Chapter Text
The Mighty Nein were on the road, they were travelling by foot and not by horse and cart to not alert danger of their presence. Caduceus was at the back of the travelling line, walking slowly so as to not lose energy but fast enough to keep up with the group.
Caduceus smiled, the warm rays of the sun hitting his face. The Wild Mother had blessed them with another warm, beautiful day, that of which he was spending with his friends. He was glad it was sunny, at least he and his friends would not get soaked.
Caduceus' ear twitched as he heard faint footsteps behind him, The firbolg looked to where the footsteps seemed to come from as soon as he heard them. When he did look, He saw a purple tiefling with an appearance that could be compared to that of a peacock, it was very ostentatious. Caduceus tilted his head, he could feel some aura that came from the tiefling, a faint and light aura, a ghost. Caduceus slowed a bit, matching the speed of the tiefling and he walked beside them.
“It’s quite lonely travelling with no one to talk to.” Caduceus said, looking at the tiefling.
The tiefling seemed surprised by the sudden voice, quickly turning and looking at Caduceus.
“You can see me?” The tiefling said, seemingly a bit confused and surprised.
“Indeed I can.” Caduceus smiled, nodding a bit.
“How-?” The tiefling asked.
“I’m a Cleric, to be more specific, A grave cleric. I watch the cycle of life, death and the afterlife. I guess it’s just something I can do because of that, neat hm?” Caduceus smiled again.
“I guess so.” The tiefling sighed, “I just wish the others could see me too, y’know?”
“That’s perfectly understandable if you were close to them, It seems you’ve been following us for a while now or, at the least, you’ve been following them for a while now.” Caduceus said.
“Well, yeah- I kinda just miss our adventures and it looks like you’re doing so well without me, I-” The tiefling said.
“Mr Mollymauk, I assure you they miss you a lot.” Caduceus said.
Molly smiled a bit, his tail swaying from side to side. He liked this new guy, he was easy-going and seemed to have good intentions.
“Thank you, Clay.” Molly said, “Do you prefer Clay, Caduceus or Mr Clay? I just sort of picked your name up from the group, they just call you Caduceus, Should I just call you that or-?”
“Caduceus is fine, Molly.” Caduceus smiled.
“Alright, Deucy.” Molly grinned.
Caduceus sighed, shaking his head and smiling a bit, But Caduceus couldn’t help but feel more than two eyes watching him as he talked to Molly. Maybe he’d ask Molly later about it but for now, He was happy that the ghost wasn’t alone as the journey continued.
