hand on his and another one on his shoulder and pull him to dance with you and he does. “Well tell what happened haha,” Ji-min says laughing as he dances with you happily.
You explain everything and as you mention the mysterious stranger suddenly Ji-min goes stiff. “So did you get his name..he must work here,” he says, letting go of your hand slowly making his way back to his desk. “I never got the name,” you sigh, putting your hand to your head in a dramatic sense as though to be like ‘poor me’ to which he just laughs.
“Well then y/n don’t jump to conclusions that it’s love. You don’t even know the man. It was just one dance on a one spectacular evening”
“You’re right”
“I’m always right,” he says with a wink as you sit down at your desk across from. You roll your eyes before starting up your computer. It took a moment to boot up so you sat there staring your friend down. “What is it,” he chimes looking up from his computer to your stare. “Nothing,” you respond looking back down at your desk.
You’d never think of Ji-min as more than a friend but he is quite handsome. He wore a white suit that was completely white. It looked like if you spilled coffee on it the fabric would be ruined forever. His hair was dyed pink as it wasn’t a large issue in their department. They worked in the entertainment field. You see many people with dyed hair, piercings, ect. It wasn’t like your first job where you got judged so much for having a simple nose piercing.
You stare at your desktop pulling open the files you now had to work on. You may have gotten to work early but you could leave early if you started now.
Suddenly the door swings open and Yoon-gi, your boss walks in. “Morning Suga,” you say as you all were very close and you had given him that nickname. Suga wore a black turtleneck with a black suit coat over it. He had some silver chains on with his pitch black hair.
“Morning y/n and Ji-min,” he paused for a second before stopping right before entering his door.
“I'm moving departments,” he says simply “and Jeon Jeongguk is moving to this department.”
Both you and Ji-min freeze suddenly staring at Suga. He did not just say what you thought he said. The big man himself was moving down to this small department. I mean it was a large department that worked with many of the new applicants and incoming talent but still it wasn’t although this would be something Yoon-gi couldn’t do himself.
“Got it,” you respond, not knowing what to say as Suga makes his way to his office. He ushers you and Ji-min inside to help him pack. Neither of you could believe Suga would be moving up to the department that works with the bigger talent. He’d be working with bigger idols. You were excited for him but sad by the loss of one of your closest friends moving up.
“When are you leaving,” Ji-min asked as they packed up the last box. “Well today….haha I just kind of started late on the packing,” he laughs as they carry the last box to the pile. Yoon-gi's office was never very decked out with personal belongings to begin with so it took only a few hours to get everything packed.
Yoon-gi stopped moving, staring out his large window of his office. You and Ji-min backed out slowly. Suga had been working in that office for years now. I suppose it was him saying his final goodbye as he made his way up in work. He was a very talented young man.
As you left the room you noticed Ji-min had a concerned look on his face. “I don’t understand why the CEO’s son would be moving down here,” Ji-min says before slouching down in his desk chair.
The door swings open, you gasp, placing your hand over his mouth.
“It’s him”
