Still Musing on You

Summary:

Yet another poem written during British Literature class

Work Text:

You looked at me

like I was the sun;

told me every flaw

was a beautiful one.

I let you see,

I let you touch.

Let myself want-

I wanted too much.

I thought this was over,

that I'd let you go.

My head says yes,

but my heart says no.

My heart won't release you.

It's holding on tight,

and it's splitting my soul.

Cause I know it's not right . . .

I can't undo

the things you have done,

and you can't return

the heart you have won.

The bridge has been burned.

There's ash in the air.

But when you pass by

I can't help but stare.

I see you, I want you.

I miss you, and yet . . .

No night in your arms

is one I regret,

But I hope that one day

They're times I'll forget.

You're the most painful memory

That I've ever met.
